Yes, I'll explain ...
sony source code was released even before a rom be built
I have not compared the 230 with code 233, but there are some comments that are equal (kernel)
this is why we have a kernel before the rom
However you can use the 233 kernel in your rom 230 with no problem

no, im used this at froyo 2.2.2 v10a ... once i have a CM, some old version, i dont like it .. i kno, im the only one ... i wait for a NIghtly with this .35 kernel
- back the topic: OC 806MHz stable, antutu benchmark passed etc - i will test higher later
- wifi works perfectly, and i supose wifi responds a little quicker then on oryginal kernel
- rest i see is working with no bugs
- OC with antutu CPU Master
- battery life with no bigger drain
thx ron
Ok ron good work, the phone is a little better but on games it lags is the kernel or the rom stock v10e?
This is a bit off-topic but kinda relevant. Here's the deal, somewhere I read that V10I is not rootable, so just to confirm, up to which version of stock rom is rootable? V10G? Wanna go back to stock rom, root, load kernel (making it relevant)...
So I just went ahead and played safe... Flashed V10G, rooted it and installed the kernel... All I can say is thanks! Blazing fast even the first day it wasn't overclocked... Dont run benchmark tests, I dont trust them, but compare experiences, and by far this is the best!
I'm testing this kernel with Froyo 2.2.2. Do you planning to release kernel v3? Battery life is still bad.
Thanks.

Same to me but battery is drying at night while I sleep.
12% was consumed in 8 hours of sleeping.
Maybe Dev of kernel can add more Governors, like ondemandX, interactiveX.
Edit : I changed governor to conservative and now it's a bit better.

[Q] HOX ICS Kernel

New owner of a HOX here.
I see that the kernel version of my stock ROM, and of all the custom ones, is 2.6.x.x.
Isn't the new ICS Kernel 3.x.x? What gives? Seems like it's running on the GB Kernel...
there is no 3x kernel for hox yet! all kernels ar second version kernels
And why is that? I mean, the HOX's bootloader is unlockable so can't someone just port it? From the CM9 ROM for example?

[Q] What's better for CyanogenMod roms? MG2 and its 482 MB of RAM or 624?

Hi everybody.
I readed a lot about the memory repartition for different roms.
Some 4.1 stock custom roms recommend repartition to 624 MB, and another custom roms remcommend stay it with 482 MB of RAM.
But, my question is: What is better for CyanogenMod roms, stay with 482 MB or memory repartition to 624?
Excuse me if this question is answered in the forum, I don't find it.
Regards.
624. Where did you find 482 recommended
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
I used CM with both 550MB and 624MB RAM; didn't notice any difference in performance.
So i also suggest you give it a try with 624.

In a rom thread about a MC8 stock custom rom (I can't remember it). An user said that 482 MB was recomendable for MC8 but 624 MB for MF1/MG2.
Thank you both.
Hi there,
I used the stock GB with 550Mo and it was the minimum acceptable, then i ran the update to stock JB MF1 and I got 482 which was absolutely terrible ! Every time I used 2 apps at a time, when I wanted to go back on the homescreen, the launcher was off and I had to wait for it to restart.
now I'm running cm10.2 (4 janv. 2014 version) and I finally got 624Mo which is perfect !!
Rox said in a reply that the best option is 4.1 MG2 for its ROM.
I am since some weeks with it and with 624 MB RAM repartition. It's O.K. :good:
I flashed CM10.2 over MF1 stock ROM which had 482Mo and now I've got 624Mo.
The amount of RAM in CM10.2 doesn't seem to be linked with the amount you got on the ROM you had just before flashing.
I think Rox recommended to flash over the MG2 version cause it's the last one released by Samsung.

Yeah, less is very allegedly better for MC8, but CM isn't built over stock

[Q] KitKat Kernel for PAC ROM 4.4

Hi, today I updated PAC ROM 4.3 from faust93 but then after error 7 on update process I realized it was upgraded to 4.4 then I installed TWRP 2.6 and it worked nice altough its alfa and lost functions.
The mainly problem is that the old kernel from faust93 doesnt work (original kernel has terrible governors expending a lot of battery) and I can see that on http://xep.8800.org/e957/ there is a lot of different versions from his kernel, does someone know if one of them is compatible with PAC ROM 4.4 ?
I would send it on the Pac Rom thread but xda restrictions don't let me do it and developer did not warn about upgrade to 4.4 so I dont know if he would answer
Thanks
