I need opinions here, both these audio mods are by viper but which is better. The XHiFi or the Viper4android?

Viper4android is wonderful, and will be the only project continued by the developers. Development of XHiFi has stopped as stated in his blog.
XHiFi is an option in the newer versions under "Viper clarity". Also, the XHiFi .apk will not work on our phones as it doesn't support 4.4.

I was curious as to how they sounded because this was the first I had heard of either of them and I ended up keeping them. Plus my m8 isn't on 4.4.4 it's on 4.4.2 I think because of my Rom, so I figured I might as well try it if I have the capability haha

4.4.2 is still 4.4. I was just surprised it worked for you, especially with both installed. Regardless, as stated above, the development for the XHiFi version has stopped and that feature is now included in the newer version. :good:

So the app is downloadable but it asks for framework, and m919 is not there.
Does anyone know how to get the framework on the stock rom? (I repeat stock rom, not infamous rom.)

I do believe the framework from another GS4 model would work; don't know why it would have to be model-specific.

I do believe ours is MDL... unless a new update has been pushed through T-Mobile.... though I don't think so. You could always make a backup and try to install the framework for one of the others... if it doesn't work, just restore that backup and no harm done.

As I said before, best bet would be to make a nandroid backup and try one. If it doesn't work, you can always fall back to a working backup. Well, that or use an i9505 ROM with the updates already added; but I assume WiFi calling is an issue so that would rule out the intl versions.
You can't, the dev of three minute has asked that no dev port his framework without his consent. At the moment, only infamous has the ok to use it.

For Google Play Edition 4.3 ROMS
Hey guys, I love the Google Play Edition rom with the exception of poor quality Mms picture messaging. So I modded the Mms.apk to allow for 1000k Mms messages rather than 300k.
I packaged this into a flashable zip and it's all yours to use. Feel free to use this in your roms devs.

The method is different though. You could even do it yourself its in something like system/customize/defaults.xml or something like that. I'm not home so I can't find out exactly but if you find that file you can edit the section that says 300k to 1000k and then wipe your data for the messaging app.

Honestly that happened to a couple days ago, I had to reflash the rom(No wiping) and then boot it to get the old Mms back.
Then you can try flashing this, it's your modded one except it's signed, I apparently didn't do that last time. But like I said, if you just haul off and flash this, it's probably not going to show up since you didn't reflash the rom. But you can try whatever you want.
Can you report back if this works..

I am just posting this to see if there is any interest in a pure google build AOSP rom? this means not using CMs build system. Let me know.
I'd be interested in a pure Google based ROM.

Absolutely. I've been using the GPe-based ROMs over CM11 just because I love that pure-stock experience.

By stock I mean the exact variant of Android that comes per-installed on your Nexus 7, which you could also consider as Google AOSP.
It comes pre-installed with all Google services and applications (Chrome vs AOSP Browser, Play Newstand, Play Music/Movies/Books, ect.)
EDIT: I just realized I wasn't in the Nexus 7 forums. Sorry guys.
Yes this means vanilla like a nexus would be shipped with from factory

Seems like a pretty easy build then.
Just AOSP with the Google suite (and GEL?)

HTC adds quite a bit to their builds frame work wise. Total size of my ROM if you include gapps size is still about 200 mb less than a gpe ROM. You would have same functionality as GPe minus beats audio

About 5 months ago when i had the S4, a guy in the International s4 forums said he almost had wifi calling working on his cm11 builds, but never completed it. cant remember his username, he also made the dual boot mod for the s4.
The Nexus 4 and T-Mobile S3 had bounty threads for this. The N4 bounty topped out at around $1,400 if I remember right. Both bounties were not collected. Even though the source is released and it is "possible," in over a year no one has completed it.
