does anyone know how to remove blootware completely? I'm running d855 16gb 10a uk o2 rooted
I used titanium backup to freeze all the ATT bloatware on my device. You can delete apps there as well.

There isn't that much bloatware. I did a full factory wipe and when you do the setup wizard it will ask if you which LG apps you want to install.
This is meant for the QnA

I've a sim free 32GB germany version. So I don't have any network bloatware, but O2 are normally quite good.
I've freezed the following:
- Cell Broadcast
- EasyHome
- File Manger
- LG Health
- Music 4.20
- Smart Tips
- Smart Notice
- Smartshare
Unsure if safe to remove apps:
- LG GNSS
- LG Intelligent Agent
- LTeConfigs
- WAP Service
- Wfd service (This controls you wi-fi, remove at your own risk)
Smartshare (suite) I kept this as it seems dormant unless you use it.
The only ones that interest me are the one running in the background and they are:
LGSmartcardService (Linked to Simcard?)
LIA S4URecommender
MrGDBLoggerService
Use titanium back up here's what I froze

My bloatware has completely vanished (Three UK) Since I flashed the SphinX Neo ROM my device seems to have un-branded itself. If I restore to stock with the Three UK KDZ, the boot screen is still LG and not Three, all of the three bloat is gone and the device is pure LG stock
Just FYI you dont need Ti backup to 'freeze' those apps. You can just uninstall them from the phone like any other app. I was quite surprised when i tried and it let me. Usually ATT has that crapped locked down and wont let you delete it all. Very impressed with the phone so far. And im not unlocked or rooted yet haha.
Actually looks like when i remove a bloatware app, it doesnt actually delete it but instead disables it and removes it from my app drawer. Which is still better than nothing and about the same as freezing it in Ti.

Same happened with me. I re-flashed my O2 firmware after the Sphinx ROM and I have a pure LG stock device now also.. But O2 only add splash screen and a few apps which can be removed anyway.

So strange haha I wonder why it happens?
I've noticed that on using stock. If you disable apps through app manager, when you hard reset, it seems to remember the apps you have disabled and asks you whether you want to install them again. Nice touch!
Did anyone else notice that now AT&T has pre-installed Facebook, and twitter? This made me so mad because you could only disable them, and not uninstall them without root. So I deleted them via titanium, but forcing social media on people is a new low. What are the implications for receiving an OTA if we completely debloat?
Also about this wonderful social media. I noticed that receiving a text wakes Twitter. Idk what's up with that or what the purpose is but I shut that down with greenify (cut its wake-up path). These apps are becoming more and more intrusive. Just like how SwiftKey wakes Facebook even if you don't have it setup to learn from Facebook. It's all sketch if you ask me.

Just a question.. what is android.process.acore? It uses a huge amount of battery and also requires root access?
Does anyone know what android.process.acore is? sorry for double posting

Its a system function so disabling it would really not be a good idea. And system apps technically have root AFAIK
I used battery mix and saw that android.process.acore uses 90% battery.
But while my phone is in idle the battery is awesome. 1% in 8 hours, but if i start using it, the battery drops faster then normal.(Not comparing to while the phone is idle, but comparing to when it was stock).
I was wondering if it also have something to do with the modem? I am using the Rogers I317MVLALJ2.

Hmmmm acore never calls for super user permission. Its a system app so it kind of already has it so showing up in the log is a bit of cause for concern. Do you have any apps that you use a lot that utilize contacts or sms that might want root? like a different contacts app or messaging app because a bug in either of those could do it

Wrong, it's your contact storage. Not google contacts, just regular. To OP, try wiping the data (for contacts storage.)
I think i found what caused it. I changed the SuperSU android.pricess.acore to prompt so it would ask again for permission. Found out it was caused by GO Task Manager EX. Removed go task manager and everything appears to be normal.
If the problem persists, then I am going wipe data on contacts with Titanium backup.
On Battery Mix the android.process.acore droppes down to 50% hoping it would drop more by using other application as it all adds up to be 100%
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
I just re-rooted mine (after losing it because of the 0.7.2 update), and now I'm getting this exact thing from SuperSU for this same process.
Is there any more info out there on this?
I don't want to keep something that's supposed to have it from having root, but I don't just want to grant it to whatever wants it either. Seems to me like a system app that needs root should know how to get it, and I shouldn't be able to deny it root anyway.
I do also have Go TaskManager though like the OP. So, I will remove that and see if it goes away.
If it does go away with the removal of Go TaskManager, what does that mean?
Thanks.
I just sent a support request e-mail to the Go folks. I will try to remember to report back here when/if I get more info on this issue...
I have wipe the phone 3 times, but still have the process.android.acore.
i used twrp
wipe cache, wipe delvik, wipe system, wipe internal, factory reset
First time wiped but backed up with titanium back up.(along with go task manager) --- process.android.acore remained
Second time wiped but backed up with titanium back up also, wiped contacts storage also. WITHOUT Go task manager --- process.android.acore remained
But did not request root for process.android.acore, But by using Battery Mix. The process.android.acore still drains battery 80%+ usage.
Third time, wiped phone but WITHOUT backup anything. --- process.android.acore is still there
so i gave up.... but my battery is good after the third wipe.
But i am also using the newest perseus kernel with the Profile 5 settings. Not sure if it is because of the kernel that the battery is better but is still draining in the background.
I am using the newest Go Task Manager EX advance kill.. which requires root for the program. But it should be asking for the Go task manager root but instead of that.. it is asking for process.android.acore
Unless you are installing a specialized hacker Rom. Nothing stock(fresh flash) should ask for super user ever.

Looking for a solution myself to o...I tried some app called 'disable services' from the playstore and disabled carrier IQ service...but I think it is turning itself on again after reboot...however the iqd process memory usage goes down to 2 mb after disabling and running services under android system shows 0, so maybe it does not remove ciq but disables it
Edit - it seems the 2 files related to ciq are under /system/lib - libIQ_client.so, libiq_service.so
If you are rooted, these 2 files can be deleted...but it may cause serious issues ( bootloops, force closes etc) ..I will try deleting these files sometime later, when I have more time to work on the phone

I've read through a bunch of posts on this and agree that the GPS will turn on for no reason. Today was a good example it was on most all of today and I have no idea why.
So I decided to look around and while playing with Disable Service app from the market I found something about Carrier IQ. I can disable it so I did. Since doing so this afternoon my GPS hasn't been on and I cannot report any ill effects. Does it work? You be the judge... by the way this will require root access on your phone. My results are based on a brand new stock AT&T Optimus G Pro, well stock with root.
Process:
1. go to Google Play market and install "Disable Service" by WANGQI060934
2. open the app, swipe sideways to System Apps page
3. look for Android System, click on it
4. click on IQService to uncheck it
5. be happy!
I have confirmed this remains disabled after reboot. :good:

Thanks for this I will report back in 24 Hours since the service itself seems to turn itself back on. also the "main process" still is loaded in Running Apps>Android System and it cut itself from 5mb to 2.5mb by disabling it.

Yeah, definitely DO NOT delete or rename those 2 files. It caused android.phone to force close. It also stopped my ability to receive text messages.
I deleted the Carrier IQ after backing it up with Titanium BU and that did not affect anything. Renaming those 2 remaining files, however, did affect things.

GPS, Stock AT& LG OG Pro - Further Developments???
Without a doubt I need advise and assistance with this GPS issue.
I activated my new LG Optimus G Pro Saturday. The GPS began turning itself on yesterday so, I went to Settings and discovered it was on. I disabled it with the soft toggle switch, but had to repeat this several times throughout the day. This is annoying! This morning I turned the phone on GPS came on right away so, I checked Settings and it is disabled. No quality concern here...
I see I can download an application from the Play Store to disable, but also noted the update to a newer version of Android.
Please advise regarding my best option for be rid of this nonsense.
The steps I posted above should work for you. It still works for me on latest 10p software update.

I found and downloaded the 'Disable Service', but have not determined a known safe method to root my e980. Bin4ry's method appears to be suitable, but I need to read more. I also noticed the Asian version of Root Master being discussed as a universal method for rooting, but the warning regarding its use caused me to search for Bin4ry's method.
the asian version worked fine for my att lg e98010.what warning are u talking about worked fine for me
I am coming from Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 and I have installed many apps with no issues. When I moved to Note 3, the same apps that were running just fine in the Nexus 5 and 7 start to have problem:
- Apps opened up, perform certain activity, crashed
- Apps opened up, vertical and horizontal scrolling is really laggy
These apps are like Pocket Informant (calendar app), Pocket Money (financial app), and Shiprack (package tracking), just to name a few.
Seeing all these apps functions well in the Nexus series, the problem seems to point to something within the Note 3.
I am rooted, stock, Knox is NOT tripped. I turned off all animation (0) in the Developer settings. I frozen some built-in apps (see below). Is there anything in Note 3 that I need to UNFROZE or anything I need to do to fix this problem? It's kinda hard to like the Note 3 when the same apps that works well in other phone just quit working...

Yeah, many of these are widgets, or things like Google+, which I froze in my old Nexus phone and tablet with no issue.
I scrutinized each app that I froze to figure out what are its function to make sure it won't cause problem. But it seems something is tied with TouchWiz or vice versa. For example, if i turned off animation, rearranging apps in folder sometimes crash TouchWiz, which is bizarre by itself.
Do you mind letting me know which apps did you freeze? Screenshot is appreciated.

How about battery life? Don't those stuff keeps running in the background?
If I do a hard reset, will:
- all frozen apps are unfrozen?
- all xposed module uninstalled and system settings like battery icon reverted back?
I am rooted, stock with no KNOX trip
I may have to do this to fix the issues I am having.

Just unfreeze everything. Just remember, Nexus means pure AOSP. Samsung means TouchWiz, which has a ton of things needed to run "correctly."

Just because something is running in background doesn't mean it is using the battery. This phone has lot of memory compared with most so for the most part it doesn't really matter.
Things that use the battery a lot are apps that use the Radio, actively use GPS and bluetooth being on. I only have BT on when I am using it in the truck. I always have GPS on because I don't use many apps that actively use it (Google maps uses it when you are navigating or have it active on the screen, but stops using it when you put it in the background).
Battery life is really in hands of the user and how they use their phone and what apps they choose to use.
For me, I get typical 15hrs of life in my phone (that would be down to the 20's% area) which is more than adequate for me.
I don't have time to play games and my phone is required for business so if the phone doesn't ring when someone calls, notify me when a page comes in or I cant make a call when I need to or access data that I need to access, it is useless to me.
As a result, I don't load different roms, play with kernals and do a lot of tweaking because that typically ends up with something not working.
I do have the ability to quick charge my phone at just about every where I go. So if I know I am going somewhere where I will be hanging out for a long time, I can do a quick charge to make sure I can do it. My truck, each computer station at work and home has 2amp charging available which charges as quick as the original charger that comes with the phone. I rarely need to do that however.
When I rooted for 4.4.2 I blew the Knox flag. No longer cared. At one time I thought I might need it for work but that is not going to be the case and I am confident that if I have a real hardware issue it will be covered with the coverage that I have on the phone.

Yeah, I have done that, but some issues still happen, namely the apps that I use. It could be just the apps, but I am trying to narrow down the problem.
I have used Samsung phone before (Galaxy Note 1 and S4 Active) and even HTC phone. Freezing built-in apps never caused this kind of issue (3rd party apps from Google Play crashed), as long as I don't freeze those I know is essential (for example, I won't freeze "Phone" or "Touchwiz"). If you see from my screenshot above, although I freeze a lot of apps, most are widgets and apps like Google Music, etc.
However, It seems that with Note 3, Samsung make Touchwiz more integrated.
[UPDATE]
Unfreezing ALL the apps I previously froze did not fix the problem. I rebooted, pull the battery, etc.
So I did a hard reset and...lo and behold, all the issues I had disappeared - the apps downloaded from Google Play no longer crashing or have scrolling lag.
There must be something in Touchwiz that "hooks" to these 3rd party apps, though I don't know what it is. It is quite interesting that Samsung will do this (first Knox, now this?), when I didn't have this problem with previous Samsung phone when I installed the SAME EXACT apps and Xposed module.
I will try to freeze the built-in app one-by-one and see if there is any issue there.
Here's one:
I have an app called "Wakelock Detector". It's a fabulous app to show what apps are trying to keep the CPU awake. It makes it very easy to see what is eating the battery.
So, my battery was being eaten and the back of the Note was actually hot. I fired up WakeLock Detector to find out what was doing the damage. What I got when it fired up was a blank screen that said: "Access permissions was changed in KitKat, Now, advanced statistics need ROOT access "
So, this app is now worthless to me since KitKat installation. Any other apps that no longer work?
Multiwindow plus didnt work. Ive loved this app, but i cannot use anymore.
and flash player. Flash player is not working anymore. Some users find a method to play flash with Dolphin. But i use stock and boat only. That method dont work with stock and boat browser.
Chromecast and Muzei for sure. Muzei freezes when trying to adjust blur and chromecast gives a system.ui force close.
Zattoo TV is stuttering sometimes

FileSync does not work for me any longer as I had it sync directories on the micro SD card and it can no longer add or remove files. This means to me that this has become an expensive toy unless I root it. Since I can no longer have a working directory on external memory where I want it and have that directory it updated. Yet I used to be able to have a single file updated on my tablet and pc and show it on my phone. My phone will be the next victim in this as it is a Note 3 and now I'm not looking forward to it. For now if I edit a file on my pc I have to remember to copy it to a location that my tablet can get access to and remember to do that before I leave the house. Now I'm sure if I moved the directory to the internal storage it may be working again.
Astro file manager can no longer add or remove files from the micro SD card.
I understand that Google is trying to own/secure the OS and locking down or removing external storage - if I had their money maybe I would not be as concerned about data caps and would never be without internet access. Yet I do not have their money and I do have data caps, only wish we had cable internet service - could even live with DSL. Having the external memory card allows me to be away from my pc for longer periods of time - and now I need both my pc and my tablet in order to sync. The 2 main reasons I purchased this tablet was the Spen and the availability of the micro SD card. Now after KitKat half my reason is gone.
In regard to the apps that have problems, do they have problems only under 10.1 2014 (with KitKat upgraded) or also on PRO 12.2 with KitKat?

Why would there be? With the Pro's and N10.1-14 being identical h/w wise the s/w code base for 4.4 is most likely the same with features tweaked by device and region. There could be some individual ROM bugs but the next time any of the Pro's get an update new bugs could be introduced for them to. Every feature reported so far is identical to the Pro 10.1 with the exception of us not getting M-UX and the newer keyboard design. That and e-Meeting which is now the only Pro-specific add-on we don't have access to (for now).
Update: e-Meeting's available for download for those on 4.4.

What Chromecast app causes problems? I can run Pandora, Play Music, Youtube and Streambels to Chromecast without issue.

I still use it with KitKat
The only app I've found so far is Recordable (a screen recording app). This app is definitely in its infancy, though, and the problem I'm having is that the non-root solution no longer seems to work (connecting it to a desktop to get around root). l'm sure something has changed in the non-root work-around. Strangely, Helium Backup non-root still works, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with all root work-around apps.
Documents To Go has an sure displaying menus accessed from options button.

I use the multiwindow mod (via the play store) to add the mutilwindow functionality to addition apps. Some have said this no longer works, others say it does. Can users of this confirm if it still works or not? Thanks!
just tried the free version and it's was running.
I tuned some apps to do same job without needed to buy full version, you can take a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732203
my tab is very usefull with all my favorites apps available in multiwindow.

Adding mutiwindow function of "Multiwindow Apps Manager" or "MW Pen App Enabler" is still work. What i mean in my previous post is that quad view and floating dock function of "Multiwindow Plus" are not working. Some user said quad view is still working, but not work with my Note. I think they are luckier than me. and floating dock mode is not working i think...

This is really stupid Sammy! I downloaded your Kindle app for Samsung devices from your Galaxy store so I can take advantage of a free book once a month, but now I have 2 Kindle apps in my app drawer, and I can't disable the BLOATWARE one that came stock.
Since Apple has announced lately that iPhone users will soon be able to uninstall pre-installed BLOATWARE apps, the simple iPhone is looking tempting (lol! Just kidding I'm always been a Note fan).
But STILL!!!

Weird. My GFs Note 4 was able to remove the standard Amazon Kindle app a few months ago. She also uses the free book option on the Samsung Kindle app. Maybe something has changed with the Note 5 and that app.

If you uninstall the app updates, and then try to disable it, it goes through the prompt as if it will disable, yet it will remain in the app drawer.
I installed the Samsung's version of the Kindle app before I uninstalled the stock Kindle updates. Maybe that might be the issue. I dunno.
Also, I'm really irritated with Sammy's white backgrounds.
Well, I got it to disable and disappear! This is how I did it.
After Unregistering the Samsung kindle app. I then uninstalled it, leaving only the stock kindle app shown.
I then cleared the system cache on the Samsung Note 5 by:
1) Turning off the Samsung Note 5
2) Press and hold the Volume Up, Power and Home buttons at the same time until the Android logo shows up and the phone vibrates
3) Then let go of the Power button and continue to hold the other buttons
4) Use the volume buttons to scroll down to highlight Wipe Cache Partition
5) Press the Power button
6) Scroll down to Yes and press the Power button
7) Scroll to Reboot System Now and press Power

Your Note 5 will reboot with a cleared system cache.
I then went into the App Manager and found the stock kindle app and tried "once again" to disable it. However, this time it disappeared from the app drawer.
I then re-installed the Samsung's Kindle app from the Galaxy app store.
It's now all good!
I clicked disable and it was gone.
Sounds like the icon was just being cached in the app drawer for whatever launcher you're using. Just clearing the cache of the launcher (or even rebooting) probably would have worked as well.
Regardless, glad you already worked it out.

Ran into something similar with the pre-installed instagram, which is actually just a link to download/install instagram from play store I think. Anyway I've always used a customized instagram from OGMods which allows download of pics, but since I can't uninstall the preloaded version, and I can't install the custom version since an existing version exists... annoying!

I have it, already tried - even disabled the other one won't install - I think as long as the com.instagram.andoroid exists, it won't let another one install.

EDIT - I got lucky, the dev has a companion app called OGInsta+, which allow multiple accounts, which I was able to install even though the normal Instagram+ would not.
