Hi. I bought the Sprint htc one m8 harman kardon and I want to unlock the sim card in order to use it in unlocked GSM networks outside USA. I unlocked the bootloader and made the S-Off with super CID. Is there any stock RUU to flash it and have the SIM unlocked mobile?
I appreciate all the help.
There's a thread in General on how to SIM-unlock your phone if you're S-OFF (which you are) so just follow that

I have hboot 1.72
Bootloader unlocked by htc.dev
Have cmw
And cm 10.1.3
Want to flash viper rom, but it fails all the time.. So i think i need to s-off and make super cid.
The s-off fails all the time, tryed disabling the av and reboot my pc, disabling the firewall.. Still no luck..
What can i do?
currently, there is no known way to s-off htc one x. so even if you find a method on some website, it wouldnt work.
btw if you do not have the international tegra version then i think s-off is available for you. but in that case, you are in the wrong device thread

Are you on stock? Sunshine requires stock to work... Or there's a couple very close to stock roms that should work.
Hello,
I have tried with stock ROM and cyanogen without success.
Is the firmware 3.18 in cause ?
?

Hey guys, I've been waiting to get android M and sense 7 before I root my phone, now I realize that root availability depends on firmware and carrier.
Could you guys please tell me if there's any way to root the One M8 on T Mobile, android M?
It doesn't matter what phone nor carrier. You have root. 2 different ways if your s-on or off. Just search the HTC One M8 thread and you'll find it.

Oh, sweet, thanks! I was confused since I keep seeing some guides that say they're exclusive for like, AT&T m8 or what not.. So I can use any guide for Android M root for M8?
Only way is to S-Off your device with Sunshine
http://theroot.ninja/
It costs a one time fee of $25 in which it'll Unlock your Bootloader and S-Off. You can then fastboot flash a custom recovery to install SuperSU or a compatible Custom Rom

I've got one from Vodafone. Pretty sure it's unlocked. Unfortunately the Australian HTC 10 has a different region code from Asian sets. It's 710 instead of 709. So no, we have yet to receive the update.

My counterparts with unlocked and unbranded AU stock are on 710, and seem to be still on 1.21

It's fine with HTC 10 because they are all shipped with standard hardware and specs. You just gotta change your device Cid to super cid and you're good to go. Essentially making your device region free, allowing you to flash any region Rom.
There are quite a few guides in the Android development section about unlocking the bootloader, changing to super cid and flashing custom Rom or Rom of different region. HTC 10 doesn't come with something like Samsung Knox so it's pretty hard to brick your phone but still possible if you f up.

You can flash any roms once you have unlocked boot loader. Flash TWRP and make system image before anything. If you want to change CID or firmwares once bootloader unlocked, you will need to be s-off or return to stock. See sunshine soff for that. BTW I'm Telstra (optus sim) unlocked with 121.841.xxx

Doesn't matter if its from a carrier or outright, HTC in Australia has the same firmware for all of them and it gets released the same time. Just buy the phone from a carrier so you can have 2 years of warranty and not one as it is for an outright handset. I bought the M9 from Harvey Norman (outright) and still haven't recieved the 6.0.1 Marshmallow update because HTC as i said they update the phone the same time.

It is different firmware for each carrier. Read back and you will see we have different firmwares. The update may be the same, however different firmware. Unless soff, you will only be able to use your own firmware. Once soff, you can super CID and flash any firmware, no need to wait for ota updates. With m9 and soff, you could now be on mm firmware 3.35.401.10.
I do understand all of this I have been reading alot of info about soff and cid and all that. So if I were to flash leedroid ROM I would need to supercid? This is why I have stuck with Nexus phones. So I have to pay for an app to soff before flashing a custom ROM...

No, just unlock bootloader using HTCDev website. Flash TWRP using fastboot. Backup system image when in TWRP. Then install leedroid without wiping, all good.
Thanks but that's the bit I don't understand because his ROM is European base firmware.

Does not matter, it is based off that release. You can still flash rom (I am using it now on telstra firmware). All Roms will work, including incoming viper rom????. If you want to upgrade firmware, you will need soff and go super CID, or return to stock to receive ota update once released. I am s-on BTW. No need to soff just yet imo.

Once on custom rom, you will not receive firmware updates automatically. That is where soff comes in handy, cause you can flash them using fastboot, rather than returning to stock. Hope that helps you a bit.
