wf Phone Tools 0.2 alpha

Hi!!!
I started a small project to install xap and other stuff.. you can find it here!
If anyone wants to try it...
SMS works only with devices supported from SMSBackup (thanks to shinichi_wtn)!

It allows to (in this version)
- Install new application on device
- Update existing application on device
- Show the list of installed applications (only developer installed)
- Launch, Kill and uninstall applications
- Explore isolated storage of applications
- Download files and folders from isolated storage
- Download SMS from device (in combination with smsBackup XAP)
from v.0.2
- Load pdf on adobe reader (need to uninstall the builtin version and reinstall from xap)
- Load office documents on device
- added debug functions
- corrected various bug (install from wrong xap, sms duplicates, ....)
- added resources from AppResLib
- added "copy" and "export" for sms
... and more to come...

In next versions:
- load provisioning xml
- folders?

I may recommend you to use http://resourcelib.codeplex.com/, to extract localized strings and display correct app name instead of @AppResLib.dll,-100

I keep getting an error when trying to launch the app. It says that a required assembly "Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.vs Version 10.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache first." When I Binged looking for an answer to this, I found this on the Microsoft MSDN Forums:
I was able to fix this by de-selecting these items in the properties window of my project file.
In the Publish Tab, under Install Mode & Settings, Click the "Prerequisites" button, then only select the Items you need to install.

@dxdy: I think andreacorti has to fix the Click-to-Install installer, as it's including some prereq's that clients do not have or need, as just having the correct .NET Client Framework is all that should be needed to run the application.

Hi.. the correct framework version is selected (4.0) .
the power pack dll is actually needed, i use a control from that dll..
I included also the power pack in the package and in the requisites.. could you please check if it's working? thanks!!
(the dll with guid {250BEABB-55E8-43bb-AC97-2D95674ECE14} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Phone Tools\CoreCon\10.0\Bin\ConMan2.dll - is needed and I cannot include in the package.. I think zune or the sdk install it )

Exactly what I have been looking for. Too many different apps to install XAP files and others to do other things.

I do have .NET 4.0 installed on my system (run plenty of other .NET 4.0 software.) I just looked on my system, and I don't have a BIN folder under C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Phone Tools\CoreCon\10.0\. BTW, I do have Zune installed, as well as the Windows Phone 7.1 SDK. I don't know why this file doesn't exist on my system.
Ok, so I tried your updated Click-to-Install and it's now working. Well, the application launches. Do our devices need to be Interop-Unlocked for this to work? My Focus S is just developer unlocked.

Edit: A small XAP 205KB, has been hanging for more than 5 min claiming installing. Tried it with another app, it was done in 5 seconds...
Got it running, it cuts off the bottom of the buttons more than 1/2 way, extending the window does not fix.
Attached image if you want to see what I mean...
I know it's a small bug....but, it's a bug.

Anyplan you might make a regular .exe app? This .application is not working for me. I have .net fw 4 but I can't get this to deploy. Just an unknown file extension.

Thanks for helping me get 'Samsung extra settings' app off my phone. The auto brightness setting would not disable on my Focus. It, Ministry of sound and App Highlights were the three apps it detected that were installed before using your tool.

Any plans to impliment export SMS on Desktop using this tool. Also is the PDf and Doc Uploader is same as Book Uploader tool which came out recently ?

Awesome. We did a review of this tool at WPXBOX.
One problem is with the Isolated Storage which always remain blank but if I open it from Advance Tab it displays the PDF file uploaded.
Secondly icons for Homebrew tools aren't displayed properly.

[CSC features] Enable secret CSC features

I didn't see one started here, and after seeing this on the portal, I started to play around a bit with this and thought it may be a good idea to post this here too. With thanks to kkoolpatz in this link I started to edit the CSC file found here:/system/csc/feature.xml in my stock, rooted JB ROM. Just be sure to make a backup, and I recomend RootExplorer to make changes:

I have added my Stock file to this post, just remove the txt

Couple of things I noticed that I think is interesting:
1) By deleting [I comented out] the line that hides the the teather APM, this no looks like it can be easily deleted, may be useful for some
2) You can enable the Find my phone menu. Looks like you can set it up, but when you launch the web page, this phone is not listed. Wondering what else is needed to make this work
3) You seem to be able to add the ability to disable Carrier IQ apps from the apps list, but I still don't see them there. Wondering if this can be useful some way.
4) There are a lot of interesting things to play with in this file. Also the CscFeatures file posted by kkoolpatz has some items of interest

I did find one thing for those using this (perhaps knightluffy can look into this too and update), be careful when entering a domain not to include the http:// part as the app will close upon reentry.. the // or : are invalid characters perhaps for the host causing the app to crash. I had to delete the entry in the registry to get back into the app.
Very nice app, you can easily add, delete your entries directly in the application.

I have made a fix, could you please help try it again?

Tested v1.0.1, this version works when entering : or / which is great in case one mistakenly adds it! Thanks!
The entry however disappears if you exit and re-open the app preventing editing/removing it...but it does add the entry into the registry. If there is a way without going too crazy to check for and remove any incorrect characters, such as the : and / or any other character except for a hyphen - in the Address field, and only allow numbers and a . in the ip field that would be helpful at preventing incorrect entries for those not too familiar with the hosts file.

[GUIDE] changing whatsapp status of friend,facebook usernames,synchronised accounts,h

Hello.......
In this tutorial i will explain you
how to change whatsapp status of your friend, changing usernames of facebook users in messenger,changing of browsing history,changing searched catalogs i.e. search on google play store etc.
for all that purpose....
what you need is
1) rooted device....
2) root explorer..link:link removed
3) database editor...link: link removed
sorry but these apps are paid.....
now lets start....
1) changing whatsapp status of your friend..(only your mobile can see that):
open database editor.
give allow superuser access to it..
open root explorer..go to data/data/com.whatsapp/databases/wa.db.
In this database you will see wa_contacts.
press on that....
now you will see no. of columns are their....
go to status...
and choose any status that u want to change...
long tap on that and edit that .....
now open whatsapp and u will see that really the status of friend get changed.....
2) changing phone type of friend:
In same database as given above..
u will see a column named phone_type....
just cahnge that numerical....
as..
1- home,2- mobile3-work,4-work fax,5-home fax,6-pager,7- other,8-call back,9-car,10-company main,11-ISON,12-main,13-other fax,14-radio,15-telex,16-tty/too,17-work mobile,18-work pager, 20-mms,21- custom.....
and look at whatsapp.....
changing the username of friend in the messenger's messeges list.....
just open app database editor and scroll down till messanger comes..
now tap on messanger.....
now u will see different databases...
choose threads_db2 >>thread_users >> now u will see many columns...
in which their are columns named first_name, last_name, name...
just long presss o them and edit them....
now open messanger and refresh it...
OK..YOU WILL SEE THE NAME GET CHANGED.....
Changing user name of friend in search list in messanger...
go to app database editor..scroll down till messager comes...
select messanger...now u will see many databases.....
go to users_db2 >> facebook_users >>
in this u will see many columns..
just edit first_name ,last_name ,name,
open messanger and refresh......
u r done just slide to left and look at the changed name.......
changing synchronised accounts name....
This is only to make your friends fool ...
Your friend will feel that ....u r using their gmail,whatsapp or facebokk account.....
Open the app database editor..
Scrolll down till name Android System comes....
Click on that ....
Go to accounts.db >> accounts >> name....
Now change the email address as u wish....
If ur friend uses whatsapp then edit ur no. And give friends no.
Now look at settings>>accounts and synchronisation...!!!!
changing google play store search history....
Open app database editor...
Scroll till google play store comes...
Then go to suggestions.db >> suggestions >> display1
U will see that in this column....their is entire search hostory.....
Just edit and change search history..
If u want to delete single search item u can delete it......
changing search history of any browser..
Just open app database editor...
Scroll down till the name of browser comes...
Go into that...and look at history...
And edit that........
In this way you can do many more things.....but.... be careful....

Shortcut Help Needed

Does anyone know if its possible to create a shortcut to mobile data settings on the desktop ? Also and more importantly I'd like to create one to system select - home - automatic . I have nove launcher and know how to create a shortcut but can't seem to identify what brings those options up . Anyone know ? I'm on an ep4gt running cm 11 . thanks
