Hi. For some reason when I transfer music to my Sansisk 64 GB Memory stick a day later it deletes all my music. I'm not sure why. I've flashed my Avatar ROM several times in TWRP but it does nothing. Please help me.

You've really got to start putting a brief description of your problem in the title as you have been told multiple times... i.e. [Q] Lost music files from my SDCard.
Okay, try plugging your phone into a computer or take your sdcard out and plug it into a card reader and see if the music is there.
I tried it but I don't see my music.

Ok, so I have the stock SD card and lately it's been acting up. I went from Vaelpak to CM7RC2 and it took me a while to get the phone to actually recognize the card... Anytime I use a Sense ROM I never have problems with the card being read/recognized by the phone or my PC
So I'm back on RC2 and the phone reads the card just fine but the computer doesnt recognize it "kinda"..
When I plug the phone in via USB to the PC it usually pops up with a window with several options on how to view the contents of the SD card... No such window pops up and the SD card doesnt register in the Drive slot.. it just doesnt show up at all, like there's nothing in that Drive...
But, I can pull up Windows Media Player and look at some of the files on the SD card... So I'm confused, the computer can see some of the information but I can't read the whole thing...
I've tried USB debuggin on/off, mounting as disk drive and not, mounting/unmounting SD card, etc...
Any ideas? -- should I just get a new card or is there something else I can try?
You can copy the contents to the pc, then reformat it, then copy back...

Deleting the LOST_DIR folder has been known to solve the problem with CM7 and SD cards. Having said that, you need to be aware of the recent growing numbers of people boinking their EVOs. All of them were using CM7 and everything had been working as it should. All of a sudden, their device rebooted and have not been able to get into theory homescreen or into recovery. Read the posts the last few days and you will find many instances. I'm just alerting you to what has been happening. That's all so be careful.

I dont guess I explained myself very good... I can't copy anything to the PC if the PC wont recognize that there's a card there.. The PC just sits there and I've looked all over the place but the PC doesnt think there's anything put into the drive

I hadn't seen anything about the "boinking"... can you direct me to a thread? The CM7 RC2 thread or what?.. Not even knowing about those instances I was already thinkin about abandoning CM for now.. I've tried CM6 and several versions of CM7 but there's always something that just doesnt work right.. GPS, the SD card, facebook syncing, etc.. Looking at your Sig I'm thinkin I might try Warm again, it's been a while but I liked it alot... Thanks for the heads up

Yeah, that sucks... I was already about to give up on CM7 for now and that's just enough to push me back to Sense.. thanks
WOW! I'm glad I went back to Sense when I did.
Bricking my phone would end me!
Just recently started running into problems with my media storage clearing data on its own. One minute everythings fine the next all my music is missing and I have to reboot the phone to get it to rescan the sdcard to get my music back. Has done this on stock sense as well as CM 7.1 so its not a specific ROM issue. Its getting annoying as it happens at least once a day and the rescan takes a long time to complete as I have a ton of music. Starting to wonder if its my sdcard going bad? Its a Sandisk 32GB that I've had for over a year with no problems, have the exact same card in my tablet with no problems. I see there is a fix for teh same problem on emmc storage but not sure if this is the same thing happening here.

does it happen ever day at the same time? or is it random just once a day. if its a set time then i would say its an app. if its random then the card might be going bad.
i have a suggestion. place the card in a reader on a pc and copy everything off of it. do a full format now just a quick format. place everything back on the card and see if it helps.

No its random times. I thought about re-formatting the sdcard but I'm at work and don't have my usb cable with me. I will try that tonight.
I've had CM7.1 installed for about 2 months and was having other issues with it. When this started 2 days ago I decided to restore a Sense backup to see if it would fix it but the same thing started happening after about 6 hours.
Okay it just did it again. HTC Music Player says no music found and when I open the Gallery there are no pictures. Right now it shows only 268 KB of data so its been cleared. Thing is I can access the sdcard using ES File Explorer and can play music with any of the players, HTC, Mixing, ES File Explorer Player, through it.
Tonight I'm going to reformat the sdcard and do a factory reset on the phone. Maybe even just down load the RUU and start over. Something is definetly corrupted.
yeah it might mean your sd card is going out. i would try the format thing first. then maybe a full wipe of the phone and a fresh install of a rom.

I reformatted the sdcard 3 times and then did an extensive wipe of the phone and reinstalled wildstangs stock 4.08 ROM and over night the media storage deleteed its data again. I not totally sure its the sdcard thats the problem and I'm going to try the fix posted for the same problem for the emmc storage and see if that works.
Edit: after reading the emmc thread again there is no fix person who posted it said teh problem came back after 2 days.
I was trying out cm7 and lighntingdude's kernel when I noticed after a reboot all my music was gone. I've tried formatting it in cwm,but it doesn't read the mp3 files even after I try it a couple times. Root explorers on my phone won't read it either but my pc does fine. I'm going to try with another rom but does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
edit- wiped again seems to have taken and fixed it. Mod can remove this if they want to.
Hey Guys,
Earlier today I made a mistake. I'm on 4.2.1 Xylon. I accidentally flashed the wrong kernel (francos) onto my phone. I flashed one for 4.1.2.
After noticing my mistake, I had to use the toolkit to flash on the proper 4.2.1 kernel img as the phone would not turn on.
This worked and my phone turned on and looked ok.
However when I tried to access the gallery, play store, camera, they all didn't work. When I load the gallery, I get error messages saying 'No external storage available'. After seeing this, I went and plugged in my phone to the pc and had a look. The computer couldn't even read the internal memory.
After this I tried formatting the virtual SD card and pretty much reformatted the phone back to it's original state. When that was done, I loaded it up to check if it fixed the memory issues, but they were still there!
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on how this can be resolved? This is really annoying!
Thank you so much.
Kevin A.
Hello everyone,
I currently have a 10.5 stock rom rooted with some debloating not much taken out. I've been having a problem with my 64 GB SD card to the point where it is virtually unusable. When I save things to the SD card, some strange things begins to happen. After a while the files that were added would simply disappear almost as if they have never been there to begin with. (This includes folders that were made within the SD Card) Or they would work for a while and just simply stop working. When I add music (MP3 or which ever format) the sound would be speed up making it unpleasant to listen to. This happens if I add new files to the SD card from the tablet or directly to the SD card with a computer through a USB cable. I am wondering, has anyone else experienced these issues? Is it the card itself or simply the tablet? I have done some research and I have not found anyone else having this issue in this website or elsewhere. Can you please help me?
Thanks ahead of time!

I am surprised you have not found any related posts as there are many about the SD slot on the Tab S. My 10.5 has similar problems, I have a 32 Gig card that at times will just not be readable by the tablet. I keep all my music on there and at least once a week when I fire up my music player it says it can't play the file. For me a reboot of the tablet fixes it for a few days but it is still an annoying issue. I am hoping the Lollipop update will help fix some of these SD card slot issue. I tried formatting my card in the tablet and that did seem to help some but I still have intermittent problems with the SD slot on my Tab S 10.5. Oh and I tried the card in other tablets and my phone and it never has an issue so I don't think it is the card.

I have not experienced issues with the sound speeding up, and are you saying the files actually are no longer on the card even it you view the card on your PC? Are you always connected to the PC with the card in the tablet? I assume if you pull the card in read it on your PC not in the tablet that all your data is still there?

Yeah I'm surprised too maybe it's our tablets? To tell you the truth the files just the files would simply dissappear after a while. Almost as if it never existed to begin with. I have some files there sure, but not nearly what I want. What makes it even stranger if I move a file from the tab to the SD card it will stop working. If I move it back to the tab itself it still longer works. It's the strangest thing I've seen.
