[Q] nusense six 7.1 camera no portrait m7vzw - Verizon HTC One (M7)

As noted.
I can't post ditectly to the Dev thread, so this is the place to start.
Using the 7.1 Nusense six with the upgraded firmware. My camera works in landscape but doesn't in portrait. Hopefully this post gets noticed.
Thanks for any help.

What recovery and firmware are you using? I use TWRP 2.7.0.8 and on latest firmware (4.10.x.x) with no issues on nusense
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Free mobile app

Same twrp & firmware.
I turn the camera on in landscape, rotate it to portrait and the screen goes black.

Sounds like you aren't really on the latest firmware.
I'd reflash the latest firmware again.

I reflashed 4.10.605.3 a second time, wiped cache & delvik with no changes, the problem still occurs. The camera doesn't work in portrait.
Thanks for the help.

Does your screen rotate in other apps?
Like in Messaging, if you turn the device, does the screen rotate?
There is a lib responsible for this, but you seem to be the only one with the issue on that rom, so I see no need to post an older lib for just one device.
Trying to figure out if you are having hardware issues or what.

Everything else seems fine.
Phone, gallery, messaging seem to be fine. Just the camera is being sketchy. The screen rotates to portrait then goes black, bring it back to landscape and it comes back.

To comment further regarding the cameras ability to go either way. I wiped the nusense six 7.1 and recovered GPE Plus 4.4.4 and the camera is functioning as it should. The camera seems to be fine in GPE Plus 4.4.4 but not nusense six 7.1.
Thanks again, I sent something to your coffee fund.

Did you dirty flash from the previous nusense to 7.1? If you did then that could possibly be the problem.

No, I flashed a full wipe.

Just a quick comment, with the newest version 7.4 I'm having the identical problem.
The 7.1 version has been so dependable with solid battery life this issue wasn't a ROM breaker for me. I was kind of hoping it would come around with this update.

Using Google Camera works right. Its the HTC camera that doesn't.

Maybe you have a hardware issue or something because the camera works perfectly in every mode no matter what position I hold the phone in.

How can I check for a hardware issue?

Screen rotation problem

hi, after installing a JB rom like AOKP or CM10, it kills my screen rotation, this has happened to me a few times... the first time I managed to fix it by using the RUU, then I reflashed AOKP and as soon as i did that it killed my screen rotation again, so I tried to reflash the RUU but it did not work this time. Any ideas why this is happening, or how to fix it.. This has happened to me a couple of times, i managed to fix it sometimes by relocking/unlocking a second time.. But now nothing works. I need some help, because I do not think my phones Auto-Rotation is broken, since this happens after installing ROM's..

Do you have your "Rotation Modes" ticked?
Go to settings > Display > Rotation.
Enable it and then in the modes, select
0, 90 and 270 degrees which is default.
Additionally tick 180 if you want the phone to rotate upside down as well.
This worked for me sometime ago. If it doesn't work I don't know then.

I have been having the exact problem. I just flashed paranoid android 2.53 and flashed latest twrp recovery. My sensors are back. Maybe try that? I still can't tell if this problem is h/w or s/w

screen doesn't rotate at all. but in camera mode it works.
Rotation doesn't work at all on my tab 3 GT-P5210 10.1
running 4.2.2 everything is checked in the settings. smart screen, etc. soft reset and hard reset doesn't do anything. but in camera mode, all works and rotates properly.
Samsung support didn't have a fix. is there a patch or something ?
All of the hardware has been replaced. All of it. Only thing is left was the lcd and digitizer is the same.

This is not the Samsung forum, and where do you guys find these posts....being almost 2 years old :sly:
Samsung tab 3 gt-p5210 no rotating screen
Well I don't have all the time in the world to look up an exact thread or exact are to post this. You found it so I must be getting warmer...
I looked for as long time and couldn't find any post that was exactly for my MODEL. But yes this is the Samsung forum because I chose it from the list.
So I just need a little help in the right direction that is all I don't need for someone to tell me this is the wrong post. I am a techie so I know what I am doing. Just leaning the android ways. I like the hardware side mostly.
THANKS.

I found it because it gets back on top. It's better to open a thread in the specific device forum and get actual help that is based on this period of time.

Anyone use the camera mod?

I just rooted and s-offed my brand new m8. I have seen stuff from the International m8 forum and on the Verizon forum about Jishnu's camera mod, and it looks interesting.
Has anyone flashed it on their T-Mobile device? Any reports back would help
Thanks!

I've had it flashed for nearly two months. It works exactly as advertised on my M8 running the ARHD rom. I doubt there would be any issue running it on a stock rom as well.

Flashed it on top of skydragon and everything seemed to go fine. The only problem is when I go to pano 360 I don't have a capture button. There's this Grey rectangle on the screen as well. I tried to take a screen shot but it didn't work. Do you have this problem?

What you are seeing is intentional, that's how the panoramic camera works. It wants you to line up the center of the shot on that rectangle and then you'll see the rectangle start to fill up red. Then you move onto the next shot and it auto captures for you.

Haha, I didn't actually know this until I opened up the pan360 camera to see if I got the same error. I was just moving my phone around when it seemed to 'lock on' and the rectangle started turning red. So I learned something new today too.
I flashed it on my stock Rooted T-Mobile M8, but the camera crashes. Restored a backup, and now my camera is working again but I couldn't test out the camera mod. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?
I was incorrect in my first statement, the modded camera will not work on stock. It has to be used on a deodexed custom rom. I tried to use it on Fenny's deodexed/prerooted ROM in this forum but it wouldn't work. I guess it was too close to stock. Asked in the camera mod's thread why it wouldn't work on a deodexed stock rom but received no feedback.

[Q] CyanogenMod for N3

As you know Cyanogen has released official CM12 nightly builds for Oppo N3 - http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=n3
Anyone tried it? What is working and what is not? Are the developers visit here? What to expect from future releases?

I have it on my N3. Fingerprint reader is the only thing that doesn't work. Haven't tried the O-click 2.0, but it is represented in the settings menu.
Which nightly are you using? 20120320 just boots to a black screen with only the statusbar visible and unresponsive, for me.
e: 20 and 19 have this bug. 20120318 seems to work so far, by which I mean I can actually start the initial setup process.
e2: Stock camera app seems buggy. First few times it wouldn't start, then it started working, but the second time you launch it it breaks the camera for all apps. Installing a third party camera app seems to fix it.
The way CM implements the rotating camera is nice though. It pretends the phone has two cameras, and when an app asks for the front camera (e.g. Skype) it'll rotate it for you and flip the image. Only downside is that manual rotation doesn't flip the image once you pass the half way mark.

I just flashed the March 23rd build. So far I've only had a few hours with it but it's running really smooth. Here's a few notes:
I was running a rooted chinese coloros rom and cm12 has fixed the issue with not being able to pick up 5Ghz wifi.
No issue with the defaul camera app or any others
The fingerprint sensor is still broken as well as the button
My proximity sensor is broken. I downloaded a toolbox and it's not detecting the promixity sesnor at all. I've read you can fix this by flashing the modem but I can;t seem to find them. I saw some posts about the 1+1 having the same issues with recent cm12 nightlies so I'll keep flashing nightlies until I go home for the weekend and I'll try to find the Chinese N5207 modem with the help of my fleunt in Chinese parents.

I'm installing it now, just waiting for it to boot, though it seems to be taking forever, and I can't connect to adb for logcat.
Does it take > 30mins or so at first boot? Did you use CWM or TWRP recovery? Anything else that needed doing to get it to work?
TIA

So the 20150327 doesn't work for me at all. The 20150323 does, with the minor issues mentioned above.
Does anyone else see the VOOC charging not work? Any clues as to how to enable it?

Actually, I lied, the VOOC charging did work, but wierdly sometimes the light on the charger didn't come on (it still charged quickly).
I've just installed (without wipe) the 20150403 and that works a treat. Only visible change is that screen elements with not standard res'n are now centred rather than bottom-middle aligned.
Loving the CM12 ROM - even battery life isn't much reduced and Lollipop is a great upgrade.

why
why I can't Install to my oppo N3 R831K ?

So I had lots of suspends of death with recent cm12.1 nightlies, but it seems to have calmed down a bit now. Still takes a while for screen to come on after sleep though and reboots on resume maybe twice / three times a day - only when on battery.
No fingerprint support yet - doubt that'll be there until Android M as there's no native Android support for fingerprint sensors in L - Samsung devices have had the Samsung reader backported, so they're golden, but I don't think the OPO / Oppo will get this attention.
The other big gotcha is video - nothing working unless you can get the Oppo ColorOS camera working (I've not tried). Stills are fine though.
I've tried again to get the Oppo camera working, using some of the newer ports to the OPO.
Still no joy
xposed, gravitybox and nova launcher is making ColorOS pretty tolerable though.

Annoying screen rotation on OnePlus 5T

Hello everyone
I don't always post on XDA i am kinda lurker. Forgive me if i make mistakes. I have oneplus 5t and there is this annoying screen rotation bug that keeps auto rotating though i locked it to portrate, it is not in all apps but some like chrome, gallery, mx player, vidmate, drive and some others. At first i thought it was my phone, restored it to factory defaults and clean installed with OOS 5.1.0 but nothing has changed then i checked my friend's oneplus 5t and it is the same. I think this is a universal oneplus 5t problem. Is there any way to fix this or a 3rd party app that can control screen rotation?

I dont know about the other apps, but mx follows its own rules when it comes to rotation, you should choose the rotation rules in mx settings, to only rotate with system rotation.

I was having the same issue with 5.1.0, I thought I was going mad. I had turned off auto-rotate and phone would be locked and still always turn on in landscape mode. The problem seems to be gone in the latest 5.1.1. update though. I'm assuming your on stock, because that's the only build that was giving me the problem.

Hi I have the same problem. The problem "appeared" when i updated to a crdroid version with the treble update and the new vendor partiton, i was already on a non-stock rom. I also tried to install stock rom but the problem persist. I attach some screenshot of the accelerometer value and based on what I found on internet it seems that the axis X and Y are inverted

[MAGISK] OnePlus Camera for ROMs without it

This is my first time making a module, so it's probably held together with tape compared to other modules made by competent people.
A simple module, just installs OPCam and needed dependencies. I've only tested this on the Derp A12 ROM, and it works fine.
Macro mode doesn't show up, I've no idea why, if you do, let me know and I'll update it.

XTENDED XR-vX.r team as I pretty much just looked through their ROM to see what files they used to get OPCam working.
The app seems to crash when I open the video function, and only when using the normal camera.
It works fine with the selfie camera but the second I switch the app disappears.
Using latest derp. Any advice?

Good luck.
I switched back to oxygen because I was missing some features derp didn't offer, but since you've got the same issue you should be able to test it yourself.
Thanks,
But is it possible to make a zip that is flashable from recovery instead?
Thanks a lot, this is working well. Portrait mode works great as well. I prefer GP over the OOS Gallery app so I disabled it, but everything works great, just had one question. Is this version latest for the 7tpro?
