Anyone got there G3 to tether?I got the att version and need tethering...thanks I advanced...

I am using PDAnet+ and the Foxfi key (license) that also works with PDAnet+ and I have tethered 4GB since yesterday with no issues. USB and Bluetooth work, I have not tried WiFi tether with Foxfi, as T-Mobile gives 3GB of free WiFi tether so I just use USB to bypass.
re
im curious about this as well.. i have foxfi and it works great on my s4 in wifi mode.
Hoping that foxfi works in wifi mode :victory:

Thanks drock, it worked...if you have the unlimited data grandfathered, then you are unable to tether...but if your on the new plans, tethering is included...as for me I got the unlimited grandfathered data and this method worked...now I just might keep this G3...but I'm I the edge with this now since they released the G3 prime with the 805 chip set in Korea...thanks again...

Is there a way to tether on a TMobile S3 without rooting the phone?
While the S3 is an awesome phone, not having tethering sucks. I travel alot and hate to pay for internet.
Please help. Would be used for an Vista Windows laptop and the Asus Transformer TF101 android tablet.
S3 has built in wifi hot spot, just pay t-mobile the tethering fee
why don't you want to root? It's pretty simple to do so, and the benefit is great.
Try foxfi some people say it works other say it doesn't.

Iv actually tried using foxfi but it's not on the market anymore but my bro has an s2 and he got it works perfect for him.
What's keeping you from rooting?

Last i checked wifi tether with Foxfi was unsupported for our phones. However bluetooth tether worked perfect for me stock unrooted. And I gta ask same question as above, why not just root? You bought a Samsung. Now show it.
Try going to http://foxfi.com/bin and side loading it.
If you go to the play store and look at the Fox fi add on app the site is listed in the description.

As long as you have T-mobile 5GB or more plan and it is not their new unlimited plan that is coming out in a few weeks you have free hotspot.

The Android Preferred Data plan (5gb for $20) doesn't have hotspot included. Just fyI.

I have 5GB for $20 per month and tethering is included so no rooting required - I thought hotpot is included as well but I've never tested it as I don't need it.

ClockworkMod Tether (no root) (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGEudGV0aGVyIl0.) worked for me. Note that this is USB cable tethering and you need to install a driver on the computer so it won't work on the tablet.

yeah, I use ClockworkMod also. Just make sure not use IE, but use Chrome with UA spoofer (android). When I try to use IE, i got redirected to tmo signup website.
Just tried FOXFI as evercleardoc suggested. It's not working. Maybe it's not compatible with Clcoworkmod?

Tested it on netflix through my PS3. Was gone try BF3 but there was an update. So, I'm cool now til a new root method is found.

My first Android phone is the Samsung Infuse 4g, I dumped it after a month for the reason that when I rooted it and tether on my iPad, att detected and sent me a message that I am tethering.
Now I wanted an Android because of the so boring iPhones, owning for so long, and it looks like a free toy on a box of serial now with those large android phones.

Yes, you read it right!
I stopped by a T-mo store today to look for a case for my wife's phone
and I know very well the sales person.
He told me that T-mo replaced the free 500 MB tether (on Unlimited data plan),
with free 2.5 GB without any additional fees !!!!
He changed that option on the spot for me.
You can do that yourself on T-mo website, or just walk in the store like I did.
Enjoy!:good:
Is this everywhere? I'm currently on 500mb data plan that slows down afterwards. Would I be eligible?

Thanks for the heads up buddy. I just went into my account online and made the changes on 2 of my 4 lines that have truly unlimited data.
This is very nice of tmobile. Now I have 2.5gb of tethering rather than 500mb on my truly unlimited plans at no extra cost.

this has been out for a while now T-Mobile changed this back in like the beginning of the summer I think. Its for anyone on unlimited data they are being nice and giving us 2.5 mb to tether. Use it or not T-Mobile is looking out enjoy everyone...
Edit: fyi there are also non rooted methods of tethering whether or not you have unlimited data.
If u have the hotspot on your account the ps3 will be able to pick up the tether and use the data.. Just not when u don't have the hotspot on ur account and ur doing a hacked tether to use ur unlimited data it won't work.. I'm connected to the ps3 network now.. 2.5 should be enough for multi-player... I hope

Unlimited plan allows up to 2.5gb tethering a month which for that purpose is more than enough for me.

If your just getting that message on your phone that is just a setting for your own info, if you get an upsell screen on a tethered pc or your tethering stops working, then you will know they know lol. I tethered 100's of gigs in a month before they shut me down and I switched over to Foxfi and masked my usage.

well well, dummy me was about to do "de la vega" and just ended up following "qbking77" video to the T and tripped knox. Anyway, since that ship has sailed and there's nothing that could be done about it for now, what exactly does the tether app needs in order to work? I've been using TrevE Mod WiFi Tether for the longest on my GS3 stock rom/rooted. What's the difference with the Note 3?
So does installing this app work perfectly on a t-mobile note 3 on an AT&T network without AT&T catching you tethering without paying?
