I can't remember the exact path in 4.4.2 TW ROM since I'm running aosp ROM at the moment but this has something to do with settings in accessibility search for this solution in phantom thread or dn3 thread. If you disable that then you'll be able to select another language for keyboard and swiping the space bar will switch it.

Well I'm not sure why Samsung does this, however it drives me nuts. So here is the phone.apk without the increasing ringtone stuff.
Flash in recovery.
You must delete the "SecPhone.odex" in /system/app after installing. Until I can make a time to have the zip do it. Thanks
Enjoy!
I was looking for a way to disable this.. thanks!
Thanks man.. awesome mod...needed this
I flashed from recovery, rebooted and it said updating apps, starting apps, had my wife call but it still does that lame ascending ringtone. I tried rebooting and now every time it reboots it says updating apps, starting apps.. sucks lol takes a little longer to start up now. Any way to fix? I also found the file you talked about deleting but it said it was read only.

Wow I was waiting for this mod!!! Sham on you Sammy for making this wonderful Dev make it right. I for sure didnt forget to hit the thanks button on this one!
Worked like a charm. Had to delete the odex file, then the mod took. A cache/dalvik wipe took care of the "upgrading apps" screen. My ringtones start loud and stay that way. Many thanks!

Are you running a custom ROM? If so, you're probably already deodexed.
OK. I got ya. I still get the "updating apparently" on restart. I have cleared caches.

Not sure I can be of much more help if you're on a deodexed ROM already. I've stuck with rooted/de-bloated stock for the time being. Wiping the caches solved it for me, aside from the first boot after the cache wipe, of course, but I'm still fully odexed aside from that one file I deleted.
It worked for me this time, thinfs different from the first try, im now on the lite de-bloated stock rom and modded kernel

So it looks like I need to modify the zip install to remove the .odex file.
Makes sense since de-odexing turns the .odex into a classes file inside the apk, which is then edited. I'll edit the zip today to remove to .odex file.

Did this ever get done, sir?
antiochasylum said:
Flash in recovery. Even if you aren't de-odexed this should still work. In the zip I did not have it delete the .odex extension in /system/app. So after you flash this feel free to delete the SecPhone.odex, or leave it, your choice.

I installed and it did not work. I then used Root Explorer to delete /system/app/SecPhone.odex, cleared caches, rebooted and it works fine.
Thanks for the utility it was greatly needed.

I fully agree with you, this volume increase doesn't make any sense however, is there a way to revert back to the previous state should something go awry? Thanks.
So,
I flashed the new camera that was released for android 4.3 on my S3.. it worked fine, so I used titanium backup to uninstall the other camera on my CM10.1.2 rom. Anyways, now I notice that I get alot of "cannot connect to camera" errors when I try to launch the app, and sometimes when it does launch, when I take a picture, it freezes and I have to force close the app...
Anyways, since I uninstalled the original camera app I had before, what are my options now?
You probably have to reflash (clean not dirty) the ROM since you messed with a system app. Did you make a back up though?

Always make a back up. It will save you from tight situations.

Just use root explorer and go into the zip file of the rom and find the camera apk. Delete the current camera apk then copy it and paste it into your system/apps. Click the apk and install it.

If you d/l one of the 4.2/4.3 roms (AOSP or Sense) it will do the SD0 "file thing" If you want to find the original files you will need ROOT EXPLORER or other root browser and go to the ROOT directory then DATA>MEDIA. You should see all your familiar 4.1.2 files. If you go to DATA>MEDIA>0 that will be the "new" 4.2/4.3 directory. You can copy and paste files back and forth between the two directories or you can simply move them w/o copying.
If you get tired of 4.2/4.3 and want to go back to stock 4.1.2 here is what to do:
go to recovery and do a full wipe (DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL)
RESTORE your backup of 4.1.2 (or flash your 4.1.2 rom)
before booting into 4.1.2 (still in same recovery session) flash the FILE FIX
Hope that at least partially answered your question.

Guys does any one know why I constantly have problem to install nova launcher
Try to restart your phone
From a post I found using the power of Google Search....
error -24
unkown still now but its coming on kitkat due to art problems
solution:
- Using a root file manager, go to /data/data
- Find the package name of the app you're wanting to install (Don't know the package name? Find the app you're wanting to install on the Play Store online and it's in the URL)
- Delete that folder. All of it.
- Try to install your app again, it should work now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733038
So I'm thinking you need to turn off ART and go back to DALVIK
log out of all google account and try to log in again. i think u restored account data using TB, didn't you?

The you dont have root, or your file manager doesnt support root properly, or you dont have root enabled in your file explorer.

Awesome. Glad it works again for you. I have Nova and I won't change it for any other Launcher I even have the knock off function working too.
Good to hear. When I had my G2 I ran into an issue where I lost all my all data too, sucks restoring the phone.
I hv enabled ART on day one, first applied a factory reset though, then installed Nova and my favourite apps without issues. Everything is working fine, no lags, no overheating or whatever.

I remmber seeing Samsung Camera.apk separately on some thread for the phone. You can try searching.. If not unzip and take off the Samsung camera from the Stock and install and make it a system app, Considering some additional files required to make it usable..
