I have searched up and down on google and these forums and this topic comes up regarding samsung galaxy 2 but not sony experia phones.
I am amazed that there aren't more users of these phones, that do not regard this as a annoyance or a problem. My phone is set to SILENT and still it vibrates when it is fully charged in the middle of the night and wakes me up as I use my alarm on phone to wake me up. Samsung got rid of this long time ago, HTC does not do this and Iphone does not do this eather. So why SONY why?
1. Why does Sony think this is great feature and their marketing or PO's think that waking their customers up in the middle of the night is a good idea?
2. Can this AWFUL FEATURE be disabled? Or do i have to root the phone to get rid of this?
I have come to the point of searching for a new phone because of this annoyance as my husbands HTC has less irritating and more user friendly phone/UI altogether.
Ty and yes I am irritated when I wrote this:fingers-crossed:
My Z1C never vibrate on fully charged battery.
Maybe it´s from an app u have installed ?

I contacted sony they said it cannot be disabled so it is a "feature". You have a rooted phone?
I also never experienced this behaviour on my z1 compact. What firmware are you on?

Why would Sony say it is a feature that cannot be disabled?
Strange.
You're complaining about a feature that's not in Sony's Android phone, at least the phone's I have been using since 2011. My bets are on that app you might have installed and forgotten about.

I know that feature only from some apps like battery calibrator.
Never had this on Z1C 4.3/4.4.2/4.4.4

Did you possibly flash new firmware and that happened? You need to give us some more details.

I don't got problems with listening to music, maybe some app is messing your phone. if you can't find the problem do a "Factory data reset", if this doesn't help you can bring the phone back and get a new one. It can always be a faulty phone.
My Arc sometimes reboots on me too but not randomly. It's always when it's doing something that maxes the CPU and I switch between apps simultaneously. It's quite annoying, no doubt. My old Desire never did this.
Hoping for a future fw update!

It's being reported in the SE forum as well. You don't notice the reboot unless u put your phone within your view the whole day. Thats when you will notice the random reboots.

I'm pretty confident its caused by buggy software and not broken hardware.
Looking forward to flashing some custom roms and kernels to get around this and up the perfomance
15 times
my arc have randomly rebooted at least 15 times in the past 3 days. it's so annoying. what's that thing with stuffing tissue paper on the back does it work?
i've reflashed mines twice now, and done reset to factory default on top of that after the second flash for good measure, and it's still rebooting when it feels like it. i uninstalled a weather widget, and i got almost 5 hours of constant uptime. i'm about to reflash it again and not install anything, maybe just battery monitor so i can tell how many hours/minutes i can get before it reboots again.
i read about the battery fit, and i have tried various things to try and see if that was the issue, but nothing physical seems to make it reboot, and like some others, i have seen it reboot when the lcd is off and the phone isn't doing anything.
i'd really like to be able to use this arc!
mine just had the first random reboot...first I thought that the battery was all drained out but then realised after switching it back on that it was at 20%...
the phone was on idle, locked...weird!!!
Just had my first random reboot after a months use, was using google nav while charging from the cigarette lighter. Quite annoying as i was trying to find my way somewhere and suddenly realised i hadnt had any instructions for a while. The phone had gotten quite hot - i think google nav must work it pretty hard.

If you use the home button to switch between recent apps a lot (i do) then it's pretty obvious if your phone's been rebooted as the recently used apps list is empty, so i'm fairly sure this is the first time my phone's rebooted on its own.
Random reboot here, too. ^^
I was typing an email with Google Mail app (with wifi and mobile data connection turned off, actually), when the screen became all coarse and broken (does anyone remember old DOS games crashes? ^^) and then it rebootet. Everything fine afterwards except for my email, which was gone.

The temperature which SIM will be unusable is exactly 40! I check the temperature with GO PowerMaster app, is it okay?
And I use Chrome so much, I guess chrome increases temperature significantly! Just wanted you to know.

Try updating your firmware or reinstalling it via PC Companion. If the issue still persists go to service centre and try reinstalling the firmware again.
I had similar problem on my Xperia Ion LT28h. I reinstalled the software through service centre and it helped. the temperature still goes high around 45 when I browsed internet or watched videos on youtube via 3G, but its better then before.
Also if the temperature goes till 45 degrees then its normal for a sony phone. Guys at sony claim it can go as high as 60.
Restarts
I dont know but i have somewhat similar problem. Actually my xperia SL gets restarted after frequent intervals even when it is idle or anything. Any one knows about it or having the same issue???

And you, when your phone is overheating, open the battery consumption report and check who's the damn app with the anormal consumption (usually on top of the list), i had a similar problem (couldnt keep the phone in my pocket when overheated!! ) and turned out the message app LINE had consumed 77% of the battery so far, even more than screen, and i didnt even used LINE so often, so i uninstalled it and voilá, problem solved.
So check the battery consumption list and take the culprit down.
My XS also heats up when surfing with 3g, Wifi is okay, but 3g make my SIM burn!
Already restored using SUS and with XZXperience 2 too.

Are you using a custom rom or kernel? Or are you on stock? The best way to solve these issues is to flash an ftf. If if doesnt get fixed then its probably a hardware issue. But id wait to see if others have ever had a similar problem.

Solved!
Solved after replacing flex cable.
I must say, 4.4 rolled out much better than expected.... especially for the C6506 users .... Started to download the FTF from XDA but then decided to check PC companion, and surprised to see that .230 was available (CANADA) so I went through that route... Normally C6506 is always lagging in updates, but this is a nice change.
- feels a bit choppy compared to .101 but I have noticed that updates take a few days to sort it self out, maybe had to do with thermal management
- Hoping for better battery life from .230, .101 had pretty good battery life
- probably need a few more tweaks to get pretty smooth and trouble free (but no issues so far)
So far so good, good job Sony :good:
UPDATE: hard reset fixed the the choppiness
Is anyone experiencing random shutdowns since the update? I almost can't disconnect from the charger without having this issue

no such issues, is it shutting down when the charger is disconnected only ?
Can't say that I've had that issue either... was seeing pretty decent battery life myself. And I concur that with the exception of Generic BR (which some are complaining about) it's been a really awesome rollout compared to past adventures...)
Anyone on Rogers see it yet?
I solved the choppiness (at least temporarily) by enabling "Force GPU Rendering" under Development Options. Seems like a nice ROM so far, we'll see about battery life. I've also rooted it by flashing a CM kernel, booting straight into Recovery, flashing SuperSU and immediately flashing back the .230 kernel.
It isn't available for my phone yet. Hopefully it'll be out soon in this week.

Unlocked, don't even think about flashing a non-Sony kernel with a non-unlockable bootloader! However, flashing official Sony ROMs (like sideloading .230) will work properly.
I tried booting with Sony's .423 kernel before unlocking my bootloader (you needed to flash that kernel to get root in JB with locked bl) and that went wrong, so don't try to do that either.
I'm having a massive consumption of memory.
befor update, i had something about 1000-1000 free mb. now it's 700-800
something as NFC controler, Xperia Link are always running in background (even disable and rebooted device)
"device usage" is consuming 12mb

I'm using the C6503 Vivo ftf from here and I had the same issue as yours.
My phone was working without any issues and right after a upgrade, I'm experiencing those random shutdowns. While unplugged, I get at most 45 seconds before the shutdown.
I wouldn't blame the battery, since the issue just started.
I must say that I was using the journalists version prior to the upgrade, no root, locked BL.

It's your battery... Does your phone actually "shutdown", as in does it show the powering off screen? Or does it just go black randomly, and won't boot past boot logo without being plugged in? If it's number 2, your battery's screwed.

my advice would be don't touch such settings. keep your device cool. try to install ram /task cleaner software!

There is no solution to this annoying problem. The phone was purchased from one month .... After a few minutes heats up and then start the screen in low lighting and not return to full brightness only after leaving the phone period to cooldown.
... Is this the problem on all phones Sony Z5 premium ????
If anyone have issue with this(Eveyone should), I have file that let you use 100% of screen brightness, of cause it's adjustable.
Basically let you have full control without Thermal limit kicks in.
Only thing is that the file can not be modified without ROOT...
Let me know
I just posted this in other thread,
It's call thermal-engine.conf, all you have to do is change all the numbers under "backlight" to 255(Max value).
It works great, I've been using it as is for more than one year.
It's located Root/system/etc/thermal-engine.conf
Mine works well with Lux Auto Brightness application.

I am using this device daily, in construction sites going in and out of shade and into my car. You have no idea how frustrating it is to not be able to read your screen while on the job. The Brightness slider will not respond anywhere beyond half way and the brightness will simply not increase. Had more than 10 Android phones in recent years, non of them had this kind of issue. How is that normal in any way?
This is clearly a bad hardware design by Sony.
How many screens with that high resolution did you have? I agree that the phone is heating really fast though..
Am having the same problem
