Question 1: I don't know what all would be involved with this, but I was thinking about trying to write a small app that would create another form of input for the PPC that would basically setup a connection to a computer (laptop) via Bluetooth and then let you type on the computer for the PPC input. So my question is first, is this possible and second what all would be required?
Question 2: Somewhat in parallel with the first question. Would there be a way to create a cursor type thingie that was only visible/active when a program or input type was running/selected?
I am open to any thoughts, suggestions, code, and or criticisms. The thought behind this app is that although it isn't that often, but I occasionally have to put in a decent amount of text into some programs, so if I could type on my laptop (no need for PPC keyboard thing), then that would save some time. Reasoning behind the Bluetooth is that I am going to get the XDA II and my laptop has BT.
Thanks, and really like the site...

Hey guys in my searches i have found this little app. Theres an unlimited free trial available. it let's you connect any bluetooth mouse to your wm device. great app and would love to use a mouse in conjuction with my igo keyboard. I have tried pairing the mouse however it does not complete pairing and the mouse continues to sit in pairing mode. I have tried three seperate mice (logitech, targus and microsoft) If anyone is willing to give it a go and let me know how they go would be great.
Hopefully it will work for you.

I used a Logitech V70 following the instructions on the site and it worked as advertised. I've also paired it with my Logitech diNovo Mini although not at the same time.
edit: Actually I installed the cab, turned on the radio, initiated a device search, then I turned on the V70 and pressed the connect button on the bottom. No password was required, I just clicked Next as soon as the mouse was recognized. I think this is a little bit different than the order specified on the website.
i'm encountering two main problems.
1) the Teksoft software is not recognising the bluetooth is on. I'm using the radio rom that comes with dutty's v1.7.
2) after I pair the mouse (with a blank password) it remains in discovery mode.
Just a bit of extra information i'm using the ig keyboard and have the igo software installed not sure if that could be causing problems. Also having read other forums the mouse i was trying to use was the microsoft 5000 and one of the guys had this working perfectly which leads me to believe its my phone.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Bluetooth stack on HTC HD2
Hi All,
I just got th HTC HD2 and I also run into difficulties connecting a bluetooth mouse. Looks like the problem lies in the Bluetooth stack.
I'm using a iGo/Thinkoutside stowaway bluetooth mouse and keyboard. The software (latest version from 2007) does not recognise that Bluetooth is on.
The keyboard is recognised as a standard HID device and works without any additional software.
I tried the Teksoftco Blueinput software and got the same problem that the software does not recognise that Bluetooth is on. Probably it only works with the MS bluetooth stack and not the one on HTC HD2 (TP2, HD, ...?).
I can connect to a bluetooth mouse but the HD2 can't find any services to use.
Anyway, If anybode has a solution please post but my hopes are verly low... :-(
Maybe a wired mouse via USB host on the car cradle will work...

Did you have any luck registering, I'm running into the same thing?
No drivers on the cd.
The software doesn't work on my Touch HD
I tried the V 1.5RC4 but it always displays: "The BlueInput driver is not responding. You need to reinstall this software."
Is it possibly, that I have a altered bluetooth stack with my ROM (Energy)?
Would appreciate any help to get this to work!

I had exactly the same problem in my Touch HD with Energy ROM and found the solution. Our problem is because the bluetooth HID libraries are missing in the Energy ROM. Thus, first, you need to restore them by using TRV_Bth_HID.cab attached. Restart. Then, you need to pair your mouse and to ensure, that the service "input device" has appeared and marked in the bluetooth manager. Restart with the turned on bluetooth and the mouse connected. Only after these steps, you can install V1.5RC4. Note, that V1.5RC4 overwrites the library \Windows\bthhid.dll, which was in TRV_Bth_HID.cab. As a result, after V1.5RC4 installation, your mouse will be seen as "disconnected" in the bluetooth manager - this is normal. But, if you need to install new device, you will have to repeat all steps above.

Hi all,
I am currently looking in the NFC functionality recently added in Android. I am not yet familiar with Android development and I would like to have your advises on what I am planning to do.
My goal would be the following: Performing an automatic bluetooth pairing between a Nexus S and a linux computer by means of NFC. To the linux machine is connected a NFC breakout board (from microbuilder). Once the bluetooth pairing is done, I would like to launch automatically an application on the mobile phone, which will then be used to interact between the mobile phone and the linux computer.
I have read in several websites that this should be possible, but I would like to know is someone already tried something like that, or if an experienced Android developer think that this would be possible to do.
Thank you in advance !
Kind regards,
Guillaume
Hi guys, I hope you can help.
I recently brought and installed A Pumpkin 10.1 unit (rk3188).
Ive managed to get Malaysk's custom rom installed but my issue is that i dont have steering wheel controls so i brought a satechi media button. (Because im a new user i cant post a link)
The thing is i can get the unit to find it but it will not connect to it. Could it be a bluetooth name limitation on the unit? is there a work around?
Thank you for your time guys.
Kris
I'm having the same issue... I think its temporal issue, I will update to 23 april rom...
Cool. Let me know how you get on.
The only BT devices that are supported are OBDII readers and Phones (for phonebook sharing, calls and media streaming). No other devices will work (media controllers, gamepads, etc).
That's a shame. I need to look at another work around. Thank you for the info
Is there any way around to connect to non OBDII devices via rooting and using xposed framework
I'm looking for a way for this to happen as well. Just purchased an iSimple remote for my Joying head unit. Lo-and-behold it doesn't work because... reasons? How hard is it for the programmers to allow a remote device use media controls while any other android unit will allow this?
My fingers are big.///
So I can not use a soft QWERTY keyboard in SmartWatch..
I bought an full Android (os 5.1) smart watch.and a Bluetooth external keyboard.
However, the Bluetooth device can not be found in the settings of SmartWatch.
Is there a way to find a Bluetooth device?
1. Can you find it by routing and modifying the system?
2. What smart watches are available with a Bluetooth keyboard?
3. Is there an app that can pair a Bluetooth keyboard?
If you have a way, please let me know.
thanks js..
