Contacts widget keeps reseting photos to Facebook photos

Hi,
I recently started using the HTC contacts widget and already hit trouble.
I did a search for anything related to "contacts" and "widget" but I found no threads describing this problem.
- I have all my contacts stored as Google contacts (with photos). Some of my contacts have their facebook account linked to them.
- Photos I selected for ALL my contacts are Google photos.
- I created a new group (called Speed Dial) and included all the people I wanted to show in the contacts widget.
And now for the problem... I added about 10 people to the widget, some of them have a facebook account linked some of them don't. When I first added them all the appropriate Google photos were shown (although they were blurry but I could live with that).
However, anytime I sync my contacts or restart the phone ALL the photos are reset to Facebook photos. Not only for the contacts included in contacts widget but for ALL contacts that have a facebook account linked to them.
Is this a bug, a feature or just me being stupid and missing some fundamentals?
Does anyone have a tip or an advice?
Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: If this is just another buggy HTC widget then I have one more question
Is there a nice, good looking contacts widget for Desire? What do you guys use?
I've experienced the same and would prefer the photo I choose to appear instead of the facebook one. A friend of mine has his cat as his facebook contact photo and this keeps coming up on my phone. If anyone has some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Quest for the ultimate PIM...

There are a lot of Personal Information Managers available, and i have looked at many, but none of them fill my needs completely. Currently, I'm using many different apps to maintain my appointments, contacts and email, and still this is not perfect.
Currently, i'm using :
Improved Email (http://www.mwebster.us/) for my email needs (great subfolder support, handy overview of different exchange accounts, but no google account support);
The built In Gmail app (obvious only Gmail support)
Calendar Pad (the only calendar app which has the one-and-only useable week view (this one. All other month- and week views are totally unuseable in my opinion)
Android Agenda Widget (great customizing options, integrated view of appointments in all calendars with colour coding)
The built in appointments app when it comes to editing appointments
The built in contacts app
And still, this doesn't do it all:
- can't change exchange contacts details with the stock contacts app (only name)
- can't edit a lot of exchange appointments because they show up as meetings instead of appointments
- bugs in the built in Agenda app when opening all day & recurring events from an exchange account (events skipping a day forward, events becoming stretched over days).
My needs are:
- supporting two (or more) Exchange accounts
- support Google Calendar(s)
- widget showing apointments from all calendars in one view, showing the calendar colours
- email support for subfolders also
- contacts from Exchange and Google linked to the phones telephonebook
- full editing support of exchange items
- a week view of appointments like Calendar Pad
Touchdown brings back (bug free) editing of exchange contacts and appointments, but lacks a useable week view, and more important, only supports multiple exchange accounts by switching profiles (so agenda widgets like Pure Calendar only show appointments from one profile at a time and contacts in the phones telephonebook can only be edited if the appropiate profile is selected first in Touchdown. 2 dealbrakers IMHO). Also, searching the GAL (global adress list) on the exchange server doesn't always work.
Roadsync does support multiple exchange accounts, but only by editing the server credentials (which isn't real support imho).
So, Android is still lacking in business PIM support for me. Who knows of a PIM, which does it all?

"All Contacts" vs "My Contacts"

Gmail automatically adds contacts you've emailed into your contact list, they belong to "All Contacts" group.
Manually added contacts belong to "My Contacts" group.
But I couldn't get the phone to display *only* "My Contacts". (Contacts -> Hide/Show -> Google...)
Tried Googling the issue, solutions available but don't seem to work on Defy/Motorola.
Any idea?
Thx in advance.
Anyone...?
I have the same problem, which I posted to the Motorola Owners forums as well, only I don't just want to not display those contacts, but prevent then from syncing as well. I can't yet post working links:

After syncing my new Defy with my Google account, I've found all the contacts in the phone - not just the meaningful ones from My Contacts that have phone numbers and names - but every last single email address has created a separate contact in the phone.
My question is this: how can I limit the synced contacts to a group, like My Contacts in GMail?
Click to collapse
So far, I have not found a way to limit the display or the syncing of these contacts.
There are 2 apps for contacts, the one that is embedded in the dialer (the one that SUCKS), and the other is a stand alone Contacts which allows yo Manage groups in a certain way. I'd like to have good one embedded in the Dialer next to Recent and Favorites.. but im no dev. An certainly is annoying having to switch between them.

[Q] How to remove default app links on a rooted phone..??

Hello Frnds,
Recently I rooted my phone as I wanted to remove my stock SMS app due to missing functions as described in my previous post and also to remove the stock contact app as there is no provision to add birthday. After rooting, I removed these two apps and some of unwanted apps provided by SE. I installed new phonebook app and Handcent SMS app and I was happy unless I needed to add a new contact to my phonebook. When I click on add new contact , it showed me an error message saying application not found to handle this. When I again reinstalled the removed Contacts app back and click on add new contact from my new phonebook app, it opened the add new contact page of the Contacts app i.e. without Birthday entry. I was so annoyed to see that I landed up on the same path from where I had started.. Can anyone tell me how can I chagne the default link so that I can use the Add Contact funtion of new app Phonebook and not of the Contacts app.
Most of such replacement apps, especially messaging ones, need to work along with the corresponding default one. As far as I know, only GO SMS can work individually, but again, it's not recommended to uninstall such vital system apps because they are deeply integrated in stock ROM.

Thanks for ur reply.. But as u must know that there is not provision to add birthdate in the stock contacts app and even if I add some other app from market which has provision to add birthday and click on add new contact, it again opens the same stock contacts app's add contact page...

That last part is the third-party app's issue.
See, there are three elements in a Contacts app: the dialer, the contact list and the contact viewer.
Some apps include only the first two, thus when you open a contact, stock app (and more specifically InfiniteView) appears.
As for birthdays, if you sync your contacts with Facebook inside Xperia, you'll get them.
Or you could add a note to each contact with their birthday.
