If you have root, you can use link2sd. You will need to create a separate fat32 partition on your sdcard first.

How do I partition SD card on HTC Desire running stock 2.2?

Hi,
I got a HTC Desire and installed the stock 2.2 firmware on it. I want to partition the sd card so that I can install the apps on the sd card instead of the phone memory.
Is there any way of doing this on the stock 2.2 or do I need to install a custom rom?
Thanks
You can partition the memory card if you like, but a stock ROM won't use it. Must be a customer ROM
I dont understand your question so giving double answers, whichever suits you.
if you just want to be on stock 2.2 and dont want to root and custom rom, android natively support few apps to SD card, You can use app2sd app free from android market and transfer to SD card or in setting go to each application and check which apps have option to move to SD.
That method have limitation of which app and space also not enough. Now by partitioning SD card and create ext partition you 1st need to root and partition and choose ROM (eg leedroid) which supports ext partition which give more space for more apps.
You can partion your card with rom manager, even if it's not useful in your case.

[Q] Important Questions..Could you reply?

1-is there anyway to install app/games in External SD CARD.or move app/games to EXTERNAL sd CARD (DONT say app2sd or link2sd )ITS prohibited by samsung to install app/games or move them t0 sd card
2-is there any update stock firmware or CM10(cynogenmod 10) allows you to install or moves app/games to external sd card?(as i heard CM rom allow it?
3-is there anyway to stop system to automatic read your Sdcard or external sd card for PICS,MUSIC and Videos?can i give path to system to read only my allowed folders of pics, music and videos?
thanx
much appreciated
1) Not quite. Not yet. However, it may be possible to make the system treat the external SD card as internal memory. See the thread [MOD][ICS/JB/CM10]ExtSd2InternalSd v3.1|Increase your data storage|100% Working| and decide if you want to try that solution.
2) Don't know about CM. Not yet (that I know of) with stock fw.
3) Place a file named ".nomedia" in the directories you want to exclude.

If you are OK with rooting your device, you can use Link2SD and Foldermount to use your External SD card. you just need to flash Init.d support mod after rooting. then install Link2SD and/or Foldermount

Yeah I'm using FolderMount but I want every app's downloaded files be in EXT_sd.
Everytime I organize my files, it's too bothersome.
the new Link2SDplus does it all
How can you guys get it working? Mine says that there is mo partition on the sd card or insufficient storage even though I still have 10+gb on the sd card and 2+gb on the phone and doesnt move it

Link2SD needs a specific EXT formatted partition on your external SD in order to work. follow a Link2SD installation guide..

Best ROM for Apps2 SD unencrypted

I use CM12.1 LP, AICP 2015-12-25. on my i9195 S4 mini LTE.
I like it, but i unable to move apps, to SDcard.
It says there is not enough memory.
I have 500MB in internal, and 11GB on SD card.
Which ROM do you suggest, if i want to move apps, to SD card?
I do not want CM13, MM, because i heard it must encrypt the SD card.
I want my SD card unencrypted, for saves.

I've not done it myself but I believe you can move apps to External SD on any ROM with Link2SD (or similar app) & you can partition external SD so you can still read one partition on PC & apps on the other partition.

Do you use Link2SD?
I have a 64GB microSD card, and i do not know, how i have to make partitons.
If i move the apps (and games) to SD card, can i update it? And it is working?

I use it but I have not yet used it to move apps to SD or partition SD, I'm not yet desperate for more space. See the link2sd website & search for link2sd tutorial for more info as it looks to be quite a lot of work.

Change Android storage mount point

NOTE: This is pointless now.
Hi,
Do anyone know how to change the Android storage mount point manually without Link2SD or partitioning the SD card as EXT? I have a 16GB SD card and right now I need to install my apps on it. My phone is running the 15.4.A.1.9 (4.3) release.
Thanks for advance.

If you mean you want it to use your sdcard instead of internal storage, just go to a terminal and run "mount -o bind /storage/sdcard1 /mnt/sdcard"
Note: You will need to run the command as root, then you can use Android's native app2sd to store apps on your sdcard
Any other way?
I tried the mount method, but everytime it says "device or resource busy" or whatever.
I heard that some modders in my country recompiled the Android framework in order to keep the SD card intact, while the internal storage becomes SD card. Can someone tell me how to decompile the framework, modify it and recompile it?
btw, nevermind, this post is pointless
