Hi there,
I recently purchased the 'Flux CM11' theme from the the Play store, and I really really like the soft buttons, but not the rest of what comes under the 'style' check box.
Is there a way that only the soft buttons could be styled, and how hard would it be for a novice to decompile, edit and recompile the APK to only include the soft buttons?
Obviously I would get permission from the developer before going ahead with this.
Also, if this is in the wrong section then mods please move it.
Thanks in advance.
Just use SoftKeyZ if you don't want to get in to the hassle of doing it manually.

guys can someone help me, im trying to add phone to the left soft key with vanilla rom - i have installed soft key changer but the option is not there - any help how i can do this please
anyone? PLEASE......
what do you mean by adding phone, if you press the green key you acces the phone
i know but i like he phone key on the soft key too - just a niggle i guess, i installed another rm nd its fine but you cant select phone fom some cooked roms after installing soft key changer, where as you can with official roms
I really cant see this. Press the green button, just as easy as pressing the one above it.
lol, does sound a bit strange... unless u change the green key to something else... but then WHY??!!
yeh like i said its just a little niggle - a standard feature that comes with the official roms and i just got very used to it - but no big deal
Don't get me wrong the .com/www. is a useful button, but I'd rather have a tab button. I was wondering if there was a way to make the .com/www. button or even one of the custom buttons on the physical keyboard turn into a tab button. I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me. (If this is even possible). Thanks!
There is a thread in the dev section about this. Remapping keys is possible by editing the files that contain the layout.
While this is one custom approach and may not suit all your needs, it opens the door to customization for your own purposes.

Awesome, thanks. Didn't know the words I needed to use to find what I was looking for.
Hello. Physical soft buttons (back, home, multitasking) on my HOX are not working anymore, I am sure it's a hardware problem but now I really cannot send it back to HTC as it will take forever, so I think I will fix it myself (at least try) as soon as spare parts start being sold and after I see some disassembly tutorials on the internet.
But with no physical buttons the phone is really hard to use, so I decided to unlock and root to be able to use button savior. However I am not completely satisfied with it as the multitasking button for button savior simply won't work and other buttons are a bit laggy.
So I ask... is there a way to enable the ICS native softkey bar while keeping sense 4.0?
Alternatively, do you know other apps such as button savior but with the multitasking button working properly on ICS?
Thanks!
if i remember correct, we must edit some code in framework-res.apk
framework-res.apk\res\values\bools.xml
Code:
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>
some tweak info from HD2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20604062&postcount=2
thanks. Never really done any modding before, I guess time has come to learn something new
I do not know where is the problem with one x
I just got new one but soft keys not work
Hi Guys,
I haven't found anything about this topic so I want to ask you if it's possible to realize the LOGO2MENU, which was very popular at the M7.
It would be very cool if the logo bar is still touch sensitive. :victory:
Of course it would be even cooler, if the 'back' and 'home' button would also work, so I can get rid of those stupid softkeys.
PLEASE DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME!
Looking forward for everything what's coming for the M8.

I am not a developer at all - but I am 99.9% sure that this is not possible.
Flar2 has stated that the bottom of the screen where the HTC logo is isn't capacitive
Insert Coin lets you change what the nav buttons do. I have it set so long press recent apps is menu.

Also if you use xposed, and download the xblast module you can change the size of the soft keys. I love it. Picture attached for you to see.

Hi friends. Just yesterday i've found something new (for me) and usefull: Key Remaping. You can remap a key to do what you want, for example i've disabled the wake option of vol buttons because i listen a lot of music and every time i change the volume then the phone wake up...
Now my question is about long press remap. I've tried to use google to find anything about that but no luck, and i want to remap the long press of volume buttons while screen is off to media control (previous track and next track) and camera button to play/pause.
I had a ROM with that option, but i got some problems with it and i've changed with another, but this new rom don't have that remaps.
How can i remap that buttons?.
Thanks.

Thanks for reply.
I've searched in apps section and I only found an exposed module and a framework, but with framework i've got bootloop. Finally I've installed ExistenZ Rom thathave that option
Greetings.
Up!!
I ask the same again :crying:
¿Someone knows what i've to edit in framework to do this?, because now i'm using another ROM and don't have this option. I know about Xposed Framework, but i want to learn how to do it without that...
Thanks!!
PDTA: I've read some post about how to do it, but for Galaxy SIII. I don't know if works on Xperia S too.
