When I open apps such as chrome, gmail and or any non system app the status bar is black. Why isn't it clear? I'm rooted running xposed, tweak box and nova launcher. The status bar is clear on the home screen and lock screen, and it matches the color of the LG apps but its black on every other app
Here are done screen shots:

Bugger, that was my main reason for returning the Xperia Z2 - with the navigation and notification bars, it was the same size as my S3 on expanded desktop.
Just glad the G3 has such a big screen and the nav bars can be hidden. Future ROMs should address this.
I didn't really notice it until the other day, but now that I did it's annoying.

I tried that but it wasn't working, how do you have it set up?

I don't see the problem. If the solid bar was blocking content then yeah annoying but its not so a transparent nav bar would either show nothing at all or the back, home and recent buttons would block content. Now that would be truly annoying in my mind.

When I log into a messaging thing such as Skype there is a logo of the Skype thing in the status bar. I was wondering if there is a way to make this not appear while I'm in that app. This is not a big deal but is annoying at times. By the way I'm on a nexus 4 using jelly bean 4.2.1

that will hide it all the time, not what the OP asked.
as to an answer, there is none that will temporarily hide icons based on focus. its largely up to the app itself to do this(for example jet audio or Google music)
My note 2 is with android revolution hd 6.0 rom and it works good, but i would like to make the notifikation bar at the top transparent
Is that easy to do? Can i do it without an app or is there an app that makes it easy to change the notifikation bar?
It can be done quite easily with the tweakbox app in the xposed framework in this thread

The tweak box app is in this thread. If you set the staus bar like in the screenshot it makes it transparent. It doesn't work on the lock screen but does on the home screen.

There is a mod, but it requires root access.

Unfortunately to do any mod to the status bar will require root. It really would be nice though if we didn't have to root in order to mod the status bar. I've always liked it transparent on my other rooted devices. But since my Note 2 is still stock and unrooted. I just hid the status bar using Apex launcher and then just use different widgets to display the info that I like to see on my home screen.
I have the stock jellybean rom and well is there a modded notification bar with the mobile data option and possible with a black status bar instead of the gray one?? Thanks for your time.

You will want 15 or 23 Toggles. Look for the toggle mods and install with CWM or TWRP. I am not sure about being black though. They definitely give you more options than stock.

Is this not what you're looking for?
Also 4.4.1 & 4.4.2 are supposed to have the transparent navbar as standard, but I'm running the N5 PORT rom so i wouldn't know.
well I tried it but it isn't always transparent it's only at the home page not I'm a open app or anything

+1
Nova Launcher's latest update enables transparent Nav and Status bars now.
I also wanted the navigation bars and status were transparent in all applications and this is only possible in immersive mode. I wonder if there is any way to use the status bars and immersive navigation mode instead of forward slashes. Or at least there is some way off the fixed bars in immersive mode without them disappear.
I've tried almost every rom but I have not yet found one that has it. my search must go on

Each app's developer needs to enable that functionality for the app in question.
