I have read all of the topics on here and the rest of the internet and so far nothing seems to work, I soft-bricked my phone, I can boot into download and recovery fine, but even if i flash a old backup i cant get past the bootloop, Ive bricked my phone many times before and always recovered from it, but now if I run the LG Flash Tools I get a "failedPreviousLoad()" error, Ive even followed guides that i knew worked, is there something i am over looking? this is my only phone so i cannot afford to lose it, odd that it works halfway though. any help would be greatly appreciated
try uninstalling lg flash tool and removing all files associated with it (DO NOT GET RID OF THE TOT FILE)
then make sure there are no registery errors, after which, reboot your computer and reinstall the software like before.

hello, im new to the forums. i have a lg optimus us670 that i have been trying to customize. i rooted with gingerbreak and worked fine. i wanted to make a back up and after searching and reading the forums i went with amon ra recovery, but now the phone gets stuck at the lg screen. will not boot normal/ recovery. it will go into S/W upgrade though. tried to recover phone with lg update utility, when the utility starts it connects to phone, checks software, and recommends upgrade. when i try to update software or recover phone it cannot establish connection with phone. left it at us cellular store all day yesterday and all they could do was retrieve the phonebook/contacts. i have read forums and dont know what i should do next.
i have downloaded the kdz installer and downloaded my firmware from a link i found in one of the posts. but it is a .cab file with a .dll , .wdh , and a ms works database inside. i dont know what to do now.

okay, so... after more searching i have found a program that will load the .cab file onto my phone, but it errors when it extracts the file. wondering if i need to find another file...
okay, now im setting up adb on pc and will try to connect to phone, if nobody is following this i will quit posting what im doing. just hoping i can get this thing working again.
Ok so i bought a phone from a guy on craigslist a couple months ago and everything was fine its a sprint lg g2 that was running a tmobile rom he said never had an issue with it.. today i was working on my motorcycle and i must have hit system update in my pocket :/ well i have been trying to fix this phone for about 8 hrs now and im not having much luck.. first i tried to flash a new rom but couldnt get the drivers to be recognized by any computer i tried.. so i resorted to the flash tool and thinking i had a sprint g2 i downloaded the stock sprint .tot and dll. files the flash tool thinks my phone is a d801at so i downloaded the appropriate files and flashed again and it worked flawlessly i thought now the phone just force shuts down and reboots and if you lock the screen it reboots i have tried flashing it again and again and also preforming a factory reset from the phone im lost and dont know what to do if you could lead me to water i will drink lol but im lost and dont even know where to begin please help as i need my phone
someone please help...
if the build.prop was edited to make it think it was a different phone other then the sprint lg g2, you would have to fix the build.prop then re use the flash tool and tot it back to sprint stuff. You may have to flash a zip in recovery (if you have custom recovery), to fix the build prop. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed on the computer and try different usb ports and cords as well if the drivers aren't installing.

Post your issue on this thread. XxZombiePikachu is real helpful there. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692223

You had a Rom called "Justin's Rom" on it. Many people had this issue. Take your SIM card out, go back to stock using the flash tool, root with auto rec, then flash cloudystock.it works for tmobile out of the box.

I rooted my G3 using iRoot while having Lollipop 5.0 installed. I have just received my update from LG for Marshmallow. When I tried to do the update it told me that my phone was rooted so I can't get it. I un-rooted my phone, and tried to put everything back to the way it was, but no go. They still said my phone is rooted. The problem is that I can't do a hard factory reset. I get a message "secure booting error ...".
So after reading up on it a bit, I realized I needed to flash a stock ROM through my computer. I downloaded all that I needed, and installed LG Flashing Tool 1.8.1.1023 on my Windows 10 computer, following all the directions exactly (including replacing MegaLock.dll). The program installed, but when I wanted to run it, it told me that it couldn't find MegaLock.dll, and then asked for an ID and Password. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times using slightly different versions, but I had the exact same problem each time. Then I decided to try and install it on a Windows 7 machine, and it worked. So it seems that something is keeping it from working on the Windows 10 computer. Can anyone help me with this, or maybe there is another way? Maybe the dll file has to be placed somewhere else? Maybe a different MegaLock.dllis needed that is compatible with Win10? Maybe a different program? I have no idea. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I had problems with LG Flashing Tool the first time I tried to flash stock after upgrading my system OS to Windows 10. I finally got it to work by changing the compatibility mode for application file to Windows 8. I successfully flashed back to D85510L_00.KDZ after making the change I just mentioned.

Thanks, but I tried that already. Didn't work. In the end I transferred everything to my wife's Windows 7 computer and and did the flashing there. Everything ran as smooth as can be.
Long story short - Bought an LG D851 off Swappe. It came with CM13. I've been sticking nightlies on it. Currently on 2/14. I tried to put 2/18 and found that TWRP wasn't working - it hangs on TWRP Splace. Then I noticed SuperSU wasn't on the phone. So I installed it. Can't update the binaries. Looks like I don't have root.
Used LG Flash tool and flashed D85120E_00.kdz. Part way through, I get an error that the software cannot communicate with the server and it asks if I want to abort. I let it continue.
The phone reboots, I get the "Android is updating 1/196", etc. After which, it reboots, I get the boot jingle, and then it holds on the T-Mobile screen. I've tried flashing the KDZ a few times with the same result.
So now, I humbly, yet again, ask for help.
The endgoal here, is to have a working ROM with BT and WiFi working. I really don't care what it is at this point. Marshmallow is nice. Lollipop is okay. Whatever. I just need a working phone.
Thanks in advance, as always.

Ouch!!! Read my CM13 post...you don't need SuperSU anymore (CM13 has root built in)--I had the same problem a while back--fixed it by flashing the old factory version on the phone & then used Purple Drake to root it & then installed CM13...Was a HARD lesson for me.
Upshot---No SuperSU needed--No BusyBox needed on CM13. If you are used to the old way of doing things--you'll get B0rked big time.
Luck to you!!!!

I guess trying to push the SuperSU binaries is what effed up TWRP?
I'll check out your CM13 post. But the issue I have is that I can't flash a factory version with LG Flash Utility. I mean, it does, but now it just sits on the Tmobile splash.
Hopefully your post will show me something I missing.
@debianmain1 is this the post you're talking about? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65432245&postcount=158
I tried that DD command to no avail last night. I tried everything I could find before reaching out to everyone for help.

Yes--the SuperSU binaries B0rked my install real good ( as I understand it--2 different types of SU installed B0rks everything )..... And with CM13, you have to allow ADB & apps to have root. I've been modding phones for years now & CM13 threw me under the bus until I learned what to do... I use to ALWAYS root, install BusyBox & SuperSU---not with CM13
Ya--that won't help you I'd look up fastboot commands & try to flash it that way--sounds like you are stuck in a startup bootloop. I did see some info online about starting the G3 in fastboot--I had a very hard time getting my G3 fixed. Do you have a Linux computer to use? It's easier to work with some of the diag stuff with Linux.

I can always fire up an Ubuntu flash drive if necessary. I'll get working on Fastboot.
Thanks again!
@debianmain1 Hmmm, Fastboot doesn't seem to be functional. I've got download mode. Can I push something to it that way?
I managed to get somewhere yesterday. I tried flashing D85120e_00.kdz and it failed again. I got the "cannot communicate with server" error, then it rebooted and tried running initial setup and failed.
So I tried flashing D85110C_00.kdz. Much to my surprise, it worked! So I ran through initial setup and got the phone working to make sure all was well. I rebooted and got the Red 2. So now here I am. Guides show that I should be able to put it in download mode and reload factory firmware again. But all I get is the "Download Mode" graphic. It never switches over to the updating mode with the circular arrows. I fear the worst at this point, but I really don't know enough about the LGs to diagnose my own doom just yet.
Someone on Reddit pointed me in the direction of Board Diag. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to work on D851. Running out of options. Looks like it'll end up being an expensive learning experience.
sooo I decided I want to go back to stock, I'm not as technically inclined as I use to be and just want a normal phone I can just easily to updates on .
Currently TWRP - I tried to sideload the .zip but adb says cannot read file (I have tried both 32bit adb and 64bit adb) doesn't seem to effect it any.
I cannot find my files in TWRP so trying to load them from there doesn't work either..... I have put the 2 files the oem stock and the recovery img on my phone but internal storage says 0mb. I was able to manipulate it to finally come up and read info off the internal storage but the files are still not there, yet when I bring up my phone on the computer the files are both there.
can anyone please help me im frustrated and have spent hours trying to fix this and im hitting brick walls......

Have you tried using the unbrick tools? They are made specifically to return your phone to stock, though it gets wiped in the process
