LokLok lock screen replacement. - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Themes and Apps

Some of you may or may not have come across this in the app store. LokLok is a lock screen replacement for your Android device. What makes this one special is that it has a "social" twist to it. You can set up groups and share a lock screen. Essentially it is a community whiteboard that everyone in your group can use to send quick messages back and forth. You can add pic, draw over anything or erase and start from scratch. Its also completely private. You can have multiple groups as well. Only need to swipe to the left to change group on lockscreen. Nobody can search for you. Only people you know that use the app can send you an invite. It is currently in open BETA on the play store and is completely free. Check it out! :good:

Now that I have found and installed this awesome lock screen replacement I have nobody to test it with Lol. Guess I will wait till next week when wife gets G3 lol

Child locks?

I picked up a Samsung Epic for my daughter who is 6, has helped her a ton with reading and spelling by the excitement of sending and receiving text messages from some family members.
On her phone I would like her to be able to access select items that I create widgets or short cuts too on her screens, however I would like her to not be able to access any "settings", market or any app I haven't set on her desktop.
Anyone know a great app to do this with?
The apps that I have on her desktop are:
Phone/Contacts/Messaging
Camera/Gallery
My Coffee Card (widget)
Picture Frame (widget)
Zoodles
Chess
Pure Weather Widget
Pure Calendar Widget
and a Flash light widget.
She quickly figured out the phone, how to work the market, change her wall paper, change her ring tones and most everything else..Would just like to limit her access and use of the device.
Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the links, but not really what I am looking for. More of something that won't let her create any short cuts or widgets, not not access any settings and not be able to open the app drawer without a code.
Something like this might not be present yet, however I think it is something many parents would pay for.
You could try using a custom launcher for example adw launcher
U can place whatever u want on the desktop and there's a "lock desktop" option so nothing can change wich can b found by pressing menu on the homescreen
And then u can go to the adw settings > general behavior > system prefences. And over there u can uncheck any option u don't want to show up on the menu button so uncheck "lock screen" so it won't show up and ur daughter won't b able to unlock the homescreens to change stuff
Also u may creat a category for the app drawer and remove any apps u don't want her to open so it will only show the ones you chose to show up
And I guess that will solve ur problem..?

Why not? My 4 year old daughter is rockin' CM7 on her Nook Color and she's got my old Moment too. These are great educational tools as well as toys for big boys.

I have to agree. We considered it for a while, the pros and cons. After all consideration we went with it as an educational tool.
We didn't want her to feel dependent upon it or become overly obsessed with it however there was a void in her spelling and reading abilities.. Almost over night her ability to spell and read increased greatly!
She has played Angry Birds and watched Hanna Montanna vids from YouTube (uncle and aunts doing), however her options to text message and play Zoodles has been great! One of the cool things as well, we went out to a Starbucks and she set up the Chess board for us to play, she has Chess on her phone.
Thanks for all the feedback, will try out that idea with a launcher tomorrow.
Adw launcher would have the better options I guess for what you seek. Glad to hear someone else realize the benefit of android for kids!

Child Proof Gadget-Child Lock
A new app is there in google play store. It is also useful if your kid is playing with your android phone. It has all required features, with this its size is very small and it is harmless for your phone. It locks phones homescreen, calls, sms, settings everything which you don't want to allow the kid. it has a facility to create separate 'kid area', where kid can access only allowed apps.
App name : Child Proof Gadget-Child Lock

I'd love to get my mistress' number off there !

Is it permanent and auto... I need something like that, I rather not have frequent calls at all (TMI)
Idk if u can completely disable it but long pressing the contact u can remove em in 1 click i will check if they can be disabled and edit the post
Edit: i dont see any option to disable them entirely but deleteing is easy and it deletes the entire frequent call log for that contact and not just one call at a time so if u have (contact name) 15 calls to that contact it deletes all 15 calls and not just 1 call at a time

If you're going to be a douche and cheat on your woman and not have the balls to, you know - be a man and tell her what's up. Then at least put in some effort to cover your tracks instead of being lazy. Delete the frequently called list yourself, manually.
I'll take my infraction if that's what happens. This thread is stupid. Reported.

I think this is a valid topic, regardless of the OP's reasons for wanting to know. I like to show off my phone quite often to demonstrate some of the advantages of Android, and it would be nice not to have sensitive information like that so easily accessible to someone who's just playing around with my phone.

Do most people not know about the apps on the market that hide info like that? If you want to hide certain numbers when they call/text - get a black list app/privacy app or something like that. I like showing off what my phone can do also so I know what you mean. However, I don't allow complete strangers to handle my phone. I don't mind people seeing the name of someone I call often - I'm more concerned about the pictures they might see.
Guys, I use shady sms. It's got a built in call guard and a hidden contact list. Dev is cool too, he responds with help usually same day.
It blocks calls, sms, and hides them in the app. There's no app icon either. To open it, you go to phone, type your secret code, and hit send.

Damn, I was just joking.. Did I touch a spot, did your significant other cheat on you or etc... WOW!
I just want to app that monitors the Frequently Called list and prevents contacts from ever appearing on it without having to manually clear the list.
I know there other members looking for a similar solution to this problem....
Didn't mean to touch a nerve, hope you get your partner back, root their phone or something nice like that! Good luck!
Maybe edit the phone.apk or dialer.apk to get rid of the frequent list all together.
Or it may just be editing a value check for a call to save to the list. That way its always empty.
If you're going to be a jerk to your wife, then at least just get a separate phone. Or maybe you DO want to get caught. If you really cared you would not cheat, and if she's not what you want any more do the right thing and divorce her so she can do what she wants and maybe find someone who respects her without having to be concerned about someone who seems to not care about her(you).
That being said, I would check out Shady SMS, seems to help some ways. I figure the cost is worth it if you don't want to get caught.

I was really just joking .. But I found Tiger - No Frequently Called, looking for the APK so I can try it out on Epic (But I can't find anywhere)... If anybody find it, share please
Any new info on the subject
I think the app Super Private Conversation hides all communication from certain contacts and it is free on the market.
They changed the name to Private SMS & Call but it works wonders and is free. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superdroid.spc&hl=en
Alternatively, just use google voice for that purpose. All outgoing calls and text will be hidden within the google voice app.
Got to admit this was some good reading... If that man is capable of having more than one woman don't be mad at him... Kudos to you for at least not wanting to flaunt it and taking the time to try and do your pimping right.......hahahaha

NFC Use through Lockscreen on Nexus 7 and Operating App In Front of Lock Screen

Hey guys,
I did some searching and asked in some IRC channels, but couldn't find a satisfactory answer. I heard Biwoto Cerbero can maybe do I what I want it to do, but even though I'm in New Jersey, their app keeps downloading in Spanish for me. (I emailed them, I'll update this thread if that app can do what I want)
Basically, I have a Nexus 7 I'm trying to enable as a beer pouring authenticator for the Kegbot project. NFC authentication is easy past the lockscreen, but I also want to be able to use the tablet. Seeing as how I'm in college, letting some drunk friends play with my personal gmail sounds like a bad idea.
So I have two questions. One, I haven't seen this for the Nexus 7, but I know it's possible-- how hard would it be (presumably in a custom ROM) to enable NFC to work with the lockscreen off?
Two, is it possible to implement a top lock over my pattern unlock, wherein the top lock (could be anything, but presumably just a simple swipe) would allow access to only one application (the Kegbot app that responds to authenticated NFC tags by offering to pour a beer), but still keep another lockscreen in place to prevent other apps from being used?
That would also allow me to keep an app that writes specific strings or something to the tags to allow for access control if I don't want people rewriting their own NFC cards. (Though I could always write lock those)
Thanks!
Hate to reply to myself, but I think I've found the answer.
So my googling turned up this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5iaXdvdGEuY2VyYmVybyJd
It has some localization issues they're trying to fix, but it's not hard to change the language to English if you play around with the settings.
I've been emailing back and forth with one of the developers, who has been helping me out a ton. If you have the premium version (only a dollar), you can call their lock screen (either PIN or NFC) to come up after you leave the application you are in that you want to restrict access to. So I have my face unlock, get past the Cerbero lock, then I open my app. I call an intent in the app on destruction of the launcher activity that brings up the lock again. It's not the cleanest solution, but it works for my purposes.

Did you have any luck being able to use NFC without having to unlock the screen? i've seen other device specific solutions on xdad but nothing for the Nexus 7
Thanks.
Some time ago there was a modified nfc apk wich worked in both my nexus s and galaxy nexus...and it could do that.

Anyone found out how to get NFC working without the screen being on?

[Q] Maps / Navigation update?

Has anybody noticed that Google has updated the Maps app, and thus changed the way the GPS Navigation works?
It SUCKS BIGTIME! Heck, it picks some business that I never went to as maps/navigation history, and even though I delete the maps history, it pops right back like I went there! I cannot slide over in nav to fingd a contact adress anymore either. Also, when I used to search for some place like "Burger King" it always came up with a list and I could choose which one I wanted. Now It PICKS ONE that IT wants and I have no choice anymore. It's like some kid wrote the software and has no f'n idea what he's doing. I am very disapointed with this $hit! The GPS Nav is the SOLE REASON I STAYED WITH ANDROID! Oh well, I guess soon I'll be moving on to an iPhone...... if I can't get things how I want, I just as well get things that WORK!
I'm pretty sure you can find an older, more functional version with some good ol' searching.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Woah there bud. Take it easy.
Google recently made several changes to Maps. (I don't know if this was one). But one big one was they did away with offline maps. Within days it was back due to the enormous amount of backlash.
Send a complaint to Google support about your issues. If it is related to the changes they made, you won't be the only one (and they have just proven they do some times pay attention to user complaints). If it's not and yours is malfunctioning they may already know a fix. And if not, just install an older version for now.
And just so you are aware, maps on iPhone will be the same as ours for the most part. The only reason they didn't have to deal with the offline maps change was because the update hadn't yet become available to them, and it was changed back before it was. Most other changes in functionality will most likely affect the iPhone too.
Just one piece of advice, don't write to Google support the way you wrote your post to us. It's a great way to receive no reply and no help.
And remember, all the things you mentioned may just be from a single simple bug they would correct anyway.
Good luck!

Thanks Doc,
I did it as soon as the update messed my Nav up, but I seriously doubt Google would do anything about it. They always do as they want, including legal aspects, so not hoping to see any changes.
On a more positive note,
If anyone prefers the older version of the software, go to Settings>Application manager>All
and look for "Maps", Select it and click on "Uninstall updates". It will put back the "Navigation" icon too.
DO NOT UNINSTALL THE APP! You might not be able to download and install the older version anymore...
Then, go to Google Play (using the shortcut or from the Tray icons)
Tap the Menu button and select "Settings".
Remove the bullet from "Auto-Update Apps" and put the dot in Do not auto-update apps.
Back out and close Play Store. You will not get any auto updates pushed to your phone anymore!
You still can get all the updates MANUALLY whenever you want....
Just open the Play Store, and tap the Menu button
"Select My Apps"..... It will list all the Apps you have installed that have updates available.
Update whatever you want to and close the Play store app when you're done.
The updatable apps will be at the top of the list, and others below will show "Installed"
Hope this helps others that want the older stuff, but want updates too!
Aloha & Good Luck!

Android Multi User on LG G4

Hey guys, I might have made a big mistake. I am currently using Pixel XL as my daily driver for a couple months. My girlfriend broke her iphone and needed a replacement for a couple days so without thinking I picked up my old LG g4 and set a new account to gave it to her. Because, well I was trying to be a good boyfriend, but I didn't think it through. That phone is filled with *cough* *cough* Sensitive pictures and videos in the gallery and in the hide it pro app that could compromise the entire relationship. I have been freaking about this for an hour and so and I need help. I opened another account on my pixel and couldn't see my pictures, which was reassuring, but I can't stop but thinking that it's not the case with the LG can you guys check it for me so I can have a plan of action. PS she has really limited knowledge of the android ecosystem and any sort of technology in general.
PS** The main account is password protected and she doesn't know the passcode. PS*** The only think I can think of to keep her from seeing them is factory resetting the phone remotely which I am not willing to do without absolute proof.

From expierience hide it pro changes the file name extensions so no other app sees them. I feel ya brother. The g4 should nativly support multi user. Why not tell her u need it do get some old downloads or backups off it and either wipe the hide it pro app or transfer the files real quick to anther sd card and delete.

Well, you are right with the hide it pro app but my main concern is the gallery app. If you currently have a LG G4 on hand would you please create another user and check if the pictures in the gallery are shared or not it is kind of vital and I can't see her until tomorrow so I can't do things you suggested and I kinda need to know to sleep comfortably at night.

Multiple users are handled like this in Android:
Each user has its own internal storage path.
E.g. /data/media/0 is the first user path always.
When you add another user he/she will get /data/media/10 or 1 or whatever the ROM says.
The result:
Each user can have its OWN pic gallery and apps
So a new user will not see any pics from the other user in the gallery... As long as no app get installed which accesses e.g. all pics on the external sd...!
Keep in mind that every user has in general full access to the device. Means:
When the second user installs an advanced file explorer he/she could navigate to the folder of the first user and access all folders from him!
When the gallery app scans the whole system you cannot be sure it will not find all..
So at the end the android multi user concept is not a full protection between the both accounts. Well as long as the second one is not a GUEST account.
So.. at the end you're not safe.
