Hi folks, just installed trickstermod to tinker with governor and scheduler etc Anyone had any success with changing these settings (smoother, better battery etc) would be keen to listen to your findings

Are there any ICS kernels that have the conservative governor included? Battery life is a big issue for me on AOKP and CM9, which prevents me from using them as a daily driver.
At the same time, I love them for being so slick and having the Bluetooth audio issues fixed.
Any help is appreciated.

No, because there are no custom kernels yet that are compatible with ICS.
I think we can fix that one without the custom repacked kernel.
Do you know which governors being used for AOKP and what CPU frequencies?
What I'm thinking about is, we could take the cpu tweaks on my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625299, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610741 (all_in_here.zip, there are two cpu tweak files) and make the modification to fit to AOKP.
Currently on these tweak, I'm using 'ondemand' governor as default because conservative governor is not supported on ICS stock kernel yet. By changing the values on ondemand governor, we may get the same result.
(with some other tweaks, I'm getting 24hours now with 50% battery still left on Stock rom/kernel)

That's actually phenomenal. I'm at 46% after 6 1/2 hours.
Hi guys,
I was wondering if any of you could advice me on what are the best settings to use for:
a) Battery life?
b) Maxing out performance?
Cheers!
You need a custom kernel to play around with CPU governors. (No custom JB kernels yet as the source hasn't been released).
If you're still on ICS and have a custom kernel, interactive or ondemand are battery friendly. Performance governor give the bets performance (surprise).
Thought if anyone found their perfect settings on bonuzzz's oc kernel, they could be shared here. Really, the reason I started this thread, is I have no idea how to set these settings. I'm looking for a balance between performance, and battery life, (isn't everyone ) but I have no idea where to begin. Seems to run better with default settings, but I wonder what optimized settings would feel like!
So I'm thinking about flashing EX kernel and had a question about the kernel manager app. I know it allows you to make quite a few changes but that it also has preset profiles.
My question is can I just picks profile and use those settings or do I have to manually tweak each setting etc.
Thanks.
The preset profiles are just for the CPU governors. It doesn't change anything else and there's a ton of different stuff to tweak like I/O schedulers, Virtual Memory, Graphics and TCP Congestion Avoidance.
You can enter them manually of course, but the profiles can also be loaded from within the app with just one click. Very easy to use.
Hey there!
I've been trying to tune my CPU Governor using KAM but my device always freeze when I change values. This happened to me with CM13 and now also with CM14.1.
I also cannot use any mods that tune governors because they freeze the device (lspeed/hebf).
Does anyone face the same problem and perhaps have a solution?
Thanks.
Bump
This problem persists in latest LOS. This only happens when trying to tune the interactive governor. Any other governor does not cause any problems.
