Yes. Just google and find the apk and sideload it. It works fine.
You could download it using this http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

On your original out of the box rom? Mine didn't but it was included along with a huge amount of lg bloatware when I installed a posted kdz which was allegedly a generic one.

Yeah on the original out of the box rom - maybe my carrier added it
Install the Amazon app store and then install the Amazon app from there.

Anyone have trouble using the pre-installed Amazon? I can't connect successfully to Kindle or even the main Amazon storefront.
I ended up deleting them with TiBU, then reinstalling from Amazon, to get things working.

Amazon MP3 has an update, and it doesn't automatically start anymore. I know most of you still consider it "bloatware", but at least they made an effort.
I updated and rebooted. Sure enough, no Amazon MP3 running in the background. Nice.
New in v1.8.29:
* “Auto-resume downloads” (was “Monitor connection”) setting is disabled by default
* App no longer starts in the background unless “Auto-resume downloads” is enabled or device language changes
Not bad at all, thanks for the update
how do i update this app on my G2?

Just downoad it from the market. If you see that you now have two amazon mp3 app uninstall the newly downloaded app. Fyi the youtube when it was first released wasn't seen as an update in the market but after installing it did appear as an update.

Hey, guys.
I downloaded some free apps of the day from Amazon's Appstore that now cost money. However, Google's Marketplace sees that I have that app and there's an update for it but I can't download it. So, right now it just sits there under my apps claiming to have an update. However, since I didn't pay for it through Google Marketplace, it wants me to pay for it before I can update it.
Is there anyway to fix this to let Google Marketplace be where I update all of my apps? OR is there anyway to make Google Marketplace know the app I got from Amazon is paid for and I'll update it through Amazon?
For example, I have CardioTrainer free version through Amazon. Google Market will update the app, but then Amazon will re-download an update for it. Then Google will then say there's a new update for it. And then Amazon will re-download an update for it. So, the updating just goes in circles here. Help, please. Thanks!
can amazon apps. stick with the original marketplace. what is the benifit of getting it from the amazon app store insted? do you like drm?
I'd estimate 90% of amazon app store users only have it for the free paid app of the day, lol.
OP: I've never had an issue with Android Market fighting with Amazon app store. Don't download the same app from Android that you get from Amazon. Just let Amazon maintain the apps you buy/get free from them.

I already told you: The free app of the day.
Although, you can call me a cheap bastard, I suppose, and tell me to just buy the freakin' app on Google Marketplace. So, there's that.
Happened to me as well. I booted into cwm and wiped cache and dalik cache and issue went away.
are you getting ther market to request update but not amazon. Thats my issue. Market says update available amazon doesn't but through market I always fail to install.
Clearing cache and dalvik didn't help me . Thanks for any more help.

Its going to happen sometimes when one had a newer version then the other. Not much we can do to change it.
I don't think that this has ever happened to me, and I have like all of the free app of the days (although not all of them installed).
I guess what somehow happened is that they got attached to the Android Market. You can detach them using Titanium Backup. Just long press on the app and it will give you the option. I'm not sure if it works in the regular version; I have the pro version.

You should no your homework before mouthing off!
amazon number one place for drm free mp3s
amazon allows me to purchase angry birds for a small one time fee and never see a stupid ad again. open your mind, do not just believe, do not act as though google is another religion.
everyone should use more then one source, people here at XDA should know that more then anyone else!!
once your market is updated, side-loaded apps, shouldn't show in the play market.

How about not necroing a 9 month old thread over a reply that added no value to the topic. Let it die.
I used a cracked version before of some apps. Now I want to buy them, and.. I can't.
I see on the market what I have purchased that app, but I can't download it, because I'm getting an error that I haven't paid for an app. Which is true.
So how then I can buy it? How to make Android market believe, that I don't have that app?

Props on coming clean.
Use TB to backup app data.
Uninstall.
Install through market.
Restore data.
Hi,
Thanks for quick reply.
I did that already. I uninstalled the cracked app, deleted appdata and cache before uninstall. Restarted the phone, but still in the market I see that I "purchased" the app.
App is not on my phone, but Google thinks that I purchased the app.
I tried to uy the app using pc and browser. Still the same.

This seems to be a serious flaw in the newest implementation of Google Play. Every app you install, even if you got it from GetJar or Amazon or XDA, Google saves that info to the cloud. If it's a paid app, the cloud thinks you purchased it - except that when you try to download it, Google won't let you because you didn't purchase it there. The web store, viewed from a desktop, gets confused too. So there's no way to actually buy the damn app.
I'm currently experiencing this with SetCPU (downloaded free from author's thread on XDA but the newest version isn't there) and Smart Office 2 (was free on GetJar but they don't have latest version).
Ironic workaround - you have to hack the HTML to force Google to let you buy the app! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23356474&postcount=18
Hey all, I have a Rogers NFC Sim for my S3 running the latest CM 10.1 nightly. I was looking to use the CIBC Mobile Payment App available in the Play Store here. Of course it won't appear in the Store on my device because the device identifies itself differently than a stock Rogers S3, so I grabbed the APK from here, however the app simply won't install when I open it from my file explorer.
How can I forcibly install this app? My hardware is compatible with this app so this should just be a question of using some magic to trick the APK into installing.

There's no way it HAS to be unless there is some specific dependency on TouchWiz. Whether or not it's easy or recommended is difference.

I'm trying yet again to get mobile payment working on my phone as well.
I'm simply astonished that nobody has ever found an actual way to hide rooting on a phone. I'm not a developer, but really, how hard could it possibly be? if we have root we should be able to do ANYTHING to trick an app that doesn't have root in to not knowing root is there. why hasn't anyone come up with a sandbox for these stupid apps yet???
(and don't show me links to any of the dozens of "root hiding" apps, I've never found a single app that checks for root that is fooled by any of these.)
anyone figured out a workaround yet?
Stopped being an issue ages ago for me (this thread is 3 years old). The CIBC app now works happily on many more devices, including rooted ones.

Maybe try in a thread for that device. This is the SIII thread.
Just got my G3 yday and noticed its not an calculator app. I researched and noticed some ppl have it and some dont. Did the software update remove the calculator or it was never on the phone?
Try Settings->About Phone->Update Center->App Updates->Idle Apps
You can install and uninstall LG apps from here. Maybe yours didn't come pre-installed with calculator but the app should be available to all G3 users.
You can find much better ones on the app store anyway. Been using a really good scientific Casio clone one for nearly a year now.
