[Q] Virgin Mobile Galaxy Nexus ITL41F.I9250UGKL1 update

Hey guys, I'm currently on a Virgin Mobile Galaxy Nexus on Fido, and have yet to receive an update to ITL41F.I9250UGKL1
So far I've been hearing only of Bell Galaxy Nexus owners getting this update in Canada.
Is there anyone with Virgin Mobile that received their update?
I'm currently on ITL41D.19250UGKK7
Update: Woke up this morning, checked for update, and there it was, ITL41F.I9250UGKL1

Doesn't google roll out based on IMEI number? I think it's luck of the draw to when you'll actually get it.

Same here: Virgin Mobile GN on Fido. Still ITL41D.UGKK7 right now. My device is a yakjuux build (I believe it's the same for all Bell/Virgin Mobile users too).
I almost flashed the stock Google images yesterday (ITL41F.XXKK1 / original yakju build), but decided to wait for an actual OTA. I don't think it's a good idea to revert to the default XXKK1 baseband. The versions I tend to see in Canada (either UGKK7 or newer UGKL1) seem to work better here.
Anyone else able to chime in?

Got a virgin mobile GN with ITL41D. I am using a mobilicity sim card with it (don't think that would affect an update though). No updates yet.

Go with file explorer (es file explorer, root explorer,astro etc etc) in /system/build.prop and open in it.Try to find the line ro.build.fingerprint=...... check what it writes after that.If it writes google/yakju/maguro etc etc then you are on yakju

I got the update notification yesterday on my Virgin Mobile Galaxy Nexus. Of course, I couldn't apply it since I'm rooted with CWM and all that. Anyone have a URL yet?

Could someone dump the UGKL1 radio please? Thanks.

NO. The radio provided in those images is XXKK1. I would like the UGKL1 radio (or the URL for the update from someone's logcat) from those who managed to get the OTA on a yakjuux build (which is what all the Bell- and Virgin-sold devices are running).

Do you know what is different betweeen these radio images? XXKK1 and UGKL1?
Another method commonly used to obtain OTA files:
OTA files are generally first downloaded to the /cache. If somebody with root access downloads the OTA, before they attempt to apply it, they can adb pull the .zip file from the /cache directory and post online.

Based on this, it would seem that:
1) the XXKK1 radio is localized for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, United Kingdom, while the UGKL1 radio is localized for North America; and
2) The UGKL1 radio is newer.

UG is north america
KK/KL is the date in YM format where the letter represents the number of the year or month. K = 11, L = 12 so KK is 2011/11, KL is 2011/12
The 1 on the end is the revision number.
XXKK1 is the first revision in november for region XX (west europe)
UGKL1 is the first revision in december for region UG (north america)
If noone else dumps I will eventually. I want a copy of this baseband for my own purposes. It may be some time for me though as I am still learning about SDK/ADB/Fastboot/Root and I am trying to learn the long way instead of just using the quick apps.
Can anyone tell me am I able to combine ROM with different basebands? Like for example if I want the straight YAKJU build can I still use UGKL1? It seems so from my reading but I'm looking for confirmation.

Yes, you can combine any radio with any ROM.

As efrant said above, you can combine a ROM with a specific baseband. Just flash the correct filenames in the right order (bootloader, then radio, then image).
The steps would roughly go like this:
fastboot-windows oem unlock
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primekj10.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio UGKL1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
fastboot oem lock

Only people in my contacts have called me so far (so the name only came up because they were already stored). I'll do a test with an outside caller and let you know as soon as I find out.
Have you tried calling Fido and making them reset Name Display? (removing and re-switching the service on)

Not yet. I called and asked why it's doesn't work but received expected answer 'contact with manufacturer'....

Interesting. Your update notice says "Galaxy Nexus" and mine said "Nexus Prime" which I thought was a bit strange...

[Q] 925i ROM on a 925t S6 Edge?

Well, I'm from Brazil and when travelling in USA decided to buy the new Galaxy S6 Edge. Looked for the unlocked international version but could not find it. So, searching the web I saw that the T-Mobile frequencies are the same from my brazilian carrier (Claro). Bought it!

Now I'm trying to get rid of the T-mobile stuffs (logos and apps). So decided to try to install a international ROM (SM-G925i - Brazil ZTO) with no success. Odin gave me "fail". Tryied to root (CF - autoroot using the S6 version because the S6 Edge version was briking my phone) and it worked. Then I tryied to install the ZTO room again also with no success.
So I change it back to default T-Mobile ROM, that I don't know if it is locked or no (will try my carrier chip later because the one I have isn't micro - need to buy one).
But it seems that the SM-G925T have some king of lock to block the instalation of ROMs from other countries (market!).
Is there any way to bypass it? In other words can I install a SM-G925i ROM on a SM-G925T S6 Edge?

It's not just this phone. Most modern handsets do not allow installation of other model ROMs. Developers can make hacked up versions that work, but there are serious risks of problems with those ROMs. Your best bet is to root, install Titanium Backup Pro, and freeze the T-Mobile stuff. Don't uninstall anything. T-Mobile handsets are fairly unbloated as it is, so it's not a big order.

All right.. just updating... with the stock T-Mobile ROM I tryied my carrier SIM card and.......... "invalid SIM card" message appeared. So the T-Mobile S6 Edge IS locked! And it didn't even ask me for a code!

dc/dc, if the bootloader is locked is there a way to unlocks it? Maybe TWRP?
What I'd like to do is install a umbranded international ROM and continue to get the OTAs!

The bootloader isn't locked. The phone can be network unlocked using an app that came on the phone (Device Unlock maybe?)

Yes, but the permanent unlock says that my device isn't elegible and the temporary unlock says that fails to apply the unlock! I'm already in Brazil so I cannot go to a T-Mobile store to fix it

Inserted my carrier SIM card with the T-Mobile ROM rooted but got the same message "Invalid SIM card".
It's insane.. that should be a way to get the network unlocked using other method than asking it for T-Mobile.

You needed to use that app to unlock it before returning to Brasil, and you would need a T-Mobile account. There are some sites that have the codes, so just do a search through here.

It´s a matter of fact that if you got a t-mobile phone locked, ther is no way to avoid the app, and if you are not elegible, you just can wait for a rom that can be flashed to overcome the app.

I contacted T-Mobile and got the response that I need to have $100 in my account to be "elegible" to network unlock my phone.
Man, it's really insane! In Brazil all phones must be unlocked and if one is locked the carrier must unlock it for free.. that's the law!

Honestly, it's not T-Mobile's fault that you didn't do your research.

There is no research that can fix a stupid american law that constraints consumers to be tied in a carrier allowing it to have "elegibilities" to be free. Honestly, I think acting this way isn't the american spirit, for shure!

There's no law involved at all. The telecom industry in the USA is simply different than in Brasil. It's changing, but no country will ever work the same as another. It's not T-Mobile or the USA's fault that you're having trouble. Sorry mate.

All right buddy... let's get ride of the "off topic" discussion. Thanks for helping me!
As I'll be able to be back in USA only at october and there is no way to send my Edge to TM, I'll continue to wait for a way to install a international ROM on it or wait for a MPCS ROM to unlock it after rooted and get back to TM ROM but network unlocked! This way besides having the TM stuffs and logos I can use my carrier SIM and continue receiving the OTAs at least!
Any news I'll let you know!

youre correct. I think alot of people are having a hard time understanding whats going on with these phones. Im in the same boat. Have an S6 edge TMOB and I cant get the damn thing unlocked. Scour the internet every morning for an answer..
I also have a 128GB S6 TMOB and the Metro firmware worked just fine. We need to be able to flash another rom to this phone to get the phone to accept the unlock code. Im not a developer so Im stuck waiting like you

I do the same.. Every morning with the hope to find a solution..
I think we only need a developer who want really do that.. I follow this forum and see amazing developers..

I just got a G7 from eBay. On the back it has sticker says LG-G710PM but when I check under the hardware info in setting it says "LG-G710ULM" and the S/N is blank. It has a weird software version too

Yes, this is legit. Someone flashed the European firmware onto the device.

I think its not the European version software these phones have, it must be US version ULM (Unlocked) FIRMWARE software, But the phone is a G710PM (Sprint) Hardware model. There must be an issue with sprint i think and that's why you have no BARS, If not contact the ebay SELLER.

I don't actually know.... But I think I unlocks all bands there's this YouTuber that did that on a LG G6.... You should see his video.

Data actually isn't yet, but I imagine that I just need to fiddle a bit.

Anyone else have thoughts on this phone? I also just bought an LG G7 (USA Unlocked) from eBay seller yywireless and it has the exact info as the OP has. Price is great, but I'm concerned about the Security Patch Level showing "1 May 2018" and when I try to update the phone OTA it says it's already up to date. Wondering what are the risks if I keep the phone? S/N shows as blank also. Other that this it seems to work perfectly! Do we think the bootloader is still locked like other US phones or maybe it's unlocked and will allow a flash to an alternate ROM? I'm a newb, so looking for advice here on whether to keep the phone or not. Lots of these still listed on eBay as we speak... thanx.

i flashed that same Fi firmware, but i can't get data to work on sprint, just voice and text. Did you figure this out?

Yes, it's now working on Sprint fully. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think it was mainly APN settings, I was playing with the "secret menu" to select correct bands etc. but again if I remember correctly it was the APN settings that did it.

what seller was it purchased from? i want to purchase one but a bit skeptical since they dont want to give out the imei for me to check.

almost any seller on ebay its selling Sprint Version with Crossflashed Firmware. gonna be very hard to find Non-Crossflashed one. maybe T-mobil one.

The older FI kdz has issues with data, search on the g7 threads for the bootloader unlock and you will find 11g (newer oreo), then in same post you will find out how to get sprint data working.

Also 11g is not the newest, you can now update to 20e for pie and updated security patches

Hello guys. I have an issue about updates with my GT Master Edition. Since I bought the phone in september I didn't received any update and the build number is RMX3363_11_A.05 with August 2021 security patches.
I live in Romania but the phone was received from Italy, I also tryied with vpn and selected different countryes but nothing. I've done a reset to the phone but again, no result. What can be the problem?

Updates ( read: patches ) get rolled out by OEM if they deem it necessary.

Yes I know but I was broswing a little and this phone received monthly updates and now it shoud have december security patches. That's why it seems strange

try changing region to UK and connect to UK on VPN as well. Then try checking for update, it worked for me

I just received the update with december 2021 security patches. I'm in EU.

No, still nothing. I am keep trying to ask on other forums but no answer. And also keep trying using VPN with different countries but still nothing. I don't know what to say.

At the bottom is the factory version. What is written after rmx3363? Is it GDPR?

What is written on the phone box? On my box is written, This product is only for sale and use in EU. I saw somewhere that the "export" version is for India, Taiwan ....

I don't have the written who says "for sale and use only in EU...", there is only the sticker with the info about the phone. I saw on other boxes that written but on mine not.
I have tried to connect to Germany, UK, Netherlands, Italy and more... If you say this version is for India, should l try a India VPN? But these servers are not free, l should buy the app.

No need to buy, just download this, tap on free server tap Spain and look in updater !

Isn't it written on your box like this? If vpn hasn't helped so far, then you bought a phone for the global market. Since you said it was written on your phone "export", it probably means that the phone is for the global market. Where you bought the phone? In a legal sale or through an ad?
See the picture I added, "realme3". Still, for India it is "rmx3360". In the table, after "rmx3363export" is written, ID(Indonesia), IQ(Iraq),Egypt(EG),AE(Emirates),BD(Bangladesh)....
Try to connect to those countries. If you can't, sell the phone and buy a phone that is for the European market.

Look, this is the box from my phone . It was a challenge on Instagram so l won this phone from Realme Italy. But actually l am living in Romania. Maybe it was like a internal version and is not for all markets, l don't know what to say. The phone is working perfectly but l have in my brain this thing with the updates.... Always like to have the last one.
I also tried India vpn but still nothing, l have enough of this. l will sell it and buy the GT Neo 2. Thanks for all your replies.

Question Need help to Convert SM-F936U/DS ATT Fold 4 to Indian Fold 4 version?

So I am using AT&T version Zfold 4 model SM-F936U/DS in India and my software version is as follows:
Build number
SP2A.220305.013.F936USQU1AVGA
Service provider software version
SAOMC_SM-F936U_OYN_GCF_12_0003
GCF/GCF.GCF/XAA
Its stuck on android 12 May update.
I want to flash Indian firmware to make it Indian version of Z fold 4 for faster updates and enabling the call recorder.
What do I need to do? Any help will be appreciated. If this is answered anywhere please provide links to that thread and I will delete this one.
I am totally confused about CSC, firmware version, carrier version etc.

Not gonna happen without root, even then might be difficult.
The Indian model is a F936B model. Trying to flash the firmware on it is like trying to flash IOS on an android.
Did see a way to change CSC in the forum however I believe you needed to have the compatible variant as it needed the OXM ROM flashed 1st.

Thanks for the reply. I am browsing the forums for a solution and so far have got nothing. I don't want to root the device as of now.

Hii have a zfold f936b bought from eBay.
It says IMEI is 00000000 and when I insert sim nothing happens.
Any idea what are my options ?

Your phone, F936U, is carrier locked to the U.S. network, AT&T, and if genuine, can only receive updates when connected on their network as unlike other models, AT&T issue their own firmware updates.
This model also has a locked bootloader which prevents the flashing of alternative stock firmware.
Also, it seems strange that a phone that was only launched in August 2022 would have a, "May", update. Install DevCheck, free from the Play Store and check if you have a clone phone.

I got it carrier unlocked. Everything works fine in India with major carriers, even getting 5G to work here. Attaching screenshots of DevCheck

Seems genuine. Your mention of a May update threw me.
It is running the F936USQU1AVGA firmware which it was launched with and therefore, has never received an update.
However, it is still a bootloader locked model, even though you have it carrier unlocked. The only way to update it is to insert an AT&T SIM card and connect to their network in the US. Other than that, you will need to do a search to see if there are any custom ROM's that utilises the locked AT&T bootloader. Alternatively, just carry on using it as it is

No experience with AT&T but if they release their firmware online then you should be able to download & flash latest using ODIN.

i dont think its possible, India phone comes with 2 physical sim slots or an esim option for the second sim where as the AT&T which you and I have, comes only with single physical sim.

Hi Chirag,
were you able to update your phone? I have the same model(SM-F936U/DS) and stuck with an old update and no new updates show up even though Andriod 13 has been rolled out for the Indian variants.
if there is no possibility of updating the phone then I might consider selling it! any help woud be appreciated.

There is no way I could find online to get the updates. Nothing works. The only way is to have US sim and be connected to AT&T network in US to get the update which is impossible. So I guess we are stuck with the old os version.

Hi Chirag,
Thanks for the revert. Thats a bummer that we can't do anything with the update. I can still make my peace with the slow updates but having no updates especially the security updates is very concerning.
I will keep you posted in case I happen to come across any solution to this.

may I ask how you able to unlock it? Who did you go to?

I would say just start going through the different csc that's how I got mine to show the new up date then I just went back to gfc

Hi, Do you mind listing out the csc version that you used? Also any tips on how to flash it would be appreciated . The lack of software update is really driving me nuts man.

Hi Chirag,
I can confirm the method mentioned shorty9210 indeed works! I just changed the CSC to T-Mob and the updates have started flowing. Just use the samFw.com tool to change the CSC, you will get T-MOB logo once you have changed the CSC but the updates will come by. It didnt delete the data too. Couldnt be any happier!

you are a life saver sir! Thanks so much! I changed the csc to T-Mob and the updates are flowing! A quick question though do we need to change back and forth to GFC everytime theres an update? For now mine is at T-MOB.
