Hello friends. I messed up my keyboard. And i need the stock based keyboard from N7105 kitkat. I flashed a modified keyboard and forgot to create a back up. So its always Force Closes. I just need the keyboard app. Can you make a flashable one so i can use odin with it? I dont want to reflash.
Or please tell how to rip only the keyboard from my rom?
N7105XXUFNE7_N7105OLBFNE1_N7105XXUFND3_HOME.tar.md5 (this is the rom that im using)
I've managed to extract the stock keyboard from your rom. Unzip the archive I attached and use rootbrowser or any other file manager and copy both SamsungIME.apk and SamsungIME.odex to /systrem/app/ . I hope this helps, good luck.

Hello all,
I am very new to the evo and android. I have android 2.2 stock from the store and I am curious as to how I install the droid x keyboard and will i loose the stock keyboard that came with the phone.
i see all of the zip files but do i just install the apk file for the color keyboard that i like and that's it or do i install the apk file and then have to do something else to change the color.
sorry if this has been explained somewhere else..
If you're talking about the multitouch keyboard from the Droid X you have to flash it in recovery
Hi!,
You need to download the zip file to your sdcard and flash it, using ClockWork or Amon_RA Recovery.
You can find all the info and one of the best keyboards with many skins to choose from right here:

Hope this helps.

Have you rooted your phone?
You need to go into recovery and flash the zip file just like you would a rom

Basically, it means you can't do it. If it has to be installed from recovery, your phone would need to be rooted so you can install a custom recovery such as Clockwork or AmonRA. With any of those installed, you can boot into the custom recovery and "flash" files onto your phone. For a lack of better terms, flash is another way of saying install. However, if you read the first few lines of the link, it says some people were able to without flashing from recovery, so you'd have to try it. It seems you can't use a comma on the Evo with that keyboard, so that in itself would stop me from using it.
If you don't want to root your phone and want a better keyboard, i suggest you go with Swype. I don't remember what typing on a phone was without it.
related question: I love the Keyboard on CM6 and now on yet another rom. It's a bit different than the regular multi touch in you can slide up and get numbers and other symbols. What is the name of this keyboard?
Thanks for the info. I wont be rooting the phone so ill stick with the stock keyboard
Thanks again
Um, I pushed the file and installed it like a regular .apk. Although I am rooted, I don't think you HAVE to be just to install that keyboard.

I did the exact same... And I'm not rooted.
My 100th post yay me? haha
You don't need to be rooted! Its simple download the .apk on your phone and use astro or another file manager to install it. Their is a thread on here with a bunch of different themes for the multi touch keyboard. It is really simple after that also just go to settings--->language and keyboard----> scroll down and check multitouch keyboard than just go to a text input field hold your finger there than select input method and choose your keyboard!!
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
i saw all of the different themes. Do i just use the apk file that is included in each of the zip files to get the different theme?
also will these erase the original stock keyboard??

as previously stated, no ROOT access is needed to flash a keyboard, and it wont "erase" the stock keyboard
No, it won't delete the original keyboard...download the keyboard theme that you like and then place the zip file on the sd card of the phone. Then your gonna need astro - which you can download from the market for free. Open astro and navigate to the zip that you put on your sd card and open the zip. Find the APK and long press it and it will open up giving you the option to install. Install. Then go to settings - language and keyboard and check the multi-touch KB. Then, when you go to send a text, long press on the text entry area and a menu will pop up that says input option and select multi-touch and your good to go! To change back to the original kb long press on the text entry area and you can reselect the original kb. No root required!
Just installed this keyboard.. LOVE IT!! Thanks for the install instructions!
I'm getting force closes. Did I install wrong?
I've searched other threads unsucessfuly, I accidently deleted the aosp keyboard on CM6. Does anyone have it, or have a link to where I can get it? Thanks, I don't want to reflash if I don't have too
I think I have seen it before, but forget which thread. the easiest way is probably to just download the cyanogen rom, extract it& get the LatinIME.apk from the /system/app folder ( I think that's the directory )
I have attached the offending boot animation....
If someone could please point me in the right
direction on what im doing wrong...
And if someone else is having the same
problem, maybe this might show/help show
them the right way as well....
I have tried it in system/media as well as
system/customize/resource...and still a no
go...Is the internal file settings correct?
I can use other boot screens and it works
but this modded version doesn't work
what kind of rom? sense or asop. cause you missing the correct file stucture either way.
Im sorry Im using Sense and I am trying
to work it in a stock ROM that I have
been working on for a week
here try one of these. i put the correct files in both and zipped it and made it for either one(asop or sense)
these are for flashing in recovery, if you want to just add it to a rom unzip and take out the bootanimation.zip and you can replace it in the rom before flashing the rom or use root explorer
so would you know how to integrate it in
so there is no need on flashing? It has the
boot screen already "pre-loaded" when
you flash the ROM
but other then that...AWESOME THANKS!
in a sense rom you have to goto system\customize\resource and just replace the bootanimation.zip with the one you want to use. when zipping up the rom you zip the whole thing with 7zip(or whatever you use) using normal and you have to sign it using autosign(or whatever you use)
hope that helps you out, good luck with the rom
works BEAUTIFULLY!! You may use it if you like!
Can someone load up a stock GSM 4.0.4 systemUI? I put this mod on my phone last night that was suppose to ONLY be a battery percentage mod but ended up changing all my UI buttons. I hate it. And like a dumbass, I didn't backup before I flashed it.
So if anyone can upload a zip file of the stock 4.0.4 systemUI that I can apply via CWM would be great. ( I have the GSM nexus so I need the systemUI from it a verizon or sprint UI wont help me)
Thanks!
Hi,
Here it is:https://rapidshare.com/files/500812190/Stock_SystemUI.zip
Sweet! Thanks so much. I shouldn't need the systemui.odex file should I? If I do could you load that up for me as well?
Re,
Heu...You're on a stock rom rooted?Or a custom rom,which one?
Because, yes the SystemUI.apk I've posted is from a stock rom but deodexed...
Awesome. It works. I gave you some thanks.
Re,
Ah ok,good to hear!
I answered, but were answered at the same time ,but it works,so...
Im on stock rom. So it should have been an odex. But i flashed it in CWM and everything works fine. I had always though that if you flashed a deodex on an odex ROM it wouldnt boot, but it seems eveything is fine.
Re,
In case of issue, maybe test this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514576&highlight=odex...
Just for re-odex your SystemUI.apk?I've tested this on a deoxeded rom with no issue, but on also an odexed rom with just an app deodexed,I don't know...Backup before,if you want to test
I do not know if I was clear...?
Instead of trying to re-odex the file, why not just grab it directly from the stock image?
Download the factory images from here, extract the system.img from within, convert it to an .ext4.img by using this and then (for Windows users) use this to mount the .ext4.img and extract the file.
Know you've learned how to grab any file from the stock images in case you mess up any of your files...
i was been using neatrom ICS v1.2 and now updated to JB .
Please help me get the keyboard of v1.2 in JB ...i am very much used to it and newer keyboard is ifficult for me ...alsonew keyboard doesnt hv smileys and not very much effective in sms ..
Please help...
hope a positive reply.
Try using Go Keyboard or swiftkey X or any equivalent or simply restore from Titanium backup
The files that are needing from ICS are listed in the post in my signature but I haven't tried them in JB. If anyone does want to try them, just try getting the files listed in my signature from one of the latest stock roms or whichever you use (ie. neatrom) and try transferring them or make a CWM flashable zip.
I have linked to the LPU keyboard files I use when customising the ROMs I use and I have also extracted and linked the Neatrom 1.2 files for you, but you'll have to test them so I recommend doing a nandroid backup first, just in case it doesn't work
Neatrom 1.2 Keyboard CWM
LPU Samsung Keyboard CWM
Just click the links and select 'File' then 'Download' to download each of them

Probably won't work then unless there is someone who's good at coding and stuff who's willing to have a look. All the files included in the zip's are exactly what I use when I customise ROMs for my own use and they work flawlessly. Only other thing I'd suggest is wiping all your cache & dalvik cache and fix permissions. Other than that, if it still will not work, restore your nandroid backup
Android 4.2 keyboard (all these good stuff) download and install as a normal apk.
