I've been traveling from the uk to France and Germany recently.
Every time I change a Sim card to a local one G3 automatically switches the language to the country of the Sim card.
This us extremely annoying!!!
Does anyone know how to disable that ?
Good Q i wonder the same thing...
My friends says that the lang will chacne only once after first boot when you buy the device,
and that is it when he treval to other contry with local sim the lang dosn't chance at all.
But if he will do Format (Factroy restore) and put his orignal local sim & reception form his cell phone cariror
the lang will switch once after he select his lang it will stay put...
Mebey root with morelocal2 will do the job?

Unless I am mistaken, you will more than likely need root to enable the language switch when you switch sim cards. I haven't seen any way to do it without root. I'm not sure if tasker would work, but I'm sure it's possible to develop a way somehow.

Why does my phone think it's being tethered? My Arc S is rooted on .42 Gingerbread firmware, stock UK ROM, deleted a few files/apps, and those are about the only changes I've made.
But recently when I use the 3G on my phone (not wireless, but data) after a while it diverts to my service carrier's page about tethering and how it is not allowed on my plan (which is true).
I phoned up my carrier thinking it must be a problem on their end, the guy told me it to try my simcard in another phone and see if the same thing happens- It didn't, I was able to browse with no problems at all. Put the sim back into my Arc S, and after about 30 seconds of browsing I get diverted again. He told me it may be a problem with my phone and I should factory reset.
Obviously I don't want to do that as I will lose root plus ROM plus all my customisation (Supercharger, Go Launcher etc) so what could be causing the problem? I've been using it fine for a long time and then this happens....

What do you mean navigator? The gps? I'm using the standard google navigator if that's what ur asking

If it was a problem with the firmware wouldnt the problem have appeared straight away, rather than after a few weeks?

no longer data access through at&t now
wifi of course works
when wifi is off, no data!

Yes...but I used it on my ATT i747 and it worked. Ive had no data issues.

I called 611, they said in your order we dont know if I need 20$ or 30$ data
so it was disabled
they enabled it, its working today

My market enabler stopped working, i dont know if anybody have similar issues.
It was working perfectly fine before just 2-3 weeks ago.
I'm not sure if it's related but after upgrade of superuser and busybox it doesnt seem to work anymore.

For me also no longer work following application, but I solved the problem by simply activating the tunnel bear.apk and then after clearing cache off Google play I successfully launched Google play with all purchased and paid applications...

The workaround is to use VPN or proxy service and spoof the connection that way.
I've been using Hideman which gives you the option to choose from a number of countries you're faking your connection from. in the free version you're limited to 5 hours a week, but every week you get another 5 hours.

Hi, my dad brought the this phone from China (for the second time, the first phone got bricked) and it came rooted with an ics rom. Wifi and the edge network was working,but I could not get 3g or 4g data. (It showed a 'G' on top of my network data bar on the top right). Is there a rom i can download that will allow at least my 3g data to be working. So far I tried cm10 but only the edge network worked and I had no wifi connection. My Baseband is SU640-MDM9200B V10i. I live in Canada and the phone is from China. Who knows what is wrong?
As far as I know the radios are different so that could be the problem.

you have to modify build.prop to correct region so your phone uses the proper radio settings for this region.
i'm not an expert but you can get a build.prop editor on play store, change the region to US i think it's ro.product.locale.region is the entry i think that's what it is on my rom atleast

Thanks for the suggestion, i tried your idea but no luck. I changed the value of that line to US and also CA but it was still giving me edge network.

Lol yeah I did this already. I put the correct APN (the same one I use for my lg optimus 2x that receives data connection). Thanks for the suggestion though, it's the simple ones that are usually the solution. Not this time though

Same problem happen to me when I changed the baseband before set the network mode to "GSM/WCDMA preferred".What I do is to rollback "the initial baseband" and make sure is 3G available.

What is your baseband now?Have you ever changed it?If yes, rollback your baseband using " dd if=/sdcard/baseband.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14"(baseband.img is the one you used before,v10i,v10f...or else) ,after finish reboot your phone and set your network mod to "GSM/WCDMA preferred". (not sure it will work,just for your reference)

Haven't done anything to the baseband. It is APQ806/MDM9200. Should I just type that line into a terminal I download from Google play.
Extra info: I'm rooted on the newest jb v30c but can't seem to get into recovery I think because it's a secured/locked boot loader.

Before and after I input the code the network mode says 2 things... Lte preferred and 3g only. Either one I choose gives me the 'E' network above the bars.

Hello the title already explains the trouble I'm facing, my S4 MINI doesn't want to make calls, it keeps on showing that error when I try to dial a number.
I tried to Flash Kitkat 4.4.2 of I9190UBUCNH1 model, then everything went well except for the fact that I still can't make calls, I then flashed a MODEM file but of a different region XXUBMJ7, now the situation just got worse, I can't even turn on WIFI, and it also tells me that I should insert a SIM Card, which is already inserted.
Please help. Thanks in advance
*Edit I flashed the KitKat firmware again and then connections are working again but the "Not Registered to Network" error is still there, please help
