Hi. I am encountering problems after installing this CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.4
I admit, I am a noob regarding this.
Going back, the phone can access The CWM-based recovery by pressing the power button and volume up, can use menus, advanced menu,
I wiped the partition and cleared cache and dalvik cache but when you restart, screen stops at LG logo and (Secure booting error, Cause: boot certification verify) text is displayed.
I know I was unsure of everything and flashing androids are new to me especially on my device.
can I unlock the bootloader even with the CWM-based recovery alone?
Model name: F240S
android version. 4.4.2
I'm having a similar problem. I have CWM from Freegee on my phone.
Last night, when I was unable to flash either or two different roms, I decided to check for an OTA update. The phone downloaded it, and when it was finished, it went into looping into recovery. I then decided to factory reset, wipe data.. still phone goes back to recovery. Then I decided to just use the backup I had made earlier in CWM. Still stuck in recovery loop.
Anyone? Anyone?

You can't install an OTA update with a custom recovery. It needs the stock recovery. Time to familiarize yourself with the TOT method of flashing back to stock

I just did some more searching. I'm coming up with stuff like "install the lg flash tool" , "and if that doesn't work, install (If you cannot run LGFlashTool2014.exe, please install Visual C++ Runtime Library) - VC_RedistInstaller.exe - 47.7 Mb"
HOLY PHUCKING HELL! WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO? Go get a phucking degree from MIT to just to use my phucking fone???
Seriously. Someone on this site needs to learn how to teach. I know that there are men here with IQs in the upper range of 140 plus.. but they can't teach. sad sad sad.
I've been going at this for so long now. My computer is littered with downloaded files. And then the phone I had before this it was like, hmmm, I'll flash a cyanogenmod rom because they under stand the common man. WRONG. Their mods suck battery life more than stock roms. Okay, I'll flash Carbon rom... not any better, devs have purposely darkened the screen to make it look like battery life is better.. I tried rom after rom after rom. They all have problems. NOt just minor problems either.
Android is the punk in prison that gets passed about by the violent inmates. First Samsung has his way with Android, then Google gets in on the gangbang and then Verizon or AT&T gets sloppy thirds..
I have an e980 and this method had been flawless multiple times. As far as battery life, that all depends on 100 different things, but I always flash madmack's modem, then wipe cache and dalvik. Deep sleep is pretty much guaranteed after that.
Edit: forgot the link for the back to stock method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660

I searched for a day or two from the forums and they said that there are no unlocked bootloader for 4.4.2 OTA yet.
so sad.
What i did was I used the LG mobile support tool and my phone went back to stock.
my device is also unsupported on Freegee and on CWM, my device isn't available.

Your dramatized posts between threads show you are having a hard time. A person does not need a degree to flash, just the patience to read a lot on a forum like xda regarding their phone and android in general.
People only notice something like battery life on a given rom due to the presence of other options they can compare it to. Apple, for example, is just one thing. One ios iteration having a better something over the other is irrelevant as there is nothing to apply degrees of comparison to. Then, hardware variety, etc.
Some of the points you are upset about in the process of flashing could be resolved by a google search or xda forum search.

Well I finally got it working.
What one has to do to get roms flashed is to use madmacks's term. And when you're on recovery mode, you must toggle Loki support to disabled or the install of the new Rom will abort.
Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.

The problem here at xda is that many of the developers are so smart that they are unable to articulate down to us regular people.

Should I move this question to another post?
I have another problem. my phone just got no signal and says "Service disabled". on the notification bar it just loads and says "Searching for networks". it never found any networks. I switched the same SIM to another phone and it has a signal. the problem happened after I edited the build.prop and changed the ro.build.local from "KR" to "US" just to remove the dual clock from the lockscreen (because F240 has a dual clock which is non-removable except if you use the sqlite editor but that method did not work for me. the editor closes and says "*programname* has closed unexpectedly").
I made a factory reset and still there is no signal. I'm using stock kitkat firmware from LG and not rooted. can you help me with this one?
Thanks
Have you checked your apn settings?
Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.
No, I don't have APNs listed.
but, I was able to install sphinx rom and now the phone always says "unfortunately, com.android.keyguard has stopped" and the phone app was gone, APN settings also gone, call logs gone,
For a short while, I didn't think I had apn's listed but I was not looking in the right place.

Probably no baseband or null baseband, my suggestion, flash stock through flashtool, if you have free gees made an efs folder you can always restore that too, but i think flashing stock would solve the baseband problem, if that doesnt, there is an online flashing method, that can help

I don't know about the flash stock through flashtool. I use mobile support tool which I did last night and it was a success. "com.android.phone has closed unexpectedly" or something like that does not appear now on SETTINGS>Tethering & Networks>Mobile Networks OR T Roaming>Select roaming network. because before I'm encountering if I go there.
one last thing is that everything is now stock but still I don't get the signal. unlike before. the signal goes back automatically.
about basebands, I do have a baseband. same as before and I still have my IMEI intact.
That is strange, there is a thread of hyelton, in general section, get the lg flash tool from there, and try to flash the appropriate tot file, if you flash the tot or kdz file for other model, this might result in loss of network

After installing ICS my P935 now resets randomly, seems to do it most when trying to install apps from the Google Play store and when I make settings changes. I don't have an SD card installed if that makes any difference.
Did you do a factory data reset when you updated?
Sent from my LG-P935 using xda app-developers app
It's been doin the same for me (Telus P935), I also did a factory reset and it was still doing it so I took out the SDcard, swapped SDcards, etc. But it hasn't done it today yet.
Well I went to Telus and sent it in to see if they can repair or replace it, it rebooted again today and it then got very hot but when I pulled the battery and booted it up again, the graphics was all messed up and the colors were off, perhaps some damage to the GPU. I had no problems with this before updating to ICS... I wonder because I looked around the net and a few people are having problems too.
funny I have no problems. upgrade was flawless.

I have also had problems with my nitro rebooting a few times a day ever since installing ICS.
I think reboots and other things are not problem of installing Android 4
I've also had this problem, except with my bell optimus Lte, and its quite annoying as it randomly happens while I'm doing something with my phone.

I have the same problem, try a hard reset, but the problem remains ...
Someone solved it? or how to do a factory reset to uninstall ICS?
There's no solution for this problem. And if you will flash another rom or another official software, no matter GB or ICS , the problem will stay. I don't know what happens, but updating creates some error, possibly in hardware.
And you know, I am really disappointed with that. I had tried every rom, and all kdz software, downclocking, disabling tons of functions & options. Nothing prevents reboots. It freezes for a while and then reboots. In some roms it can shuts off instead of reboot. And that's it. The last chance I think is jtagg reflashing.

I had same random reboot & sleep death problem after performing unbrick.
I tried several times of unbricking to correct this and installed GB & ICS, almost every CWM Rom without sucess.
Finally, I tried v18f.exe version when my phone was in download mode.
After that, I havn't had any single reboot or sleep death. I'm currently using v20c without CWM.
What I did was:
1.Install V18f leaked version in download mode.
2.Root with TPSparkyRoot_ICS
3. you can stay with v18f if you like, but I prefer to go v20c using "dd if sdcard boot.img .....method.." with v20c img file.
In my opinion, unbricking with korean rom may have some compatibility problems in some area besides boot, recovery, firmware, band, system partitions at least in my phone.
Becasue before I perform unbrick with korean rom, I never had reboot or death problem with Ho-no bell rom, kernelpan1c, cm9 and p936 rom.
Anyway, after install v18f.exe, my phone is perfectly okay.
I hope this help some of you suffering from random reboot.

Went to CM 9.1 stable. Still rebooted.

Sorry, my apologies, I forgot how uninformative the stock display is.
You can get at what I was looking for by installing "System Panel Lite" (free) and looking under "Dev Info," and then the entry under "Fingerprint."
However, skip that and perhaps just go ahead and re-flash the baseband. I don't think it can hurt. Druminst has posted zips that install the basebands with ClockWorkMod at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30451467&postcount=1 You have to go to his "more extensive list" to get to the baseband_flashable_P930_ATT_V18f.zip file.

A OK, thanks.
Well, I will try.
After being an iphoner right from the get-go, (jailbreaker of course), i finally got bored and moved on. plus, i really wanted a big screen. so i got a gn2 about a month ago, and rooted it on my mac two weeks ago using the CWM/mac/heimdall method. i have been running the stock-but-rooted rom, and not put on a custom rom yet. i have no real good reason for this, but for pure educational purposes and a desire for complete control, and/or warranty reason should they arise, i would like to do a full unroot and restore a stock rom. BUT everywhere I look, I can easily find every possible stock rom from every carrier and every country... except at&t (sgh-i317). i know i can use other that are similar. but my question is, WHY is what is potentially the most common/popular rom of them all, NOT widely available?
second question is: ok, so it's hard to find. but does it exist at all? if so, where? i tried to flash this one, (not allowed to post the link), using the CWM console that got put on the phone when I rooted it, but is fails every time I try saying the file or rom is "bad". is it bad, or do I need to do something else? FWIW, the fail flashings of this rom do no brick my phone. it reboots normally to the stock rooted rom i've been using since I rooted it two weeks.
oops, looks like i can't post links but the sgh-i317 rom i found was at a well-known net repository of stock roms

http://www.hotfile.com/dl/181184536/fa1bbef/I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_ATT.zip.html
I haven't downloaded it, so I couldn't tell you what's in there. It might be a CWM flashable rom-only zip, or it might be odin-flashable files in there. You'll have to download and see.
Edit: Did a little more research.. That's an Odin tar file inside the zip.

I had to do a double take and make sure I wasnt writing this post. I am in almost the same boat under similar circumstances. I have been waiting for the stock rom for 2 months . I got my AT&T Note 2 in November and went through the root process and had a problem somewhere along the way and had to use a custom rom to get up and running again. Since then I have waited patiently for a stock rom to show up that would get me back to normal . My phone has been working , but my signal strength is bad and I can show 3 bars on my phone , but when I go to make a call , it drops to zero and I cannot make a call . This happens at work all the time and at home most of the times. My incoming calls are not accepted and are routed to my voice mail , which I cant listen to until I get to an area where I get a better signal . I cannot live like this for 2 years , I need this fixed . Just want to get back to stock , with no root , no custom roms , etc . I never had this problem with my iphone ! Love the Note 2 , but come on man!

Why not flash cleanrom att special edition and the correct modem. I have not had any issues with his rom. Did you do a backup of the stock rom before you flashed a custom rom? If you did go back to your stock backup.
www.stockroms.net
so i see we're all pretty junior here. none of the experienced folks have chimed in here yet.
getting back on topic, you could make a case that the att stock rom could/should be the most widely used rom in the entire gn2 world. yet it does not appear to be widely available, when the most obscure ones are. why is this?

thank you for posting that link, "member", because i couldn't. that's where i got the one that gives a "bad" or "corrupt" when i try to flash it in the CWM console.
sooo, is it corrupt? or is it user error on my part where i have to do something to the .zip file to make the CWM flash console able to use it? or do i have to flash it with mobile odin, (which i don't know how to use, yet).
-peter
ok member, i just unzipped the sgh-i317 file from stockroms and there is a .tar file in there, but "kies" is in the name of it. does that mean i have to use kies to flash it?

Hey so the only way to get back stock ATT (well the only way I know) is through ODIN. So follow these steps if you want your old AT&T unroot back, then root it again for a stock root experience.

success... i think. used mobile odinPRO to flash the rom on stockroms net then rebooted in to download mode and sure enough, there is no longer a binary count, where it used to read "1" and it shows the binaries as stock. a further check under settings>about device>status, all the way at the bottom shows device status: normal. it used to say device status: modified until this flash of the stock rom from stockroms.
now the mystery... am i still rooted? SU, Ti backup, triangle away (which i never used), and mobile odinPRO icons are still on the home screen. i do not know if these things go away automatically after unrooting or if they still hang around. but when i try to boot into the CWM recovery mode, (volume up-center home-power it boots to a similar, but stock looking interface. that makes me think it's unrooted now.
overall pretty satisfied. i'll roll like this for a few days and try to pick up the new ota update and re-root again.
thx, peter
even more success...
i picked up the ota update to 4.1.2 just as if it was totally stock--so i think now i AM totally stock, after waking up this morning rooted, and spending parts of today unrooting back to factory stock. so now i know i can do it. i'll re-root here again when i can get some time. thanks all, and i'll try to help anyone else in my boat as best i can.
-att gn2 sgh-i317, now running 4.1.2
-rooted to stock rom, then unrooted
-using a mac for rooting/syncing

i must not have had it ticked, because after reading your post above, i went to odin (still on my phone) and tried to open it and it told me i need to have root (super user) to use it. it said no such thing when i was rooted, so at this point i _think_ i'm not rooted. i'll look for the app in the app store for even more confirmation.

you sound almost like me. was with ios from the beginning, (and palm/treos before that), and i just went to android a month ago. been rooted on the stock root rom for last two.

So glad I left iOS. Even with a jailbreak it's nothing compared to android. I been rooted since day 1 and now I'm running the type 3 international stock rom by micosa. It's beautiful! Love the inverted apps for battery saving! I also have a swift flow beta keyboard and I lowered the height of the keyboard so there is more screen real estate with the keyboard up. And with s pen board switcher, I can go to handwriting mode as soon as I pull out s pen!

It all started here:
http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/44716
I griped on the T-Mobile forums about the struggle I've had in finding a smooth ROM for my T999. And I made an off-handed comment in another thread that got me pointed in the right direction hopefully. I'm looking for other T999 owners that have this problem.
The problem on DMD5 is all related to (apparently) intensive tasks. Playing games, mostly. Temple Run 2 and Fruit Ninja, neither of which are all that intensive, were nigh-on unplayable. Other games like Scramble with Friends would lag and stutter a bit, too. So after a lot of searching, I reverted to a pre-rooted T999UVDLJC with the matching baseband, so that way my phone doesn't try to update itself OTA. And performance is pretty good. But I'd like to think that I'm not alone, and I found I'm not alone in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2326763&page=33
At the bottom of this page and the top of the next one, I found at least one kindred spirit that has a rev0 phone and has the same issue with DMD5.
NO other ROM has this issue. I've tried all of the official Samsung ROMs and I have tried official CM10.1 nightlies and the official 10.1 stable release and performance is very good on all of them. But it took a huge serious nosedive on T999UVDMD5.
So I'm curious about two things:
Does DMD5 run well on your phone? Particularly with games - that's where it was most notable, but even TWLauncher is laggy for me.
How old is your phone? According to the box for my phone it was built 6/30/2012.
If you are affected, could you help us all out on the T-Mobile support forum, and post a message in my thread at the top of the page? If we can get T-Mo and/or Samsung to look into it maybe we won't get left behind. I plan on using this phone for another year or more and I'd rather get the official updates in the future, too.
Update July 6, 2013: I found out thanks to help from people in this thread that I can run mismatched modem firmware/ROM and with the JLC modem on MD5 ROM, my phone runs fantastic. Or at least it has for about 2 hours - usually issues have shown themselves by now, and since they haven't cropped up I'm calling this resolved.
When you were on MD5, how did you update to it? OTA? Odin? Recovery flashable ROM?
And how much data have you been carrying over? (When did you last wipe data/factory reset, without restoring backups?)

Btw, I'm on MD5, completely stock right now. Hw is Rev. 0
I get very little lag, if any, ever. Simple games or even intensive games run very fluidly for me.
For example, I just got Man of Steel when it went on sale and it works almost perfectly. Disney, Gameloft, EA games have all worked just fine.
The only MD5 issues I've seen around here seem to occur when someone is using a mixed build with the MD5 radio. And then its only been reports of heat issues and slight battery issues. Haven't seen much of anything regarding poor performance.

I've tried all of the above. I even let Kies install it once. I've used TriangleAway and Odin to install 4.0.4 and let it do all the OTAs. Iv'e done factory resets and I've told setup not to restore my data to the phone and started from scratch. I used a flashable ZIP with the pre-rooted ROM, and when I did that I also got the DMD5 modem flashable ZIP to go along with it. I've tried not rooted. I've tried custom kernels, and I've tried stock. Odin completely stock and flashable zip totally customized. I've played with custom DMD5-based ROMs with the v6 script and I've tried not. I'm way out of ideas right now.
Sorry, @kennyglass123, I didn't realize I'd checked that box.
Starting to think all of them have "rev 0" for the CPU identifier, so that may not be the way to tell who has what.
Just to be clear, did you ever Factory Reset, then Odin flash MD5 (not mobile odin btw), and factory reset again to ensure internal sd was cleaned out too? If for MD5, you only flashed the Rom and Modem, you would have been on a mixed build. Also, many devs suggest waiting an hour before starting with any testing or reconfiguring. I'm not convinced this is always necessary, but they do usually kno more than me!
Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to argue against your point, just to make sure not only that you've covered all angles, but that anyone who wants to back up your claim has also done the same.
As for the revision number, it may still be relevant as mine would have been among the first built too. We would need to find at least several others with the same, and different, to know for sure if it matters here.
Its always possible too that you got the unlucky pick of the hardware. (Just as possible though that I got a lucky pick)
Anyway, if you really are having that bad of problems with it, you may want to check if its still under warranty. I don't believe its the norm though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure, but I'm willing to do anything at this point. I'll do it again. I've stashed the Odin tar.md5 file on my backup hard drive, so I'll back up my working config and flash it again. Worst case scenario is that I re-root it, re-install recovery, and then restore my backup. Should take an hour max.
Use the root66 version of the firmware. Its pre rooted and is what I am running right now. Root alone won't have any negative effect, but will allow for much better troubleshooting.
Aside from that, keep it as clean from restored data as possible. Even a single corrupted contact entry can cause services to hang and eat up resources. I wouldn't even flash a recovery until you're ready to restore something.
(I use Mobile Odin Pro and it almost completely replaces the need for cwm or twrp. The only thing it can't do yet is make a nandroid backup.)

So the root66 is an Odin image? I assume you're talking about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687
I've got it downloading now. Thanks for all your suggestions. I've not heard of Mobile Odin Pro, is it a custom recovery?
Whoops - found the Mobile Odin thread on XDA and got the lite version and the T999 flashing kernel. I'll give it a go.
Regarding The AOSP MD5 issues: the same thing is happening to me on stock. Have to use LJC or the battery sucks. What are your reboot habits like?

Yes, root66 is basically just 100% stock firmware, only rooted. Itll download as a .7z file. Just extract it and use the .tar.md5. You have the correct thread.
Mobile Odin is one of my all time favorite apps. Its from Chainfire if you are familiar with him. (SuperSU)
Its not a recovery exactly. What it does is reboots using what's called a flash kernel. This allows it to flash firmware like PC Odin, but also can flash roms that are made for recovery flashing. It doesn't replace the stock recovery like cwm/twrp either, so it also won't trip the flash counter. (I know that doesn't really matter with Triangle Away available (also by Chainfire)).
The only two drawbacks, (minor imo) are that it can't create nandroids, and it doesn't flash the FULL firmware (this is by design though).
I wouldn't bother with it right now, but definitely check it out after testing all this. Theres a free, lite, version here on xda. Ill send more info from my computer later.

OK awesome, I will check it out. I think what I'm going to do right now is just reset the flash counter, flash the Odin image, and then factory reset and set it up as a new phone. Does that sound reasonable? If I reboot into CWM after triangle away, it trips the flash counter again, at least that's what it seems to do, so I can't do anything other than reboot to download after Triangle Away.

I don't reboot unless the battery dies, or I was rebooting a lot when I was on MD5 trying to get stuff to work well. Generally I try not to mess with a good thing.

That sounds fine. Remember, if you factory reset with stock recovery installed, it will wipe internal sdcard.
As long as you have cwm or twrp, the flash counter will always be at 1. I wouldn't worry about that for now though. It won't affect overall operation.

OK, I won't mess with it too much then. I've backed up my internal storage already and I've backed up my SMS using SMS Backup and Restore. That thing has been very handy keeping copies of my texts while I screw with this.

OK I got as far as the factory reset and then it was time to paint. My daughter's bedroom wasn't going to paint itself. I finally came back to the phone and it was patiently waiting for me to log in. I logged in and installed just a couple apps while I ate lunch, and then it sat until we were done painting and cleaning up. Logged into Facebook and Twitter, set up Google Now and updated Samsung apps. Once all that was done, I fired up Temple Run 2 and it was OK at first, but within 3-4 minutes it was choppy and laggy again. The phone never got warm to the touch. It just ran poorly. I exited out and killed all apps with the built-in task manager, and went back to the game. Not really any better. It's just super choppy. I even turned down all the graphics options in the settings for the game and that made zero difference.
Eventually I gave up. Restored my 4.1.1 backup, fired up some stuff, performance was great. It's just the combination of my phone and that software. No idea what it is at this point. I do appreciate all the assistance you guys have lent me.
Right now I'm on T-mo and was waiting out the 60 days before I ported my wife's number in to my account. Now that that's over, I'll eventually port in her number. She's extremely happy with her iPhone 4s and insists she's not interested in an iPhone 5, so what I'll probably do is use the ability to get new hardware as an excuse to get a Galaxy S4. WHen I first came to T-mo I just got a SIM and bought the phone used - found out later on that I should have just bought a phone through T-mo because I can't get a new phone on a payment plan for a year unless it's as part of a new line. She'll be a new line, so I'll get a phone.
This hasn't put me off on Samsung or even on the GS3 - it's just my phone has a weird issue of some sort. And the people here have been super awesome. Thanks tons for all your advice. In the meantime I'll run JLC and leave well enough alone.

OK I see it there. So I should use the LJC modem/firmware with the DMD5 debloat ROM you're going to PM the link for to me? Will they work if they're mismatched? I assumed (not that I'd bothered asking before) that they'd all have to be the same.
I like lg's hardware. I had optimus 3d and now have optimus g. Both has great hardware.
I have flashed custom roms since windows mobile days, so i should have a little experience..!
But you can never be sure to flash safely especially with Lg. You can loose your imei, baseband...etc
And now i have kernel crash on my loved optimus g... A demogod kernel crash. I can boot in cwm but cant restore system. It restore boot and then system restoring fails. I can also boot in android and after a few seconds it crashes. So it doesnt stay long enough to be fx recognized by pc to save it. Pc doesnt recognize it even in download mode. You can't blame LG for a mishandeling YOU made.
I had HTC's and Samsung in the past, they all present a "bricking" potential if you start to fool around with Kernel, custom rom, etc.
Now, you should try to restore it back to stock to see if it fixes your issues.

Yes, I've read your post: You've flashed a custom rom and now get a kernel error.
Go back to stock in download mode using KDZ updater and you should be ok.

And, as I already told, LG can't be blame for anything other than running stock. Even if you only root the device and crash it, you can't blame em for this.

Rooted and unlocked with a custom bootloader is not stock. You can have a lot of issue with the wrong bootloader. I once did!
Get it back to stock with the KDZ, you'll know if it's a software issue and if it's related to the custom/unlocking/rooting.

This topic is not about update, it's about a bugus kernel. Don't mix things up please!
Finally... I figured it out. I have used the old KDZ updater and after tons of try, i did it. But again as i said no more LG... Maybe we should stick with a phone that has a sd slot. : )
A sum of what i did
1- find a stock rom from http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
2-Get old KDZ updater i have uploded and remove zip from the name
3-In KDZ updater choose 3GQCT and i think it was cs emergency, i am not sure and choose your kdz file and finally launch software update
4-Connect your phone in download mode to pc. KDZ updater has kicked the phone out of download mode and couldnt find the phone. Just try again and connect phone again while it extracts kdz file. You could also try different usb ports as i did.
Thats all.

Can't blame on lg. I see a ip***e fired, my s2 baseband fu***d, all companies made there best. Maybe it's about damaged/dropped phone.
aren't threads/guides on rooting, flashing custom roms/kernels had warned you about a potential bricked device? sometimes it pays to understand/accept what we read.
Dont blame our root or unlocking methods. One day after unlock and root, my battery drain in 4 hours. I even cant flash custom android 4.2.2 ROM.Even twrp doesnt work, appears a black screen. One day i uninstalled NFC apk. And thats it. Everything go back to normal. I dont know why Android 4.2 ROMS dont work on my device in that time, but the battery problem was NFC.

Fully working on my 6045I. Its stock 5.0.2 from TCL I806.
Many chinese apps have been removed but still few remains which can be removed by getting root.
Features:
1. Less Lags.
2. Fast.
3. Camera is working far better than the recent updates provided for 6045I.
How to install:
Caution : Before doing this, please make backup of your system & efs as mentioned by Famewolf in his thread of making backups.
1. Just download the zip from the link provided below and keep it in the root of sdcard.
2. Also download the gapps provided in the links. First link is which I installed on my device and second one is the latest. Keep it also in the root of the sdcard.
3. Now just boot into recovery mode i.e. TWRP , do not wipe anything, script will do it itself and just go to install and choose the stock chinese rom for 6045I.zip and flash.
4. Let the process to complete. It will ask to restart the system and just restart the system.
5. After first start choose language and other options, again boot into recovery mode and flash the gapps provided.
6. Here the stock chinese rom will run smoothly on your 6045I.
7. If TWRP gives error "error in executing binary" then you have to manually edit the updater-script but it depends on what your TWRP says about the error. So just ask me I will tell you what changes to make in updater-script.
After couple of manual restarts or with time rom will start to run smoothly.

First of all I am not a established developer still learning android system...... if anything creates problems after flashing this rom or after installing, dont blame me..
Proudly present the rom for Idol 3 6045I ported from it Chinese sibling TCL I806.
Caution : Before doing this, please make backup of your system as mentioned by Famewolf in his thread of making backups.

Woohoo. Gonna download this!!!
For screenshots of rom visit this page : http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/idol-3-source-code-available-t3180369/page14
Now going to sleep, as have to go office in morning......
Quick question. Can this rom read/write ExFat? I'd rather have my sd card formatted to that so that i can store larger movie files.
Are there any real noticeable differences besides less lag and fast? Those two mean almost the same thing. Does this ROM offer anything major that the US stock ROM doesn't? Awesome work though making a new ROM for the community to try. We appreciate your work. :good:

One enhancement I read about was that it did have newer camera software. Many of the packages included are newer version levels than the ones included on our phones because the i806 came out after our models.

You should consider removing the system update checker from your custom rom. The icon appears in your screenshots so I'm assuming it's still included. Since the build.prop says it's a 6045i but it has the i806 codebase patches will never apply since the checksum's won't match.....so depending on what "version" it thinks it's on vs the update version the update checker will either never show an update or always show an update.
OK. I think I have this working. The ROM seems to be functional for me. Downloading all my apps now and getting it set up how I like. Will try to run it through the day tomorrow and see what I like and don't like... not expecting much difference over stock, but we'll see.
Anyone have a suggestion for a lollipop compatible "minimal gapps?" I'm really only interested in google play and gmail..no need for google+ etc.

I might still have a PA micro gapps file somewhere. Just need to see if it's 5.0 or 5.1.
Edit: Here you go. Just pick up the zero gapps. It works perfectly.

Another option is the Slimgapps official thread here. They do have a "zero gapps" package, and both 5.x I think.

Yupp bro.
Just edit build.prop with notepad++ and change it to 6045Y instead of 6045I and flash the rom.
Then check the log of TWRP specially before the error in executing updater binary.
It will say something about the check_cu.
If you will open updater script with notepad++ you will see first line of command saying "check_cu("6045I-2AALUS7");"
Just change this line ("6045I-2AALUS7") with the line shown in the TWRP similar to this ( something like 6045Y-XXXXXXX)
Then again flash the rom, gapps and hope it will work.
If it works, dont forget to hit thanks button
Ok... I'll see, my phone is less than one week old and I swore myself that this one would be kept untouched for a year. I wanted to keep it clean for warranty purpose but one week later... I'm already rooted.
I'm kind of flashaholic so won't resist very long... Don't worry.
What will it update exactly? Is there a risk it will mess up the European radio part? Just to make sure I'll still get a good signal or loose imei.
I do have my twrp backup for boot and system image, will that be enough to get back to a previous working state?
Thanks,

I rooted my phone the next day it came to me,
Eventually i am also not going to get warranty as I imported this device from US to India.
N I personally dont care about warranty as none of the android device gets bricked completely, there is always a way.
Like I got stucked in bootloops in try of porting cm12.1 from other device.Even my backups failed to boot. Then I followed the mobile updater app provided by Alcatel and it simply restored my device to factory rom which will get updates also.
N warranty will not work if the device got physically damaged.
Yes backup will work.
After flashing this rom I would suggest you to make TWRP backup of this rom also alongwith Stock one.
I am getting a lot of range in network selection as it contains all the radios available for this device.
Screenshots of network range:

It's much safer to mod now since with Version 4.9.2 of the Mobile Q software from alcatel (you have to tell it you have a "pixi" for that version to appear as it's so new) allows you to put the phone in "download mode" and fully restore the device to factory condition. (tested by multiple idol 3 users of both the 6039 and 6045) This goes a long way towards making the device unbrickable.

I agree with you bro......:good::good:
Thanks both for your answers. Yes the Alcatel restore software makes things way easier to fix. I already installed it yesterday to make sure my phone drivers are installed for any "phone state". I also have the android sdk installed.
By the way, I am thinking to bring my small contribution to this forum by creating an " ultimate list of mods/softwares/issues" for this phone.
There have been so many news and achivements in the past few weeks, it's a bit difficult to read everything in the correct order.
So last question, how about the radio, imei, etc... Any risk on this?
And then, I think I'll give it a try.

In my opinion no risk of losing imei no. and radio modems

I'm attaching a platform.xml file already modded to allow full read/write access to the external sd (just drop the .zip off the filename as that was just to get xda to allow me to upload it...it's a text file)....you might find it useful to replace this in yours.(/etc/permissions)..other options include pre-rooting...adding in init.d support....etc.
Ran this ROM overnight and through most of my day so far (about 3 hours off the charger). First impression is that it's about the same as stock, not that I was expecting any different. You get the TCL splash screen at boot but the overall UI is pretty much the same. Since I now have root I went ahead and used app quarantine to freeze the bloatware apps I didn't want. Kinda wishing I had installed minimal gapps, but I figure I'll be reflashing again soon since the floodgates are probably about to open with new ROMS anyway.
Conclusion: If you're curious, flash it, it doesn't hurt anything. It may be a hair smoother, and I haven't really tested the camera extensively enough before or after to be able to tell a difference.
Edit: Literally as soon as I submitted this message (from my PC) I went to turn wi-fi off and the phone decided to reboot. Really odd.
