[Q] ¿Can i use device/reset to factory default if im root?

First of all, sorry if im making a repeated question.
I read whit interest the beginners tutorials but i didnt found an answer for my question.
8 months ago i bought a kindle fire rooted, so i dont know what method was used for that.
Now im selling the kindle, but i want to erase all my personal data, so ¿what happend if i use the factory option in settings called "reset to factory default"?
¿It will be bricked or something?
I dont care if i loose the root privileges.

I read the post that you recommend me, but im totally lost...
I dont have access to TWRP and i cant install it, i tried whit KFU but when its installing TWRP, the kindle just get rebooted and nothing happend.
Im very tired, i dont know what to do...

Update:
Its done! I dont know what i did, but i have TWRP now! Im very happy.
One last question, ¿can i format sd card whitout risk? I want to install CM10 but i want a clean instalation.
So i was thinking in format SD Card and after install CM10.
¿What do you think?

If you have not done any of your account setup enter recovery and create a backup and then delete your old twrp backups because they do contain account information. Unless of course you do decide to wipe your sdcard then everything will be gone.

I flashed cm10, but its a little weird... So, now i have a stock custom and i think its good but what do u think?

That was the one that i flashed,
I have some problems whit google voice search, wallpapers and apps extra resized (very big and a little bit pixelated).
So i flashed the custom stock of moraco. ¿Do you know others custom stocks that works that well?

(Resolved!) Disaster ... No Signal after installing different ROM

My phone is LG Optimus G Pro F240K
I installed E988 (United Arab Emirates) then after that I got a message that my storage is encrypted and I have to supply a password to decrypt it, which I managed to solve by "Hard Reset". The Decrypted storage is solved but my IMEI disappeared and No signal!
I flashed back to my original ROM, F240K10r_00.kdz , using the XQ55 method.
after flashing original ROM, still no signal
Now I am very very upset and in need for urgent help sense there is absolutely no enough resources on the internet.
HLEP... Pleeeeeez:crying::crying::crying:

this is for samsung, LG doesn't have EFS folder.

Hi! The same situation was with the LG Optimus G Pro F240L - after flashing from F240K.
corrected as follows:
1. flash the firmware from LGE980H (TCL / TELCEL (MEXICO))
2. flash the firmware of your phone. radio is turned on

You rolled the dice by flashing a rom For a different model. Not so sure that was a wise move.

Guys he needs some help not reproaches

Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done unless he has a backup that he can restore. Once you loose the imei it's more than likely gone for good. I lost mine on the e980 twice. First time a backup restoration fixed it. Second time I had to swap the phone. And as for the app for restoring imei, I tested it but it doesn't work with our phones at all.
Edit: you try reinstalling the baseband. As for how you would get it, I know have no clue.

Lost IMEI after flashing back to stock using Mobile Odin

Hi I was coming from dr ketan rom when I flashed back to stock using Mobile odin. Afterwards my imei was changed to a dummy one. I have fixed it but I want to know why it did that. Thanks in advance

I am not that expert but add per my experience of you Flash old or previous version of base band file or modem file then it corpus your IMEI of device.
More info can be very by reading forums. Also kind XDA experts are always there for help.

I think that Samsung changed the way that the baseband recognize efs partition.. so switching between modems might mess up ur imei..
So make sure to have a backup of ur efs in ur phone and pc..

So does that mean that when the official 4.3 arrives for my country. All I have to do to restore (in case I have to bring it back for service) is to flash the latest 4.3 for my country and it shouldn't mess up my IMEI because it's the latest?

LOL yah! I almost had a heart attack when I realized that I had deleted my efs backup. Good think flashing an older modem brought back my IMEI. Now I have my efs backed up in multiple locations.

recovering imei
ı had the same problem many many times ago but ı solved it you must have an peak efs backup ın img format(something like efs.img)
1-ınstallıng a custom kernel(ı trıed speedwiz n2,perseus,adam kernel,neak both worked for me)
2-use ''arıza patch'' ou must have ınternet connection give su permission and then press ''yamayı uygula''(apply patch)(if you dont have an efs.img you may try backup efs img option in app)
3-the phone will reboot automatically now
4-open terminal emulator and give su permissions
5-type this ''dd if=/storage/extSdCard/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=4096'' (place efs.img onto the root of your extsdcard)
6-reboot
thats all ı'm using my phone with fake imeı and ı have to do ıt after all rom flashıng operations excluding cm,pa.aokp based roms and every time it worked for me good luck for you :good: and sorry for my bad english ı'm turk

Hi xdalebgeek try and flash this Modem in philz recovery it helped me when i lost my imei number if this don't work then you need to restore efs backup

Do you have a working, not corrupted efs.img and did you do operations step by step

yeah the efs.img is working but this efs backup contains the bad imei (0004....) so the imei does not change

oh my god thank you so much my imei is back again :laugh: though my phone is still displaying not registered on network what do you suggest me to do ? I'm thnking about making a back up for this working imei and flashing it on a new official 4.1.2 software , any hope for it to work ?

if you have not got a backup of the efs before you flashed any rom i would backup now and try a official rom to see if the network comes back and check if you have not got it in airplane mode. If possible try another sim

Just try to apply the "ariza patch", I had the same problem and I solved in this way.

I only know that my phone is GT-N7100 Telcel, i search info or help in spanish but they dosent know how , besides im completly noob of this, i just update mi phone and reboot, and my imei is 00049...etc, etc, and not register on the network

Thank you so much rizcom, my IMEI`S Phone is back and now i can send calls and recibe, but that modem only give me EDGE, i not have 3G or HDSPA, and im scary to flash again and my imei Cracks again haha, any solution?

Restart after Update

Hi
I rooted LG G3 in 4.4.2 rom to recovery some photos and then there was an update .after update the phone doesn't work normally .It restarts continual .it shows all update has been done 100% but after that it restarts. I need my contact number how can I access to my phone memory to get my contact backup .I got a backup before root but in phone memory

You can't update while rooted bad idea..You can try flashing a kdz (stock rom ) with flashtool and choose not to wipe your data this may work look in the forum on how to do this..
