found this article and wanted to share with those who don't know about it..This fix was originally found by Redditor xStreame, and it was then expanded upon and reposted by pr01etar1at:
Open Google Now
Search for “OK Google everywhere”
Click any link [may be unnecessary but I did it]
Back out to Google Now
Go to Settings>Voice
Audio History and Anywhere Detection should now be available as settings.

P. S. Nevermind, figured it out!

Works on stock with root. Now I can actually use that feature. Thanks to the DEVs and for posting.
Just a heads up, this seems to break the s health app. When I installed this mod, s health would crash whenever I tried to start it

When you first open hangouts after the updated it will ask you if you wanted to integrate sms / hangouts together.
A couple of us here at work updated and it updated us with 1.2 still lol. Found an APK download somewhere. Works great! Glad the fiddling and fidgeting is gone. Now if only it had Hangouts/SMS thread integration like iMessage
I tried the apk that was posted and it worked. However...I'm stock not rooted. I can't see that being good. It's not official from Google?

Sad that there's no widget T_T
I love it. But lightflow doesn't play friendly with the notifications. Nor does stock contacts app when you change message ringtone for people. Doesn't work. Because these features are probably setup for the stock messenger which hangouts is taking over.

Google had said they used a special low-power audio chip to listen for the magic words. So if you enable "google now" on a phone without the magic chip built in, assuming it works, isn't that going to kill battery life?
You could do all this to get ok google... or... you could just download open mic+ from playstore and enable ok Google through Google now. Pretty easy.

True but if you don't want a separate app this literally takes 3 minutes. Eventually google now will open up to this and you won't need a third party app. As for battery I have not noticed any difference.

it works perfectly, but it kills the ability to use the video camera function. you end up with an error that something else is using the audio, and it refuses to record anything

the new update is a bit laggy ..
i dont like the camera UI doesnt remember the prvious settings like it was with 4.1.2
battery is good only with wifi n data off i used it to capture pics n video yesterday and i had 40% left after using for hours but with data turned on it drains batter too much
I enabled google everywhere again and tried different camera and it worked with no issues. Seems like the stock apps have something conflicting.
