Hi guys, i just bought Z1 compact and i want to make a root. Is it possible to root the phone with EasyRootTool if i have option bootloader unlock allowed set to NO?
You can use newroot or towelroot or other method
You can have a root without unlocking bootloader. Bootloader unlocking is other thing. If you have unlocked bootloader you can flash custom kernels

I'm trying to root with EasyRootTools, but with no succes by now. Then I manually downloaded towelroot.apk and superSU zip file. I started towellroot.apk and this apk was successfully installed. SuperSu zip file is unzipped on sd card, and when i run supersu.apk from common folder i get error message 'cannot update su binaries'. How can I update this binaries?

You are at start point as you said. "No success by now"
You must have root, rest is for next steps.
I may be mistaken but EasyRoot is for KK 4.4.
What software do you have on your phone ?

I have KitKat 4.4.2 with upgrade 14.3.A.0.757. I try almost everything by now and I just can't believe that I have only z1c which can't be rooted. It must be that sometning i'm doing wrong.
I have been following few instructions with very little diffrences, but stil with no result. There is tutorial on techglen site for unlocked bootloader kitkat 4.4.2 with upgrade 14.3.A.0.757. This is one of tutorials that i followed:
Download the latest tr.apk from toweroot com, copy it to your phone and install it. Click on Make it rain. Once rooted, download update supersu zip from download chainfire eu supersu and extract superuser.apk from common folder. Install this on yoru phone. Run superuser.apk and then update binaries through it.

1) First go unlock your Bootloader Here ( Official Sony Website )
2) Download the Latest SuperSU Zip File
3) Download any Custom Kernel ( For Lollipop Of Course ) found in the Android Development Section, or you can use the boot.img kernel found in any CM 12 Rom
4) Flash the kernel on your Z1 Compact via Flashtool and enter recovery and flash the Latest SuperSU Zip File.
5) DO NOT REBOOT! Power Down and open Flashtool
6) Select the .270 FW and Uncheck All Except Kernel and FOTA ( Uncheck Final Verification ) here we reflash the stock kernel since using the CM kernel on Stock ROM would cause a bootloop
7) Flash and reboot
or
Install Kingroot on your Computer, root your phone and once your phone receives root access install NUT's Dual Recovery, after which uninstall the Kingroot Superuser app and use SuperSU instead since its less buggy and more stable.
With the first method, once your bootloader is unlocked it is very easy to root your device even when Sony updates it. Personally I used the first method to root my phone
Does the second method unlock my bootloader?

No need unlock bootloader
Hi! I've been trying to root my Z1C with various programs, like towelroot and etc, and it's not working. I read that you don't have to unlock bootloader (unfortunately even I want to, I can't ) to root your device.
I know that there's a lot of other thread about this. But can we acces root without flashing or something like this? I'm really a beginner in these things. Or there's a way to downgrade android (I really don't want this, I like this new Lollipop)?
Oh and without unlocked bootloader, can I get in recovery to install zip files? Sorry for these silly questions.
Can someone help me please? (sorry for my bad English, I'm Hungarian!)
My build number is: 14.5.A.0.283
you cant root you phone IF you are on Lollipop ROM you need to downgrade to KK by flashtool and best is KK108. After that simply download newroot by munjeni and turnieju on USB debugging and unknown source. And pług your phone to pc and start newroot and thats all. Very easy

Aha... I got stuck at
Code:
7. Open Terminal emulator and type :
"Su"
Allow root permission
Type:
"sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh"
It says: /system/bin/sh: su: not found.
I had this also. I took an other version of kingroot
I think I used the latest. Check the kingroot thread.

Okay, now I downgraded back to KitKat, now I'm fully rooted, with dual recovery. So....now if I flash the new android via recovery, the recovery will disappear???? I mean, I want to install root from recovery on the 5.0.2.

Hey,
Sorry to revive an old thread. I just installed towelroot from towelroot(dot)com, it went successful. Now my phone says "towelroot" can damage your device. :crying: What should I so, I can't uninstall it can I?
I installed "Root Checker" from google play and it says "Root access is properly installed on this device!"
I couldn't find SuperSU on google play.
What's next? My device is Xperia M C2005 4.3 Stock FW, Build No 15.5.A.0.18
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering, if my phone is rooted, do I need to install SuperSU?
I checked SuperSU website www(dot)supersu(dot)com(slash)DOWNLOAD and all the links seem to be dead.
I wanted to install TWRP recovery, I installed the app from playstore, flashed twrp img to recovery, but when I try to reboot to recovery, it reboots normally. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help.

If you are in stock rom twrp won't work. Cwm recovery might work. And yes you should install supersu so you know which apps are using root access.

Okay great, but now I have more questions.
Xperia M C2005, Stock FW 4.3 Build 15.5.A.0.18
Bootloader unlocked: Yes
Phone Rooted: Yes
Now can I install SuperSU via adb command? Few weeks ago I installed SuperSU on my Moto X via TWRP and that's the only method I know so far
or is there any other method? I found the zip file on download(dot)chainfire(dot)eu, now I don't know how to flash it without TWRP.
I'm also planing to install a cleaner much lighter custom rom. Can I do it without TWRP? If yes, how? If you can guide me to a thread or link that's be great too.
Thank yo so very much for your help. :highfive:

If you are already rooted then just install supersu apk. If you google it you'll find many sites having download links.
For custom rom, well I think you misunderstood me. You can access twrp while on stock rom. It's just that you can't flash anything I guess. (I actually forgot what was the problem anyways) I think you are pressing vol - button while power on. Try keep pressing vol + button after installing twrp through adb command. Then usual procedure for installation of custom roms
Here's link to how to install custom rom but one thing is make sure you flash magisk zip along with rom zip.

Either downgrade to Kitkat using TOT/KDZ and LG Upgrade Tool or if you want a one click method and trust Chinese downloads, then download Autorec and root package from:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1o6YpUsE
Use password: rjte
Navigate to one of the folders which has kingroot app, which roots temporarily and then use autorecmm app for D858HK. This should downgrade bootloader to Kitkat, install TWRP, downgrade modem to compatible version and flash bumped MM boot image. Of course, permanent root with SuperSu will be there as well.
If you prefer DIY methods then there are a few other posts by me and @topet2k12001 which should be helpful.

Hi, you must install KingRoot latest version and Beta Super su 2.5.2. After this you would have enabled administrator permission.
In case of failure the update binaries in SuperSu, you must again install TWRP apps in order to install the custom recovery ( the latest version is 3.0) and finally, you must install the Supersu file (from recovery) in version 2.52 (is the one that works best on android Marhsmallow).

root is the problem, I am not able to root my Phone, I tried Kingroot, but no luck,
You must install to KingRoot in latest version from its official site. Then run the application and leaves that the process is complete. In the end, the application will show an error message indicating that it has not been possible to establish root on your phone. You should try to at least three times. If the error persists, install the application root check and verify if the root permissions have been granted.

If you have locked BL , you'll probably need to use king first, then change to su. With unlocked BL, just download custom kernel and flash with fastboot, then use recovery to flash su.
Hello to all ,
I'm running the 14.6.A.1.236, and I've recently unlocked the Bootloader.
I want to unlock all "bands" . per a post that i saw here.
@ levone1 - Can I root the phone, and keep the same firmware version (as stock), is it possible ?
Thank you .

Some have had success using Supersume app, (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...store&pcampaignid=APPU_1_BewGV6arIIHgaaDZtdAM), some not. If not, there's some other options here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65004634&postcount=2 If you don't need to save any data, etc, you could just root with king root, then do a full wipe in recovery and flash a prf with supersu.
