If it is closer to the V500 than the V510 then probably not, however I am not aware of anyone who has tried to do a conversion of this sort. The first thing you would probably need is a way to unlock the bootloader. Last I knew the V810 does not have an unlocked bootloader.

doesn't matter because we have a bootloader exploit
the partitions on the GPE are different, think it needs some work to be ported over, and you probably won't get LTE access
heck, my vk810 cm11 build still doesn't have LTE access yet... haven't made any useful findings

I don't care about LTE I just want stock kitKat

did you try my cm11 build then?
I probably can build AOSP kitkat for vk810 (with the same broken LTE/GPS)... let me know

I will give it a try !!

Quite a bit of work was done early this year to try to port the V510 ROM to V500. While the result was reasonably stable, it was unuseable because the developers could not get WiFi to work. Hardware & drivers were sufficiently different between the two devices to be problematic. You can find old threads in Android Development and in the General section.
I'm not trying to tell you guys this won't work. Just letting you know about some previous work.

Would it be easier to port a v510 rom to the Verizon GPad? I just want KK. I don't care about having aosp and I don't need LTE. I'm just using Wi-Fi.

The V510 has no custom ROMs available, only the stock GPE ROM. Which is pure AOSP. So I'm not sure that I understand what you are asking

Oh. I didn't know there were no custom roms for it.

Verizon GPE 4.3

So, I'm about to send off my aluminum baby and be phone-less for a few days (booooo) to Sonic so he can java magic my phone (yaaaaaay!) and I see there are several ROMs based off CM at the moment. I'm curious if anyone is going to try to port the official GPE rom over to VZW? I want to basically turn my phone into GPE. I haven't seen anything from VZW about the official GPE version of the One yet. I know the Moto X has a GPE version but the only GPE I see on the google play site is GSM based. I thought I remembered reading VZW was getting the GPE version but haven't see anything about it since. If we're not going to get the official version I will most likely run andy's rom he posted. Has anyone heard any updates on the VZW GPE?

Yeah I saw that. You're right, it's 4.2. Thanks for the response. I'll just use newt most likely when I get the phone back or just use CM. I didn't know if anyone saw anything about Verizon actually releasing a GPE version of the One or not. Was hoping they would so we could have the straight stock optimized for the device.

On previous versions of Sense, you simply delete or rename HTCLockScreen.apk to HTCLockScreen.bak and reboot.
I'm assuming the same still applies.

[Q] One M8 GPE Stock Rom

I need to find a stock rom for the Google Play Edition version of the M8, but after searching for several hours, I found nothing. Currently, I'm running a buggy version of CyanogenMod 11. Nearly every post I find on Google or xda pertains to the Sense One M8, does anyone know where to find a rom or how to restore back to stock GPE?
Any help would be appreciated!
Lol is there such a thing as a stable CM rom?

Yeah, I've learned my lesson, don't do CM unless I'm out of manufacture updates lol.
So I do see the RUU file linked above, but is it possible to just flash a normal GPE rom in TWRP? I haven't s-off(ed) the phone and it'd be great if I could just reflash, just like most roms.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot! I really should have added this to the original post, but I'm hoping to get stock with a TWRP flash (which may not easily possible from the looks of it) so I can upgrade when Google blesses us with the Lollipop OTA update.

I could try it this weekend. I'm just a bit reluctant because it seems like such an easy thing to get, yet there aren't any real GPE stock roms as far as I can see. Also I'm not too enthusiastic about paying for s-off. I know from testing a few months ago that firewater doesn't work on my device which just leaves Sunshine s-off for $25

I suppose so. Coming from the GS3 it seems pretty silly that there's no return from flashing a rom lol.
I'll hold out for doing the s-off + RUU and use another rom like sinless until we see if Lollipop gets sent out as a flashable update or full install zip (or, of course, if someone comes across a flashable stock image in the mean time). Thanks everyone for the help so far!
For anyone with the same problem, I've found the original One M8 images! GPE stock rom image can be found here: http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
Make sure to choose the One M8 Google Play Edition under the devices dropdown, then you'll find the stock images below.

You probably won't find one that is still in development but Cloudy is quite popular stock KK based ROM, which also has a LL version for certain variants.

That I'm not 100% about. I use stock so haven't fiddled with it yet. But my guess would be no. That being said, you can easily try it. If it doesn't work (loops, bugs, etc), you can always restore your backup (which I do assume you'll do before flashing )

Nope. There are some ports here and there but nothing like the original.

Are there any ROMs yet that aren't Sense based?

I've looked through the Development forums and haven't found anything. I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.
There are a couple that "de-sense" the rom as aroma option.
But no true AOSP yet as I can see.
I haven't installed a ROM using Aroma before. That is pretty cool. I installed Venom de-sensed. I like it better than stock for sure, but the one thing I'm really looking for is a ROM with a stock Lollipop dialer/phone setup.
Any ideas?
Edit: I see the Redbulled ROM mentions the GPE dialer, but will it work on a Verizon phone?

Cool. I hadn't seen that yet. I'll give it a try. I was able to install the dialer by extracting it from my M7 running GPE, but as soon as I start the call it reverts back to the Sense phone app. I'll see if that works any better.

How Do You Install AOSP On VZW HTC 10?

Hey guys, I saw a thread a while back and I can't find it now but it was a method to get AOSP onto the VZW HTC 10. It involved adding some files into the radio or firmware or something along those lines. If anyone could point me to that thread or a tutorial on getting AOSP on my VZW 10 that would be awesome. Thanks!

S-off is needed if have a Verizon 10, it's the only way of flashing anything on it as Verizon disables bootloader unlocking by default on their devices.
But even sprint says have to be soff and do a firmware with no radio then u can use aosp I'm on sprint I just say that every aosp for spr and vzw need soff

This was fixed just a few days ago, see post #5 above. @tabp0le found a solution for the firmware problem affecting Sprint/Verizon users. S-off/modified firmware is no longer required. All ROMs built after April 28 should boot for all users thanks to https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/170030/
