No. Zooper works by rendering a bitmap then displaying the bitmap. It does not update fast enough for animation. It won't even do a second hand very well, let alone something that would take multiple frames per second to look right.
Honestly, no widget can do much animation beyond scrolling. I think at some point widgets will bifurcate into widgets like we have now--slow but efficient--and what are essentially windowed apps that can use the GPU and show video, etc. Multi-window already exists...it's really an extension of that.

The small home screen weather, right beneath the clock, animates. When you open the home screen the weather animates for a short time.
I dont mean the animated background on the home screen which covers the whole screen. I really mean the tiny weather thingy.
I want that to stop. Anyone has any idea how to stop this? I've got the latest 2.5 23xxx Energy Cookie Rom

Well that small animation should only happen when you go back to the home tab or when the clock itself is reloading..... like after you flip the cookietab back down or something.
It doesnt slow down your phone at all and that animation takes a whole, what, 3 seconds? I would just use a rom that doesnt include that weather panel under the clock. The weather may look a bit funny just sort of popping back and forth between your my location weather forcasts as it changes.
I think that weather animation its pretty much standard even on 2.1 roms now.

Its annoying. The weather is fine, but the animation is bugging me ... but oke.
You can remove it but then you won't have any weather there at all. At least to my knowledge.
we have a perfect phone with amazing screen. but... .
its well knowed to any android owener that allways the wall-paper maximum traction on the screen is leaving a few percent down to dock and his apps\symbols and a few percent up to the bar and his apps\symbols, while the background of the bar\docks stays black\glass.
back in my merry days with the WM6.5 I recall there was software that really stretched the entire wallpaper including the bar and dock, and clearly saw the apps\symbols on the dock\bar but the background of them was the Wall-paper i cosed.
it was very Beautiful and really Reflected and showed the ALL SCREEN.
needless 2 say that worked on\with any luncher !
Utilization of the screen background picture - really makes an amazing phone.
does Anyone know such a method\app that doing the same in Android and works with our phone ?
tnx
If you use a launcher like launcherpro and you download on app like Flikie Wallpapers you can stretch your wallpaper and see it through all of your screens and dock. If you select a picture do it with Flikie to get it on all the screens.

Hi Guys,
Just started using Sense 4.0. Stupid question... much like the previous versions of Sense, the weather animations (wipers when raining, clouds across the screen, and etc...) that used to show up on the screen when the phone was unlocked; has Sense 4 gotten rid of these animations?
I mean, I see the weather animations in the clock/weather app, the Weather lock screen, but not the animations that used to show up on the home screen, after the phone was unlocked... Is that gone in Sense 4? Can someone confirm? Thank you.
The full screen animations are selected when you add a weather widget, such as the default clock. Just remove the clock, and add it again, it'll give you the option
No it hasn't gone from sense 4.0, you just need to remove the clock widget and then add it to the home screen again and it will give you the option to enable full screen weather animations. Hope this helps.
Edit: looks like edge3uk just beat me to it.
Hi
Yes you can get weather animations, you have a couple of choices:
On the Lock Screen
Go to Settings - Personalise - Lock Screen and select Weather. Now whenever you turn your phone on you get a weather animation for your location.
As a wallpaper
Go to Settings - Personalise - Wallpaper - Live Wallpapers and select the Weather
Note that these options, especially the live Wallpaper will be using a little bit more battery power then viewing a static wallpaper image, of course that only impacts you if the phone spents a lot of time on with the wallpaper on show.
Another option, generally more accurate, in real 3D, is to look out of a window or go outside Yes I too have animated weather, it just looks cool lol.
Edit: and another way is to use the widget as already posted, so that makes 3 so far.
Regards
Phil
It is off by default. Just long press the clock&weather widget and push it to edit, click your current location, and tick show full screen animation.
Guys,
thank you for ALL your wonderful replies! Indeed, the animations work for me now, BUT, I cannot figure out what "triggers" them on the home screen... they just happened randomly, I can't deliberately kick em off...
For example in earlier Sense versions, the way to kick it off was, EVERY time you unlocked the phone, and the home screen had the Weather clock, the animations would go....
That doesn't happen in Sense 4, can someone confirm this or tell me what I am missing?
Thanks again!
well for me they only appear after unlock.

I was hoping someone could help me sizing widgets for the nexus screen.
I wanted to make a grid that fit together with no spaces in between like on that market screenshot for the app.
My plan uses 4x1 and 2x1 widgets so I wont need the other sizes.
I had it set up pretty good on my lg but with the different screen sizes it doesnt match on the nexus.
I have my screen set to 5 rows and 4 columns so I was looking to do a 4x1 at the top then 6 2x1s and then a 4x1 at the bottom.
Any help would be much appreciated.

are those tiles or just hotspots? if the lines aren't visible you can just set it as your wallpaper and use DVR to create invisible icons using a "blank picture".
if not, find out what your phone resolution is and your gonna have to edit the picture to find the proper alignment to match the widget sizes...i have made a bunch of custom homescreens (its a pain to get the alignment right sometimes)..but if it looks good in the end, its worth it
it shouldnt be too difficult though, that set up isn't complicated

Thats a good idea, so your saying create it all as one picture and then set it to wallpaper then use invisible icons for widgets right?
The only problem I can see for that is what about the wallpaper for the rest of my screens?

1. yes
2. are you using scrolling wallpaper or is it static?
either way the concept will still work...just that scrolling wallpaper may take you longer to figure out the alignment
if you can post the picture you are going to use and an idea of what you want i can help you with more specific questions

I did something like that when I was using multiple wallpaper but I much prefer the scrolling wallpaper so I stopped using it.
How would this work with a scrollable wallpaper when you see the same part of the wallpaper on 2 separate screens?
This was the screen I had with multiple wallpaper.
The thats the wallpaper Im currently using.

ive actually never seen someone use a "tile" setup with scrolling wallpaper...it can be done but obviously there will be overlapping points..the icons would be on separate screens and with blank images so it would just be the wallpaper shifting not the icons (since they arent visible)
in my opinion, if you are going to use a tile set up it would be best to use static wallpaper...i know you posted a picture of the wallpaper but it doesnt really give me a clear idea as to what you are doing

What Im doing or trying to do is just what that screen shot is. Have a check list type screen to launch apps from.
I found a desktop visualizer addon called dvrimageslicer that I thought was the answer I was looking for but for some reason it only crops images with no gaps on the top and bottom. So it looks exactly how I want it to when I only use 4x1 widgets but when I use more than one widget on the same row it leaves a gap on the left and right sides of each widget.

sorry for the late response...by gap do you mean visual gap or space that you cant click? (like a blank unused icon space)
that setup is very simple
use an app like photoshop to design the layout as a background...then use blank icons as mentioned previously
the most difficult part of the entire thing is going to be getting the spacing right...but that you can done in a matter of minutes
I have been looking for a digital 24 hr clock widget that had a setting for seconds and variable size with a transparent background for a very long time and I can find it all except for seconds.
I would assume that many developers don't add that function because it would force the widget to refresh and redraw itself every second, presumably leading to a likely battery drain.
Mostly assumption but it makes sense to me.
widget in seconds is too crazy lol
Does the clock under "daydream" settings show seconds? Just curious....

lol, clock widgets dont work like that. I think that there isnt any demand for it so thats the reason why
They have some that show the seconds but they have backgrounds and there analog clocks that show the second hand and live backgrounds flow smoothly so I don't think it has anything to do with refresh rate.
