Hi All,
I recently bought a 2014 Civic Si and I've been getting strange disconnects from the Bluetooth Hondalink. Initially the phone would disconnect every 30 seconds or so and I realized it was because I had to allow the phone to share the phone book. That seemed to solve the constant, repetitive disconnects. Since then, when I start the car, the phone will connect, but then disconnects as soon as the phone functionality or the media functionality is accessed by the car the first time. If I then manually reconect the phone via Bluetooth it will stay connected just fine. After manually reconnecting I can stream audio or take/make phone calls no problem.
As an example, I start the car, the phone and Hondalink connect, Pandora will automatically start playing through the car audio. After about 10 seconds, it disconnects and then I hear Pandora from the phone speakers. I manually reconnect the phone to Hondalink and it stays connected, all works good after that.
Any ideas what might be happening on the initial connection?
My M8 is a carrier unlocked version ordered from HTC. I use it on AT&T.
Thanks for any ideas,
Lenny

I would delete it out of your phone, and delete the phone out of your car, start over the procedure and see if that helps.
I'm having Bluetooth problems in my civic 2012..
Bluetooth streaming works fine, but calls disconnect and reconnect to the cars Bluetooth.
I've deleted the devices both from the car and phone, but it still disconnects and reconnects. Has anyone found a fix for this?
I know this doesn't help you at all, but I have a 2015 Civic and I have this exact same problem. HTC One M8, starts up fine and then disconnects. I have to manually choose a device to connect to and then I'm good to go for the rest of the time.
Annoying.

I just purchased a set of bluetooth headphones (LG Tone HSB700, love 'em!) to go along with my HTC Desire (USCC CDMA) running CM7.1. The bluetooth connection works great most of the time. I have noticed, however, when I'm connected to my wireless network at home but not streaming any audio or phone calls, that the bluetooth connections drops & reconnects every 30-60 seconds or so. If I am streaming audio or on a call, then the connection will not drop. Any ideas on what would be causing the drops? I connected the headset to my wife's Galaxy S3, and there were no connection problems.

Same here.... keeps disconnecting even with the car bt and the fidelio dock (which is quite annoying with the dock sound every 30 secs)
Any ideas?
I just got a new phone last week, a Samsung Galaxy S 3. It still has the same problem. I contacted LG a while ago and they said to send it in for repairs. I use my headphones so often, that I'd rather not send them in and be without them for a few weeks. So I haven't sent them in yet and I still have the same problem.
My issue today is that my bluetooth will not pair properly and remember its configurations. My initial pairing on my phone with my car's flexsmart X3 works perfect, however when I turn off my bluetooth on the phone or turn off my car and turn it back on the phone will still see the flexsmart and it will say it is paired but I get no sound. Upon further investigating I find that in the options setting that neither the call nor music tick box is checked. If I try to tick them it will think for a few seconds and then gray out and do nothing again.
I never had a problem with my note 2 or my temp replacement evo 3d remembering these settings. All I would do with those phones was pair it once and then any time I hopped in the car I would just turn onm,y phone's bluetooth and go. Now with my note 4 I have to unpair and repair the devices each and every time which is a huge pain.
I have read a little bit that this is due to samsung note 4 using a newer bluetooth standard than its predecessors. Is there anyway to circumvent this issue by maybe rolling back the bluetooth drivers or something? I even thought about creating a tasker profile to help with this but still I would have to physically press the search button on the flexsmart eachtime.
Any and all suggestions would be great. Also right now I am on rooted stock 5.0.1
PS: I will try and post some photos to help when I get the chance to get to my car.
I've been start for a solution to this since the phone came out as well. I have the same Bluetooth issues with my phone in my car. Nothing more annoying than having to turn Bluetooth on and off for 10-15 minutes of your drive before you can use the damn thing. Oh wait, more annoying would be when it's been working for a solid 45 minutes or so and then suddenly, with no warning, the Bluetooth connection ends for no reason and your cars stereo comes on instead of what you were streaming only the volume on the cars radio is far louder and it scares the ever living crap out of you

Odd....I dont seem to have that issue. Once I have initially paired the bluetooth it will stay connected without any interruptions. Also pairing for me is really fast and only takes a minute or so. My problem is that instead of my phone remembering the current device settings that it is paired with, it will forget to associate it with calls and data after I turn the bluetooth off and then later back on even though the phone will still remember it is paired with the car bluetooth.
First world problems I know but it gets a tad annoying having to unpair and repair my phone each and everytime I hop in my car to go somewhere if I want to listen to my music.
In the car I don't get a lot of skipping. But when connected to my BT speakers audio does skip a lot and starts playing in ffw then disconnects completely. It's driving me nuts. I've tried all the usual trouble shooting also. No help. Wtf Samsung/Google
I just bought a z2 about a week ago. Been a great phone so far. It updated to Oreo as soon as I turned it on.
There is one issue. Bluetooth. When I originally connected it to my Alpine cd-hd148bt, it would stream music, but the phone profiles would not load. So I updated the bt firmware on the headunit. Now if I restart the headunit, it will connect with all the appropriate icons for audio and phone. If I start an audio app, it says playing, the head says playing, but there is no sound. After a couple of minutes, the entire phone will disconnect from the deck. It won't come back until I pull the faceplate and reboot the headunit. Even turning off the car and powering off won't get the bt to work.
Does anyone have any ideas? I love listening to Pandora, and my city has a hand free law, so I would love to have the phone working also.
PLEASE HELP!! I will owe you a cookie.
Thanks
Edit: unlocked bootloader and magisk 15.2.
im also having issues with bluetooth, since headset will disconnect from time to time and while streaming music to a bluetooth speakers (bose, harman, jbl, chinese, etc) audio will cut from time to time, until bluetooth connection drops an will have to restart phone in order to connect again
I am also having Bluetooth issues, keeps disconnecting from my headphones, or connects and doesn't stream. Supposedly with Oreo Bluetooth had been updated to version 5.
Hi all,
Has anyone experienced any weird Bluetooth issues after installing the latest May OTA update (OPM1.171019.011-RZR-180509.5038)? I've realized that the BT controls on my 2015 Nissan Sentra no longer work properly. It doesn't automatically connect to BT anymore and no track information shows on the head-unit. The weird thing is that I CAN get music to play, at least.
I just wanted to know if I happened to be losing my mind after numerous reboots and re-pairing between the car and the phone.
Same for me. I can delete it. Pair it again and it works. Next time I get in the car it won't reconnect.. worked fine before the update at the weekend.

It's a fire an miss actually. Sometimes it reconnects automatically with the car's unit (alpine aftermarket) and sometimes it doesn't. I had noticed that if I get in the car for the 1st time today (for ex), it won't reconnect back and i have to cycle around the input in order to "kickstart" the reconnecting process. If I make a stop along the way, stop the car, get out (thus interrupting the connection) and getting back after a while, it will reconnect automatically without any issues. I'm not even taking it out of my pocket. But this scenario is happening since day one, not necessarily from the last update.
On the other hand, I got a smartband (coincidentally after the last update) and now, while the smartband is connected via BT, when I turn on my BT wireless headphone adapter, it won't re-connect anymore (simultaneously with the smartband) and if it does, it's without media playback. As a workaround, I have to 1st turn off the smartband, clear the BT of any active connection (And also any other device with media playback capabilities), turn on the BT adapter so it will connect full, then turn the smartband back on. And not always works like this.
So, I do have on an off issues with the BT stability and connections with various devices, not just car unit.
Strangely though my smart watch connects no problem and the stereo in my motorhome was connecting at the weekend. It's just the car ( a Vauxhall Astra) that refuses to connect unless I delete and re pair....

I can't get music to play with Spotify or YouTube. The phone connects fine, shows song info but just won't play no matter what I try.
The weird thing is that calls work perfectly. Sound through car speakers and mic works. Just doesn't want to play music.
I've tried unpairing, re-pairing, deleting, even factory reset on both phone and stereo. Worked fine before the 8.1 Oreo update. (I'm on 3 UK handset).
Im having issues as well, it will connect the first time when I manually connect the phone and stereo to MyLink. It will say connected but (No Media) so i try to pair the media and it disconnects my phone from BT and then i have to delete device and re connect device manually. As well if i leave the vehicle or turn it off then it will disconnect. Not just my vehicle but the other showroom vehicles do that as well. Can someone let me know if there is a bluetooth upgrade or a firmware upgrade that can fix this problem? is there anything that we can do for this let me know. Thanks!!
I am having the same issue in my bmw.
I can delete the phone and re-pair... But it sucks having to do that every thing.
also having issues as well. It connects to my headphones and the after market HU in my truck but it will not connect at all to the factory HU in Genesis Coupe. I have tried to delete and re pair and still nothing.
So currently it all works for me with the latest update. It definitely takes a little bit longer than normal though. Not sure how long some of you waited, but compared to my old phones it feels like an eternity during the time it doesn't connect. I also use a smartwatch and it is always connected to that. If you guys need or want any files, let me know. I'm currently waiting for a usb-c to usb-a cable in the mail, so once that is here I can try to help.
I think this is all more of an Android issue. I was having most of the exact same issues mentioned here on my LG V20 on Oreo.
I just for a Razer Phone 1 off eBay this week. I did the Pie update and within a day, the bluetooth issues have returned. Sometimes phone won't connect to car stereo - sometimes reboot stereo, sometimes toggle phone bluetooth off/on, or sometimes just wait 10-30 seconds. Doing the same showing info on car stereo display, but no audio transmitted. I also had similar issues using a OnePlus 3 with both Dirty Unicorns and Resurrection Remix Pie ROMs. I was beginning to think it was my car stereo until I read the comments on this thread. Seeing so many others having the exact same issues on factory and aftermarket stereos (mine is an aftermarket), and knowing it's happening on different devices and both Oreo and Pie , I'm thinking it's an Android 8 and 9 issue.
Hello since I made the last update I have noticed that there are problems with the Bluetooth. I always keep it active to keep it connected to the smartwatch. I have found that often the phone no longer recognizes it and there is no way until I restart the phone. The problems are accentuated when using the wifi hotspot.
Yep the whole coms system on the 6 is poor. I have disconnection issues with headphones and wahoo cycling computer. Just no fix despite resets .

Yep, my 6 Pro Bluetooth connection to my car has gone backwards in quality in the latest 12.1 stable build
Mine will be fine for an hour and then suddenly disconnects all devices. Then it reconnects on its own. It's not fun when you are on a call or virtual meeting.
Mine is staying connected to my watch without any issues, and when connected to either my car or earbuds I don't get any drop outs at all.
This is on the March update, but I don't use it with a hotspot on the phone though.
I am hearing impaired and have my 6 Pro paired with hearing aids, my car, and my smartwatch. When the phone rings, it is anybody's guess where the phone's sound is going to go. It is so frustrating. In my OnePlus 7 pressing the volume up or down would let you pick where to direct the audio but the pixel doesn't see that as necessary. Boy is it ever!
No issues with the connection to either car, but here's an odd one.
I have a connection to my Samsung Galaxy Watch4 & my Plantronics 5200 headset.
From time to time, if my phone rings, I put on the headset & turn it on, it will connect,'
answer the call, then anywhere from 20-45 seconds later, disconnect the headset and
put the connection back on the phone. Doesn't do it all the time.
Everything is up to date, stock, not rooted.
