NF1 Issues Answering Phonecalls - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

On NF1 based roms, does anyone have issues answering calls like I do? I keep swiping to answer and it won't work, most of the time I miss the call. I didn't have this issue on an older build of TW.

No problems here. Bad flash, maybe?

Have rebooted your phone anytime lately? Also, if you have lots of tweaks you may be slowing down your phone responses.

Weird issue. I download two different ROMs from different threads, with the same issue. I don't known what the problem could be. I don't usually run a lot of tweaks on TW, I keep it mostly stock most of the time, except, that it could be related to a custom kernel. I'll try a stock kernel

Haven't had that issue. That's including experiences from 2 different note 3's. Stock and rooted.

Tried stock kernel. Same issue. I'll have to try to go completely stock and see if the problem returns. I don't know what it could be. Everything else is fine otherwise. Am I able to run the older kitkat ROMs with the newer stuff? If I can, I'll try to confirm that I don't have an issue with those.
EDIT: happened to try the Canadian S5 port, and I have no issues with answering calls. I will just use it for the time being.

I'm still having this issue and I'm completely stock. I don't know what's wrong. It doesn't exist when I'm running the S5 port or an AOSP rom. Anyone have an idea?
EDIT: Found out my baseband was outdated. It didn't update with the firmware update from Kies. I rooted the stock rom, and used Triangle Away, then Odin flashed the modem, things are well now.

[Q] Weird GPS problem. What happened?

Yesterday my gps wasnt working at all. It would not lock on no matter what I did. I was on a custom rom and I tried wiping my data/cache, reinstalling maps (just for giggles), and a multitude apps from the market that help deal with gps problems (gps fix, gps status, toolbox, etc).
When all this didn't work I decided to odin back to the last official JB update and still no gps. On a whim I decided to odin back to an ICS firmware and that made my gps work. I have no idea but it did. I then odin to UVDLJC, installed TWRP's most recent and restored my backup of the custom rom I was using in the first place and gps now worked.
While I'm happy as heck that my gps is now working and that it was not a hardware issue I'm extremely curious what happened.
I have flashed many roms lately and I cannot think what a custom rom can do to gps to hose it or if it was just one of those things. I would of thought that when I originally did an odin to UVDLJC that would fix the issue but that didn't. Whatever the flash to ICS did fixed it but what in the heck could that of been?
I figure if I can find out or get an idea what happened then I can steer away from flashing certain roms, or just be prepared that flashing any roms at all can make this happen again.
Same here.
Hello, ddcoh.
I am currently having the same issue you had with GPS not working. I've tried everything from trying tedious Play store apps to trying many different roms and kernels (clean installing every time) to completely reverting back to stock including using TriangleAway in case that did any help. Nothing worked. I have been thinking about going back to ICS to see if that worked but the last time I tried to downgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.0.4 I ended up soft bricking my phone even though I followed the steps word for word.
Can you tell how you went about downgrading to ICS and then back to JB, please? I use my GPS a lot and I would hate to find out it's a hardware issue.
Typically, it's been when people are going from 4.2 to 4.1.

Well I used odin to flash an T999_UVALEM which was a prerooted ICS rom. After booting it up I checked to see if GPS was working and it was.
I then used odin again to flash T999_UVDLJA which is a JB rom and booted it up also and saw that gps was working. Then I just restored a backup of a room I had been using and GPS still worked.
I've been out of town and noticed that after flashing a few roms that gps wasn't working so instead of doing all the above stuff I just flashed a cm10 rom. I believe I either used a cm10 nightly (or maybe 10.1, memory is hazy) or LiquidRom and that got the GPS working by just doing that. Not sure if that will work for you but you could always backup your setup using TWRP's latest and then flashing a cm10 rom and seeing if gps is working and if that fixes it then you could then just reboot and restore the rom you are currently on and that might fix your gps for you.

Having Wifi problems

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their wifi not wanting to turn on,
I've switched roms, I've went back to factory. Everything i can think of. So If anyone has some experience with this,
Or ANY clue whats wrong, Please let me know.
Thanks!
Why don't you tell us exactly what did you did when it stopped working
Nothing really, Just normal use on Stock when poof it didnt work anymore. I rooted and used custom kernels/roms to
try and get it back working. But it hasnt worked yet. I think It may have been after an OTA update from ATT. But that shouldnt linger after a full wipe, would it?
reboot your modem and router at home..
That Didnt work, It doesnt work on any wifi network. The phones wifi will not enable.
what does your baseband say?
Baseband is I317UCAMC3
ok, that is ok...what rom and kernel are you on?
Rootbox's 4.2.2 Rom with its default kernel. But this issue started happening on Stock, non rooted. And has persisted all the way through 3 different roms so far.
Ok, this is supposed to be only for the gt-n7100 version but it sounds real familiar and if it's a bug in jelly bean it could be your problem. Either way it shouldn't hurt to try.

Since we do not have a stock UCAMA3 Build to flash via odin, what build are you flashing to return the stock build ??
Are you downgrading and taking the update ??
We need more information..... as a step is missing I believe. ..g

GPS on 4.3 rom issue

Not sure if its just a issue I am experiencing or does happen to to others. This issue only happen on 4.3 roms let it be cm Roms or gpe Roms. Also I have tried different developer Roms and same issue. The issue that I'm having is GPS randomly stops and locks and is more noticeable when in long trips. This has led me to revert back to any 4.2.2 ROM and all is well. Has anyone else had this issue? I've tried wiping and formating internal drive different restore recoveries such as clockwork mod and twrp and same issue. I feel I don't miss much from 4.2.2 and 4.3 and why I don't mind staying on 4.2.2 but just find it very odd.

Yes ive also expirenced this with 4.3 roms. I also reverted back to the 4.2.2 roms because navagation is important to me. So you are not alone in this experience. Im not sure why this problem occurs however I can confirm it is happening. I do wish I had a resolution to this issue as ive tried many things with out success. Hopefully someone can resolve this issue in the future. hope this helps. Best wishes.

I've had this problem on a 4.2.2 ROM as well... after flashing a 4.3 ROM it went away, but I'm on another 4.2.2 ROM now and the GPS is fine. I'm not sure it's related to 4.2.2/4.3 in my experience.

Microphone withouth speaker doesn't work. Help

Hi, my name is Daniel and I am in serious need of some help. I have a rooted T999 for T-Mobile. TWRP recover installed. I am running into some frankly strange issues. If I am in a call and I am not using the speaker, no one is able to hear me. If I am in a call, they can hear me but with occasional clicking sounds and very bad quality. I tried re installing the baseband but it does nothing. Can anyone help me please?
Baseband version: T999UVEMJC
Thank you!
What Rom and Kernel do you have ? If on Stock then can you do factory reset ?
I am running complete stock. The only thing I put was TWRP 2.6.3 I believe. I have factory reset a few times to no effect.
If you are not on Touchwiz Stock 4.3, then please switch the Baseband to LJC.
Will that solve the mic not working without speaker?
Yes I suspect it might.
Ok, I downloaded the correct basebadnd you told me and flashed it through TWRP. I booted and it showed no signal. Then I went into setting, networks, and mobile networks and it said please insert SIM card. I cleared cache and installed the old baseband and it works but in the same manner.
I don't think you mentioned your Current Rom. Please also provide Kernel.
I have taken a screens hot and attached it. Should help answer your question, I hope
Please if possible, try a AOSP Rom instead of Stock Touchwiz. At the least it will rule out hardware issues. If that's not an option, and SELinux is enforcing, I don't know if you can change.
Yeah, I tried a AOSP rom and no dice. I was looking online and saw that I am actually not the only one. Other people who took the 4.3 update seem to be having this issue.
The AOSP Rom took out the TW Rom as a culprit. If you still have an issue the probably a hardware issue.
Hey guys so I was looking and it turns out I'm more clueless than even I originally suspected. The ROM I originally flashed was based off of Touchwiz. What ROM should I be flashing because I cannot seem to find one that is aosp to the core?
The one I was going to try was Dirty Unicorn but I cannot tell if that even is what I should be trying.
Try Liquidsmooth, Pacman, SlimBean and so on. There are a number of quality Roms out there. I only suggested 3 that first popped into mind
Alright. I'll try those.

Downgrading back to kitkat

Well after being plauged with all kinds of issues on various 5.0.x ROMs I think I'm ready to head back to kk. Everything from Bluetooth issues to dropping calls to message duplicates to no messages to no group MMS and everything in between has occurred on my poor G3. I'm just wondering if there's any issue with downgrading. Right now I'm running a rooted stock 20B.
If anybody has suggestions of a super stable 5.0 ROM I'm all ears but I've tried CM12 (nightlies) which I had the most faith in and then the stock thinking "there's no way this could be messed up". Clean flashed them both multiple times and still having an array of issues.
Sorry for the rant just frustrated right now with a fantastic phone because I had to go and mess with it lol
Cheers
Well anything other than stock is based on CM. So bluetooth is basically useless on those roms if you use a headset for calls. If one rom has an issue than most likely they all will so I generally stay away.
Stock 20b has been just fine for me though. I would suggest a kdz to 20b if your still having issues. Are you using stock messaging because the issues could be with your 3rd party app with texting issues?
Its basically CM, 20b or 10r. If you can't get 20b to work right for you then your best bet is to go back to 10r and be done with it till 20c is released.
I pesonally don't use CM based roms due to the camera and bluetooth. Too many issues with those yet.
I might kdz to 20b and see if that helps. I was reading about that last night. I've tried all messenging apps including stock. No luck. I've messed with the APN settings and then gone back to stock. No luck. Kinda banging my head against a wall here lol. I'll probably kdz tonight when I get home and fingers crossed that'll work. Thanks

I am in the same boat as you. I wanted all the bells and whistles of the CM12 roms but so many problems.
Planning to throw in the towel and get the Note 4.
I am currently on LP xTreme v1.0 and everything works on it so far. (Bluetooth, Wifi calling, Messaging, LTE sticks)
Did have a minor hiccup when sending SMS while connected on Wifi but it hasn't lately.
This will have to do for now until I go back to Samsung, they seem to have a lot of nice roms over there :crying:
Good luck to you.

krowley3 has released his version of LP rom based on stock LP. i have been running his v3.5 (kitkat) since it came out as I see no enhancements and too many issues with LP roms that have been released since. I will probably try his new LP version out in next week or 2 myself. Judging by the past year almost of running his rom...absolutely no issues and the most stable experience I have ever has with a custom rom...
Thanks for the info... Maybe I'll give that a shot before heading back to good ol KK

Unless you backed up your efs in twrp the modem will stay at lollipop. That is the only way to get back the KK modem. But hopefully others can chime if there is an alternative way that was recently discovered.
just flash the 10r kdz and it will take u back to stock and just re-root.... what i did..
