is anyone else getting a wakelock when using superSU?
it was listed in wakelock detector as a screen wakelock and my battery was draining super fast.
it said it was a supersu receiver wakelock
after uninstalling it my battery is going down much slower.
i'm using the third superuser app (not by cwm, i forget the dev) i don't get prompts to access, but root apps seem to still be working fine.
will test tomorrow so i have a full day of using a different app to see what happens.
also, i was unable to install the binary using the cwm superuser app since there is no custom recovery, is there any other way to install the binary?

No wakelocks from SuperSU for me. But your post prompted me to check and I saw Amazon waking up Kindle rather frequently. Both are greenified now.
I couldn't get the supersu binary working either. That update it wants may be what's cause a wakelock. Been using superuser with no issues.

I've chosen the “default“ option, because it needs no recovery and no, no error, just working a bit and notifying about it's success afterwards. But i use chainfires supersu, not superuser by chainsdd.

Did you update the binary or do you maybe have any rouge app requesting root that often? Supersu doesn't even show up at my stats.

Yes updated the binary in normal mode, rebooted but still showing this wakelocks.
i've uninstalled and i'm using the superuser from chainsDD but i think there is something wrong with this app can't update the binary and no prompts asking me to allow or deny access to su
that's a bummer

Weird, like said, I'm also using Supersu and have no problems at all, the only thing i could think of left, which could be the culprit, is an app requesting su permissions more or less all the time.
Here is another screenshot of wld, it also doesn't show supersu wakelocks.

i'm also wondring what could cause that. i do have greenify installed and 4 apps hibernated (airdroid, a torch app, a newsletter app, and a market app) i will install a custom rom this afternoon and reinstall everything and see what happens.

so to confirm, when you install supersu and it asks for the binary update, you pick the normal method (non recovery) and it doesn't give an error, but you still get the wakelock?

i've enable full log to keep eye on a possible app trying to have permission all the time.
After changing Su apps my battery has greatly improved, so I don't think its a rogue app asking for Su permissions too often.
Its very perplexing.
I've been using the cainsdd app and while it just seems to grant everything access without a prompt, at least my phone isn't dying super quick

If you can, can you link me the binaries and tell me how to flash just the binaries?

SU binary installation failed
Hey guys,
I had root access till like two hours ago, then some update happened with supersu now it says "there is no su binary installed", can anyone tell me what happened ? I think I have lost my root priviledges but how ?
Hi,
Is there anyone who managed to root his/her Tab 3 10.1 ?
I tried it several ways, but, no luck
I now have firmware version JDQ39.P5210XXUAMG6 and SuperSU installed (by rooting/flashing via Odin), it was a pre-rooted firmware. (Android version is 4.2.2.)
But the problem is, SuperSU wants to update the SU binary, or else it won't work. Then I can choose between CWM/TWRP or Normal recovery.
I've tried everything but it just doesn't work.
When I choose for Normal recovery, it just reboots into recovery and then doesn't do anything.
When I choose for CWM/TWRP recovery, it's the same problem.
I already have flashed the other recoveries and tried both options, for both recoveries, but, again, no luck
Oh and using Superuser instead of SuperSU, doesn't help either. It has the same problem.
Other superuser apps don't work, too.
Yes, almost forgot, enabling USB Debug Mode does not help, neither with flashing pre-rooted firmware again, with USB Debug Mode on.
Thanks in advance...

I followed this guide for root and recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432467
Only things to beware of:
uncheck the reboot option in odin and just hard power down the device after flashing the recovery.
Cwm only will use an external micro card (sees it as sdcard) so put the root zip there.
Vol up and down seem backwards to me.
Good luck. -- Bud

It worked by flashing/installing the root.zip through TWRM (verification disabled, else it failed).

Hello,
I just pulled my tab out of the box and when I turned wifi on it started downloading system update. In fact just finished downloading it. I'm wondering if I allow it to upgrade will I still be able to use Bindroid's root method. Anybody allow the upgrade then root? I have the att variant of galaxy s4 and i know there were a lot of people that got boned when they allowed the build upgrade before rooting because of the bootloader... I'm currently on MI8 build on my P5210. Under update info it just says size and "improved stability." I'm probably just paranoid from the s4 but just curious if there was any insight out there. Benzo I quoted you because I've seen your name a lot helping out.
Thanks!
no video in vudu or netflix after root via bindroid
Hi I rooted my gt-p5210 a coup,e of times thru bindroid. All works well, a little laggy but thats expected. Only problem ive found is that netflix and vudu both load all tbe way but neither will play the video its goes to video buffering then restarts the app. Any Ideas? Btw I used oden and cwm.

My rooted Tab3 doesn't seem to show any lag at all ?
Is it the general consensus that 'rooted' devices experience lag ?

Agree. Probably meant the recovery app (cwm or twrp) is laggy which it is. I would guess the chip is in a power saving mode under the recovery apps and no one has figured out how to fix this. -- Bud
I'm currently running rbox's updated 51.1.4.0_user_514006420 ROM. I can still grant superuser access to apps that request it, and apps that require su function properly, but I can't open the SuperSu app itself, it just crashes. When I try to open it from the KFTV launcher, the screen blinks and it returns to the applications menu. If I try to open SuperSu from XBMC, it causes XBMC to crash as well.

I think it has to do with the way I'm installing it. In theory if you were to delete the SuperSu.apk from /system/app and sideload the apk yourself, it might work better. And if you horribly break things, you can always just reinstall the prerooted rom to get it back.

You'll have to re-approve superuser requests since it's a different app. I believe this is the same superuser app that comes with Cyanogenmod

I also had the same issues. However, I was able to fix it by deleting "/system/app/SuperSu.apk" and then side-loading an older version of SuperSu (2.01). So, it looks as if the issue may be with compatibility with more recent versions.

Hey. So i just noticed that Snapchat doesnt work on rooted phones anymore I am using Fulmics 6.5 with root ofcourse, and i cannot sign in. So i was thinking of removing my root, logging in to my snapchat account and then flash the superSU.zip file to get root again, Would that work? And how do i get unrooted without reflashing the whole rom?
First of all I don't use snap chat and I don't know if it is bug or some kind of root detector.
The only thing I would recommend is
Do a Nandroid backup
Flash Xposed
Install Rootcloack
And try if it's working... If not restore backup cause I think we should use Xposed only if it's necessary for our needs.
I hope I could help you

So i tried rooting with the op3 toolkit from the xda forums, but the systemless supersu, still has no root access.
Anybody knows a solution?
