So I was listening to music, unplugged it and made a phone call. After a few minutes the headphone notification appeared and I couldn't hear the person on the other end, but they could hear me. Speaker phone worked but the phone thought I had a headphone plugged in. After a reboot, a weird plug replaced the headphone notification ,and it finally just went away a few hours later.
This phone being relatively new, I'm wondering if anyone ran into this problem. There was no water contact, and calls and music do work through headphones so I doubt it's a broken contact.

Hm. Suppose I'm posting in hopes others have the same problem, only because it's currently not an issue.

My speaker sounds like it might be blown... it was working fine and then started acting up. I haven't done anything to cause it that I know of, I have my phone on vibrate 98% of the time. Is it a possible software issue?

Speaker was blown and I got it replaced at a local repair center. According to the tech, it was a combination of a blown speaker and a "known" software issue with gingerbread (ef02). The last part is obviously bs, I was on eb13 (srf 1.1.1) and odin'd to ef02 so I was stock when I took it in so they wouldn't cry that my modifications ruined the speaker.

the epic speaker is crap im soon to blow mine as i blare the music all the time when i take a shower lol
Be sure that you're not experiencing the audio routing bug caused by bluetooth where all audio gets routed through the ear speaker. It happened to me and at first I thought the main external speaker was blown. Only takes a reboot to fix but is the worst Froyo bug IMO and I sure hope 2.3 fixes it.
It had been re booted a few times and had a fresh flash. I hardly used the thing i was on vibrate at least 98% of the time

Hello, I have the Samsung Galaxy SII and I own already two BT headsets:
- Plantronics Discovery 640
- Nokia BH-609
The problem with plantronics is the blue light that flashes. Especially at night if I am watching a movie with low light, it is so bothering that I have to turn it off. Also it is old tech.
The Nokia BH-609 has great sound quality but a big problem for me: if I put it together with my phone one the same pocket there are 90% chances that the multifunction button gets double clicked and the phone redials the last called number (usually wife ) I installed third party apps in the Galaxy SII but couldn't reassign double click function.
Another problem with BH-609 is that if I will separate the phone for some minutes then to save battery it turns off and then I have to flash it on again to use it.
So now I am on the market for a new BT. Money is not an issue. My requirements are:
- difficult to double click (like plantronics or jabra)
- not bothering flashing blue light or at least a function to turn it off (like nokia BH-609)
I will use mainly for calls but I want to listen to low level music when I walk my dog.
Since money is not an issue I was thinking Jawbone ERA Motion. Do you think it meets my requirements?
Also does the plantronics Voyager Pro+ have a function to turn off the blue flashing? Or at least is it less bothering than Discovery 640?
Thanks
Well nevermind I just ordered the Jawbone ERA Bluetooth Headset (Midnight)
Hope I won't regret it.
I got it yesterday. Very cool looking headset. There is a free app that shows the battery level in the phone. Use the same charger as the phone (SGS2) I also got it updated easily through the jawbone website.
So far so good - think it worths the money.

i bought the Motorola Finity.. it is and isn't worth the money.. sound canceling is amazing, but it won't notify me of my notifications if my phone is silent... defeating some of the purpose of needing it..
sadly, this was the only blue tooth that i found that actually fit in my ear... all the circle buds were to big.. so... it is what it is..
hope you like your bt

Thanks for your input. Actually problems started yesterday evening. The phone shows that the ERA is connected but in some calls I hear nothing, completely no sound, even though it seems connected and the SGS2 shows that the headset handles the call.
Is it common problem?

Are you on a new rom?? And you may have a faulty bt. I had to have my first one replaced. It was kicking calls over to my handset constantly. It was handeling music, just not calls. Had it replaced, and no problems since

Hi, what do you mean new rom? For your info I updated yesterday through maker's site and I have the new firmware. The problem is this:
1 out of 5 calls (approx) I hear nothing, although the Galaxy S2 shows the the call is being handled by the headset. So sometimes for testing I call a phone of a friend in the same place with me, and although I hear the ring on the other phone, I hear nothing from the headset, that somehow still controls the call, because if I double tap it the call ends.
I called the online shop that I bought it and await for their reply.

I meant did you flash a new rom? Like you've rooted your phone, and flashed a new rom, and now it's all custom and fancy. Lol

Oh I see, no my phone is not flashed or rooted.
Does my BT problem sound to you like a faulty headset or a common jawbone problem?
I think a bad headset. Oh, and sometimes for whatever reason, bt doesn't work with all phones, but a new model should have no problem. I'd call jabra support and find out.

I have a cheap old Plantronics 220. The volume level sucks and the earloop is just painful.
After playing with my friends Jawbone, I'm thinking about going that route. Unless you guys have some other suggestions about 'loopless' headsets.
Plus you can pick up the Jawbones new on Amazon now for around 40 bucks if you look around. Win.
i don't know. i returned mine back and waiting for the new one.
as a design and fit to the ear without the loop it was excellent. it had also the clearest sound that i heard from BT headset.
Cons on using on android:
- you have to use 3rd party app, otherwise there is no sign of connection with the phone (unlike most other headsets that show a headphone display on the top of the android)
- if you set the headset as multimedia also (not only to work during call) and have set the android to notifications sounds, these sounds will go to the headset and will drain the phone's battery pretty fast.
These are my conclusions from only two days of usage.
I use this. http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...ices/Bluetooth-Headsets/MOTOROLA-FINITI-US-EN
No need for 3rd party app, at least on inspire. Fits amazing with out ear loop, but I use it for the just in case. Would freak if it fell and busted it I lost it.
It fits inside your ear, not just sitting there. It has stealth technology, which says blocks wind to 40 MPH. But I know that I can be on a phone call and vacuum and no one knows I'm vacuuming. Lol.
Here's the thing I don't like. If my phone is silent, so is my bt on notification. And if i get a phone call, I don't get the ringtone all the time, but itbalways says, who is calling me.

I've been using a Platronics Discovery 655 for about 7 years now and so far it's been the best one I've owned. I wished they still made them.
I am on my third replacement phone (last one the LED notification didn't work) and now I am noticing that there is a very faint 'Pop' sound emitted from the speaker phone 3 seconds after there is a system audio sound. For instance, every time I hit the Home button or unlock the phone, I hear the 'Pop' three seconds later.
Does anyone else have this problem? If I have headphones plugged in, I do not hear the sound through the headphones.
Thanks!
Dude is it possible that u have the lock n unlock sounds enabled?

Yes I do have the sounds enabled and I hear those fine. I am hearing an additional click/pop noise 3 seconds later. It makes the sound pretty much every time the phone makes noise. It's very faint.
From what I've read this is a pretty common problem. Mine does this as well but honestly I can only hear it when its quiet.
There's also another thread on this topic but I don't believe there was really conclusion.
Mine and a bunch of nexi at my local best buy suffer from this. It is not dependent on lock sounds it's a problem with the DAC I believe

Gotcha. Are you boosting your volume with volume+ or any other app?
Thank you for the replies. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone.
I have the same problem. I posted a thread yesterday, and there's another one (i didn't see it before posting mine).
That's a pretty annoying issue, i used to have the same thing on my unibody MacBook (fixed with an unofficial software patch), and once you hear it, well, you can't unhear it.
I hope this is not a hardware issue and can be fixed by some patch, but no one seems to care about this one (maybe not all GN have this problem?)
I decided to just disable all touch tones since it was bothering me too much. Just out of curiosity I checked another Nexus and the pop is still there but could only be heard by literally holding the speaker phone to my ear. Not nearly as loud as mine.

Yeah dude.... same. I actually started the original thread on this. Its so annoying hey.... I hear ya man. I dunno, I did the same as you, disabled touch sounds. Its sounds cheap doesn't it.
I really hope its software related. I was trying to find out if, just a bit of 007 work, Haha, if it was maybe the build? Seeing if the people with a Google updated nexus's had the issue compared to people with the Samsung updated ones. I wonder if there a connection....

Does anyone get interference on the earpiece during a call. Its like a ticking noise but doesn't happen all the time. Its almost as if the radio is interfering with the audio. Also when the phone is in standby and I put the earpiece to my ear I can hear a faint ticking. Anyone else?

yes i have the same at my d855 during a call. this is an annoying noise...
I noticed this too, but only when you set sound to highest setting. When you lower it a bit, there is no such problem.

I noticed this during calls on my first D855, not tried a call on my second one yet as I only got it last night..
I made a post about this over a month ago and it was pretty much a dead thread. On some other forums, they said to just swap the phone. I went through 3 different ones at Verizon and I've got the same issue. This supposedly was fixed on the G2 with a software update so I'm holding out for that. And during this round of swaps, Verizon magically charged me $100 extra and are taking their sweet-ass time refunding it to me.
Same here, exactly as described in the first post. Is it hardware issue? Thanks
Top of the morning to you or good day, or good evening...
First, I would like to say this is my first post, sorry if I leave something out or haven't flowed rules/templates (if there are some).
So let's get down to business. I have HTC One M8, it has been with me for +-1 year. A while back it started to do some weird stuff. I connect my headphones, go to music or spotify (doesn't matter where I listen), as I am listening to the song, in one point it will just start fast forwarding or just stop and won't recognize that headphones are plugged in, so as I press play again the sound is coming from the speakers (headphones are still plugged in), in some cases it will bring up Google Now. The phone has experienced some falls and some water, but after every accident it is fine.
Maybe some one has had a similar experience?
Thanks to all the respondents.
Sounds like your headphone port may be damaged.
Have you tried more than one set of headphones?

Before somewhat similar thing happened with me ( not with HTC , but with xperia(.
difference was that sometimes it was suddenly showing that headphone is connected, but actually it was not connected, remaining similar to you .
i found from local repair shop that, its headphone port IC was damaged due to water ingress ( i didnt remember when water gone, but you remember) , seems your issue is similar, any way best of luck
Yes, i have tried it with approx. 5 different ones and nothing changes
