Hello guys,
I have some issues while using the latest 4.4.2 DN3 ROMs. Before installing DN3 4.2 I flashed MJ5 bootloader, and it was running for a couple of weeks fine, then the phone started to freeze and reboot several times a day. I thought DN3 v5+ would fix these freezes and reboots but it was no good. I was really disappointed, as I really liked the look and feel of DN3. Now I'm using Revolution HD 31, it's stable (more or less, a couple of freezes and reboots for two weeks) and fast, but I really liked the looks of the latest DN3...
So the question is - what can I do to avoid these freezes and reboots and will upgrading the bootloader to a newer one will help me?
I don't think bootloader has anything to do with it. I was on MJ5 with 4.3 creikelo and NEVER had a reboot or force close. DN3 just freezes after 1-3 days. I had the same experience. It started getting laggy, or better said, the CPU was doing something, hence the lag, and then it just restarted by itself. And I did clean install. It is enough to reat the DN3 topic and see how many people have problems with it - and most still consider it the best ROM... I just went away to another ROM, and will post results in a week hope it doesn't behave the same as DN3
Thanks for the reply!
What ROM did you install? Is it stable?
I had a problem with mj5, my phone froze on the boot and i had to reinstall the ROM.
I think mj5 is for 4.4.2 ROMs, is a older bootloader.

I tried JellyKat 6.7, but seems I have same issue... at first it was getting high CPU usage after a day or two, then phone became so overloaded it reacted to nothing and I had to pull battery out. Then all of a sudden I started getting SOFT reboots (that means only from the point of boot animation, no samsung screen) and I installed Xposed module Samsung Crash Fix and will see if it helps... I dunno, I am begining to believe there's something wrong with all 4.4.2 ROMs Because I never ever had FC, crash or reboot with 4.3 Criskelo....

Hi there!
I installed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912187
with basbeand 77 instead of the recommended ones, and it appeared to work just fine for two days.
Today, I installed the LBE Guard, and so my Desire was stuck in bootloop, which I could get out of after a fullwipe and a new install.
So, then, I installed the LBE privace Master (v4.3.2738),
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422479
because I read it was okay for JB. While configuring it, my phone crashed, and I was again stuck in a bootloop. I tried to make a fullwipe again, and a new install, but I have still these random (but appearing soon after booting) crashings and then a bootloop. It even appears when I use the Aroma Installer, but not in the CWM.
So my question is - what went wrong and more importantly, how do I get my phone to work again?
Thanks for replying.
The part with the baseband is wrong - that was my other phone.
I am quite the noob-cookie, I also have the problem with random reboots and freezes. I have been messing around with the new Nikez 4.2 Jellybean Rom, i thought that could be the reason why. But now I am also experiencing it with the old Nikez 4.1 Rom that used to be very stable for me. Anyone know a good solution? I have done several full wipes..
Cheers!
Title says it all pretty much. Two updates ago I started getting very frequent, annoying random reboots on my son's stock, unrooted Tab 8.4 wifi. I have just rooted it and installed TWRP. Trying to figure out which ROM to install in order to fix these darn reboots. I would appreciate any feedback on which rom you use that is not plagued by the reboots.
Thanks!
You will probalby need to try a couple to see what works for you. some people get reboots and some don't (even on the same rom). I flashed freeza's nearly stock rom and haven't had any reboots.

I have the 8.4 every thing was stock no reboots. Rooted it with chainfire and installed a lot of apps including xposed framework and it started random reboots. I don't know what was causing the problem. I wiped the tablet, I still have root on the stock ND3 and not a single random reboot in over 2 weeks.
adding to my post above.. I installed Apex launcher last night and started getting random reboots. switched back to stock launcher for a few hours and no reboots. switched again to apex, and the reboots started again.
going to try some other launchers this weekend to see if it is an Apex thing, or just something to do with using a different launcher.

Interesting, thanks. I installed Freeza's stockish, no knox rom, debloated it, and so far so good. I use Nova launcher.

I have had good luck with Nova Launcher. Still on stock rooted, considering cm 11 soon.

I went back to Scrosler's first ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698460
which i believe is the same build # we had right before the updates where the reboots started happening, and it's looking pretty good so far. No reboots overnight according to Bootlog Uptime. Just posting this in case anyone else has been having the same problem. Kind of annoyed I have to go back to an old build to stop them though.
Lite prom seems to work fine. Great performance since its just a debloated stock rom.
My Solution To Random Reboots
I updated my T520 from NAE to NG1 using Odin and rerooted it with CF method and I was experiencing random reboots. I did tow things:
1. I defrosted the knox notifications in TB (I had disabaled it when super user asked me to...)
2. I went to SuperSU app's settings under cleanup I tapped reinstall and followed the given commands there...
after doing these things, I have not had any reboots from 2 days ago.
I just wanted to share this with those that are having random reboots. Give it a try... It will work :good:
I wasn't rooted when I first started experiencing the reboots.

I did a similar thing with my 8.4. I rooted with towel root. Knox has not been tripped. No reboots for a long time now. Still on ND3, but considering cm 11

So i updated my sm-t210r (worst decision ever) and instantly began noticing bugs one of which is my apps stopping at random even system ui and touchwiz home. I used the latest philz touch recovery did a clean wipe and flashed nolekat`s rom and the same thing happen apps keep stopping, so i did a test i flashed the same rom in the same exact way on my sister`s tab (not updated) and what a surprise everything works great on hers, no random stops, great battery life, even the screen and graphics are more whiter than mine, so i concluded that its this 4.4.2 updated that is causing all the problems. So what i ask of anyone is steps to completely downgrade romoving the new bootloader in the process, i already tried flashin the old 4.1.2 through odin but all the issues remain, any help or tips would be apreciated
help guys no matter how tedious the process i really want to downgrade and remove this bootloader
Hi,
since a few weeks i've got a big problem, my phone freezes to the point where I have to hold the power button to restart it. this started happening when I was on Jellykat v6.7 but still persists after flashing stock rom.
Info:
Flashed latest bootloader
Problem persists on Jellykat and stock, with multiple and stock kernel.
Problem does not occur when running spotify in the background.
Right now I'm running stock rom (4.4.2 from sammy, flashed via odin) with stock kernel and latest bootloader.
When I restart it and check my battery stats I can see my wifi was still working when my phone did not respond, thus the device was on and I was recieving messages while the decive was not awake.
Weird thing is that it works properly when I let spotify play in the background, meaning it doesn't go into deep sleep (I think).:silly:
Right now my device works fine, but only because I have spotify playing the background 24/7 which isn't ideal in terms of battery life and such.
Any thoughts on it?
Thanks in advance!
Still no one? I guess i'll have to survive till I get the note 4 :silly:
Same here
Same thing happened to me when I was on stock rom.. sometimes it froze sometimes it didn't.. (Without spotify)...
Now changed to custom rom... havent faced such issues since then (last one month..not much)

It started on custom JellyKat ROM, weird thing is, yesterday it worked perfectly fine without spotify and today it's screwing me over again
Okay so, first off, I'm not much of a noob in flashing ROMS and tools, I've had a bit of experience with a Samsung Infuse before, now I got this Note 2 and TouchWiz pissed me off, of course, now I need a lolipop ROM, I used ODIN to root and install TWRP recovery, also flashed a 5.1.1 "RESSURECTION" ROM, tried CM12 too, now the thing is, I'm getting a weird lag, this lag occurs randomly, lasts 2-3 seconds, followed up with a weird vibration, yes the vibrator vibrates the fone whenever this lag occurs... Now I tried a lot of stuff, except unlocking the bootloader because I'm not sure if it'll fix it or not, also after a while I noticed that it didn't detect my SIM card, could it be that my phone is refurbished? Everything else works ok but the lag makes it unusable.. The lag occurs on both CM12 and the other ROM so I don't think it's because of the ROM.. I'll revert to stock Kitkat using ODIN, but I really need to fix this. I tried Google for solutions but I can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem... So please help me out here mates
