I installed the app yesterday and was shocked to find 19 bad dismounts this AM. I also installed it on one of my phones and another tablet. Guess what no bad dismounts. What the heck could be causing this behavior only on the G Pad?
I'm running LG 20b with TWRP recovery and a 64 GB GSkill SD card.
Just installed… will report back with results.

So yesterday I swapped out my SD card with the one in my phone. Its a 32 GB Sandisk that the previous day showed no dismounts at all. Just checked my G Pad and in 14 hours I had 17 bad dismounts. On my phone the Gskill that was in the tablet shows no issues at all.
So it is 100% a problem with the G Pad. It just seems strange that some have no issues at all. I'm wondering if it has to do with the way the sd card is used. I use foldermount and have about 30 GB of games and data that I'm constantly using. As others have stated I never get a dismount while in use only when the tablet sleeps for more than 10 minutes.
I sent in a service inquiry to LG and maybe they can supply an answer. I'm betting that this is why I've had 3 dead SD cards in the G Pad since I've owned it.
Can it caused by foldermount? Somebody who does not use foldermount and has the unmount issue ?

I'll see if foldermount is causing my dismounts. I just flashed 20b fresh and will not install anything else and see what my results are.
I also stopped the mounting in the app itself...and now see waht the result is... after one hour still no unmount of the sdcard . Fingers crossed...

Tried that fix and in my case did not help. About 90 minutes ago my card disappeared completely. I removed it and put it in my reader and there was 719 errors that got repaired. Card works again in tablet but still dismounts continuously. I'm going to install another rom and monitor what happens. If another rom does the same I'll be getting another tablet asap. Kind of wished I had never noticed this thread because I thought everything was cool after removing link2sd

I've had the same issue with the stock SD card. It didn't happen until after I rooted and flashed MIUI. Can't imagine that has anything to do with it. I keep a constant back up of any new picture I take on my computer. It hasn't happened recently though. (Knock on wood)
I'm just saying it is obviously an issue, but not necessarily with YOUR sd card or the fact that its a 16gig. Weird stuff.
Haha yea I know I did flash miui to :\
I'm hoping its a bug I don't want to get another SD card to much time to put everything back in it

So i bought a 16 gb class 4 SD card for my galaxy s3. My old 4 gb SD card that I replaced worked great with no fail. This new card however, sometime unmount and remount. Sometime it lets me write to it other time I can only read what I already have on there from it. This is a problem because when I set the sd card as all my media defaults sometime message comes up saying it failed to write to sd card so it changed back to phone memory.....
Anyone know if this is a bad card or if there is anyway I can set things up to make the card work. Thanks ! I have 15 days to replace it.
edit- I tried to look for other related sd issue, but it seems to only be talking about rooted phones. I dont have root and this is my first android so I'm not comfortable going the rooting route just yet.

Which do you recommend. Exfat/ fat32 or Ntfs??
I've also had this issue but my fone is rooted. I've had to reformat it at least once a week. I will go to save music or a picture to it and it will say the ext sd card isn't accessible and when I go check it with root explorer instead of folder titled music It will be £usic or something crazy. Then the card will start switching to r/o instead of r/w.
Edit: it meaning the external sd card.

How I that that rom for gaming against nxt le because I use nxt le with a visualization mod wich makes it look alot better is gin2jb just gb themed to look nicer?
And haha how stupid of me not to realise that lol thanks mate
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Gin2JB is just gingerbread themed to look like Jellybean. It works well and gaming is smooth although I do experience bad lag on some games such as the amazing Spider-Man. Not sure how it compares to NXT as I've not used it.
Regarding link2SD, I got everything linked eventually by persisting but then saw that my 1.5GB partition was somehow full which I didn't understand. I don't get how apps could take up over 1.5GB so I decided to move everything back onto the SD card and try linking them again. Don't really know what I was thinking. This led to the phone displaying and having less than 1mb internal storage which meant I could barely do anything. I moved 2apps to the SD card from settings to free up some memory but I don't know why it did that as I already moved them to SD using link2SD.
Anyways, my problem currently is why my whole 1.5GB is being filled up? Why is it taking that much storage?

this ^^^ may be your issue. a corrupt image, music, video file somewhere on your sd. a lot of ppl say to back up everything on yer sd card to a pc, and then reformat, then add back the contents. i know that stopped it for some. otherwise youll have to figure out what file is corrupted.
when i had a corrupted file, it was a picture that had about 80% of the image on it and the other 20% was just grey. (yep that was corrupted) so i deleted it..
this wonderful app also stops your 'media' process/scanner. you can disable it and enable it and it worked wonders for me in the past, but now CarbonRom has a media scanner toggle built in
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.addz.mediascannerroot please read description and use at your own risk.. like maybe make a nand first.
just an FYI, the service that gets very high when youre listening to lots of music is 'mediaserver' - which is not related to the 'media' process
Thanks to everyone for all of your input! You guys have been a huge help knocking this little annoyance out!!

Yeah sounds like you're having issues with the external SD. Mediascannerservice is what scans for media on SD cards. I've had that issue before and it was a pita! Reformatted and everything was fine till I added all my files then it returned. One of the files (a movie) was no good. It got corrupted and would still play so I never thought anything of it till I tried *watching* the whole movie one day and it cut off with an unsupported message at like 40 mins through. Once I deleted that and rebooted never had the issue again.

Using the same exact card. You need to plug it into your computer and format it to fat32. Natively, windows doesn't support fat32 on anything above 32gb but there are programs out there that do it.
