Hi. I have an HTC One M7 unlocked. I am currently using an AT&T sim in it. The problem is I can't seem to upgrade my phone to the new sense 6.0 since it requires the phone to be on CDMA network to update the software which is kind of lame since it's unlocked now. Is there a workaround for this or do I have to install a new rom? Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Dear all,
my HTC One X was unlocked with htcdev and the mobile device was rooted. Now I have big problems to pair my HTC with my VW bluetooth device. I would like to install the new OTA which was published some days ago by T-Mobile.
Currently I am using Android 4.03 with HTC Sense 4.0 Software 1.26.111.4
The new OTA is 1.28.111.x. ow can I proceed to get this OTA installed without danger to brick my phone ?! I am novice for Android.
Thanks in advance.

hello mate. what i did was before i rooted my phone was made a backup of my stock rom. that was on 1.26. then i flashed a rom and all was good. my carrier released the OTA so what i did i reverted back to my backup and then did not need to lock bootloader or anything and just flashed the OTA and my phone got updated. then just installed the latest cwm recovery and back on a custom rom
since you do not have a custom rom on i am pretty sure you can update since you have not flashed any roms. if you have the option to update OTA then go for it mate.
but make sure if you have custom recovery to flash back to the stock one. you can get stock recovery.img from this thread here in the first post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Hey guys quick question I am thinking of getting an unlocked what looks like international version of the one X on ebay, (because of the 32gb and quad core CPU) but I was wondering how does this phone play with tmobile's network. will it access hspa 41 network? or just the hspa 21? any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys,
I am getting an ATT branded but unlocked M8 and I was wondering if I could root it and put on the software that is on the international M8, completely stock so I can get future updates from HTC directly rather than ATT, is that possible? Thanks!
Yes
You will have to change the CID to the model you want OTA from as well as flash its recovery and stock ROM

Hey guys,
I've been searching but couldn't find anything that really helps with my problem. I bought an HTC One M8 last year, it was supposed to be unlocked from factory but when it arrived it turned out it was an unlocked AT&T model. Anyways so I tried to root the phone but it was already rooted and running a TWRP (I don't know how this happened as the phone was sealed when I got it) I have no problem with this but as the phone is rooted and doesn't have the stock recovery I can't get any OTA and I'm still in 4.4.2. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me update my device to stock 5.0.1 without flashing a custom ROM.
Thanks

First off, there is no stock 5.0.1 for the AT&T version yet. There isn't even a 4.4.4 released yes (although it might be anytime soon).
Further, you aren't going to receive any OTAs since you aren't connected to the AT&T network. Some folks not specifically familiar with AT&T will disagree, saying the OTAs will come over WiFi even if not connected to the specific carrier. But AT&T is pretty unique in this regard (well, maybe other carriers in the US do it too, but not WWE versions).
You can download an official RUU to upgrade to 4.4.3. Then wait for RUUs to be posted for 4.4.4 and/or 5.0.1. That is all you can do at this time without s-off. With s-off, you can convert to any version you want, and get official OTAs that way (such as convert to WWE version), or run the US Developer's Edition 5.0 RUU.

Excuse me but what is WWE exactly? Ok so my two options are use sunshine to make my htc s-off and convert to another version or flash a custom rom with 5.0.1?
Thanks for your help.

World Wide English. Which doesn't really say much. Its the "international" version sold in Europe and other places.

Nope, your second option won't work. You need firmware on your phone that is compatible with 5.0.1, otherwise WiFi will be broken, and.or extreme long boot times (>10 minutes). And the only way to update your firmware is with s-off (until AT&T releases more updates).
So really, if you want to update now, your only option is s-off.
Ok dude, thanks for your help. I guess I'll have to s-off

If you want to update now, that is what I suggest. I don't see LP coming to AT&T for another month at least, and it might be even longer than that (months). We're still waiting for 4.4.4.
Be sure to check bootloader and confirm if its s-on or s-off (says one or the other near the top of the hboot screen). Since it was already rooted and bootloader unlocked, who knows, you might have lucked out and gotten a phone that is already s-off as well.
Yeah and like you said if I'm not connected to the AT&T network I might never get the update so it is the only option. BTW I checked and it's S-On =(
Thanks for your help.
I am using an unlocked Verizon HTC One M7 here in the philippines.
I am on android 4.4.3 Stock and whenever I try to update my Unlocked Verizon HTC One M7 through OTA on my phone, it prompts me that I should be in CDMA. How do I turn on and off CDMA mode and can I download the update through wifi?
I am in full stock rom, not rooted, locked bootloader.
Should I update to Lollipop or stay with kitkat?
Please Help!
Thank you so much and God Bless
I have an unlocked at&t htc one m9, I bought it locked to the at&t network then unlocked it.
I'am looking to update the phone using the official rom from htc but am unsure on what one to use - the one for the at&t version of the phone or the one for unlocked/developer phones?
thanks in advance
Unless you're S-OFF, you can only use updates from your carrier.
If you get your phone to S-OFF state, you can change the CID. This will allow you to flash other updates (like the developer version update - often released well before any carrier update).
The downside is that with S-OFF, it is much easier to brick (as in hard-brick - never coming back) your phone. Always good to read and re-read instructions and ask questions before flashing.

I can't help you there, sorry. Check around the forums - the 'sticky' threads will probably get you going in the right direction.
I assume you mean carrier unlocked, not bootloader unlocked. Obviously you haven't converted your device, in which case, you should only flash official AT&T software.
I got the Developer Edition and the only difference between the AT&T M9 and the Developer Edition is
AT&T M9 has AT&T apps and bloat ware, and last to get any ota updates.
Developer Edition no carrier apps or bloat ware and first to get ota updates.
If u don't use or care for all the AT&T apps and want ota updates soon as they drop then go ahead and convert your AT&T M9 to the Developer Edition.

Personally I would root and profit but that's me..
Other option is the 1st answer in this thread, once S-Off you can roll back to stock if necessary.
