Hi,
I am running SlimKat 6(latest stable release) and BMS 2014-07-01. Anyone else experience this problem when connecting to your car via bluetooth?

I would suggest you try another kernel (or version of that kernel), BT is controlled by it.

BWolf56, thanks for the response! I attempted to run LeanKernel and tried the stock kernel for SlimKat as well. The bluetooth functionality seems to work on a reboot, but it dies if I try to use it again. It might just be the ROM itself.
Thanks!

Question:
How do I extract the kernel from CyanogenMod 7.2, so that I can install it as a zip into a different ROM? Do I have to build from source?
Why I ask:
I'm trying MIUI (1.12.9 from MIUI.us), but it has a Bluetooth problem. It can pair with my laptop and can connect to send files, but it won't connect to a program I have (Type2Phone) that lets me use my laptop as a Bluetooth keyboard for my mobile devices. All I get is "Paired but not connected." CyanogenMod (7.2.0 and 9) and AOKP (official ICS) don't have this problem; it's specific to MIUI.
I think it's a kernel issue. This MIUI version is based on Android 2.3.5 and comes with kernel version 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g9e5cdf1. If CM 7.2.0 (which is based on Android 2.3.7) final has a different kernel version, I'd like to try installing that kernel into MIUI if possible.

Have you tried it with aeros kernel? His .7 was the preferred kernel by many.

I'd try it but I can't seem to find any links to it that aren't broken.

Ask reville. He had some old stuff on a site of his I think. If you can't get it from him I may have it. I am going to bed but I can maybe check tomorrow.
And look back at the miui thread and see if it was posted in the last few pages.

Download dsixda rom kitchen.
You can extract kernels using that.
Try googling!

Revile's site:
http://vivow.pcharpoon.com/
But you will only get back to .8 kernel.

Though I had it. Hope this helps.

Thanks, everyone. I ended up going with khamsakamal48's unofficial MIUI v4 ROM, which solves my Bluetooth problem and is really good. So far it's my favorite ROM, compared to stock 2.3.3, CM 7.2, CM9, and AOKP ICS. Between that ROM, Google Now for ICS (MIUI Now), a replacement MicroSD card I bought yesterday (previous one was defective), and finding out that my headphone jack wasn't damaged (works with earbuds, just not the big headphones I'd been trying it with), it feels like I've got a whole new phone.

Thanks. I'll make note of that for future reference.
Hey guys,
I've noticed recently that when i flash any kernel that is compatible with my rom, it results in black screen on reboot. But its as if the phone is active in the sense that i can hear the phone make the unlock sound when i pretend to unlock it. so its all there but the screen is black.
Rom i am on currently: Carbon 4.2.2 stable release
Kernels Ive tried: BMS, KT both of which are 3.4 version needed for the rom i use.
I've cleared cache, fixed permissions, factory reset and started from scratch with installling the rom and then flashing the kernel with the same issue.
Ended up doing a restore of nandroid for phone to work. But still cant flash any kernels that I know for sure are compatible with any rom. This doesnt seem to be a rom or kernel specific issue because i've tried different combinations. Like for example i tried the aokp tasker with KT with same symptoms pr for example liquid smooth with BMS etc.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
What's the release date of your rom? Try using a kernel release of that date or earlier.

the latest version of carbon rom 1.61 is what is I use regularly. I've tried older versions of this and other roms but the issue persists.

the release date of that rom is 3/29. i would try a 3.4 kernel with a release date of 3/29 or earlier to see if this corrects the issue.

You need to use an older version of a kernel. Either 4/15 for BMS or 4/11 for KT747. The most recent builds have display commits that are required on the ROM for the display to work.
ktoonsez 4/11 release: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1916103&d=1367068269
Thanks for the response guys. I've tried flashing the older version of KT kernel as suggested. Thanks for the link man. Unfortunately, the same issue again: On boot, it goes all black. The difference though is that this time while the screen is black, there is no sound response by tapping on the screen. I tried increasing the volume to see if there was any difference but still nothing.
I guess i'll be fine. The only reason i tried flashing a different kernel was so i could enable fast charge.
Thanks for the help guys.
Cheers
flash tasks 4/23 build. its stable, bug free (for me) and has the fast charge feature in addition to amazinf battery life. cheers
Hello! I've searched quite a bit but have been unable to find anything to address the frustration I'm having. Recently I have been having an issue where my phone will restart itself at random intervals. The best way to recreate the issue is to use a streaming media app like Spotify/YouTube/Google Play Music/etc but it does happen at other times as well. This will occur on all ROMs I've tried including AOKP, CM10.1, Carbon, etc.
I believe I have narrowed the issue down to the 3.4 kernel as all the ROMs I've flashed in recent weeks have been using 3.4. If I use an older ROM (such as the stable release of CM10 with the 3.0 kernel) I do not have the issue.
It gets even stranger...I have found that LeanKernel is the only 3.4 kernel to work and has been stable for about 3 days on my device. So apparently I am stuck with reflashing LeanKernel after each ROM update if I want to run the latest and greatest.
My question is two-fold....
Is this a known issue for the AT&T GS3?
Any suggestions to fix this problem?
For the record, I have reverted to the stock, unrooted ROM and do not have the issues there.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
Issues and bugs with 3.4 kernels are known. This is not specific to you.
I am running tasks 4/23 with the packaged kernel. No issues. Full wipe is key

Thanks for the feedback. I may look at Task's ROM in the future.
I just rooted my Samsung Gio and I'm planning to flash a custom ROM. I checked a couple ROM and there seems to be some wifi or bluetooth problems (eg can't route music via bluetooth, etc). Is there a stable ROM with working camera, wifi, bluetooth + good battery (these are my major requirements, not necessarily the newest ROM)? Any recommendation? Thanks!!

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try them out.

i currently use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946903&page=4
the best rom for gio i ever tried, also is stock based so everything works
Hi. you can recommend any Rom which is excellent in battery and stability? I have a e975
omnirom or pure aosp http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-intl/orig-development/romgeehrcaosp6-009-10-15-t3221743
very light also
thanks, I'll try the AOSP rom
just know that aosp is "pure" android. no extras no nothing!
for gapps use these http://opengapps.org/
i use pico cause i like to install all my apps myself (and i dont use the extra features like face unlock)
see what they do and choose accordingly!
If you want stock lg features, try sling kahroba edition. I m sure that it s excellent in battery and stability
