After downgrading from 4.3 to 4.1.1 official from sammobiles, i got IMEI as null, Network blocked, hidden service mode.
I tried to fix IMEI but with no useful
Does anyone know about how to fix all ?
Let me guess....you "downgraded" using mobile Odin? Consider yourself lucky. As is posted all over these forums, forcing a downgrade from 4.3 WILL brick your device!
Luckily, mobile odin does not flash the full firmware. It does flash the modem though which is the cause of your problems. Flash back to the 4.3 modem and you'll get everything back. You cannot use any modems older than your current firmware build, meaning you MUST use the 4.3 one.
i will try to flash the modem thought as 4.3 modem required , i'll let u know
thx for ur reply,
Flashed roms after breaking knox & rooted & used tringle away for counter reset & mobile odin pro
already done flash the modem & it workedbut after flashing the modem in 4.3 for 4.1.1, it'll not show the [4] NV INITIALIZZ to unlock sim

it won't show it, and it never will.. you cannot unlock it that way after the device has been updated to 4.3

Once on 4.3, your only unlock options are to get a code from T-Mobile or buy one online. Cheap on eBay.

Hello there,
I live in India and my Note 2 is a Poland made and running with 4.1.2 stock ROM non rooted. But the device status was shown 'modified'. Due to that (i think) i was not able to get any updates. So i decided to download and flash 4.3 ROM via odin. I did exactly and flashing was success. But after that i was not able to connect to my mobile network. It shows the coverage, base-band version, operators around me, IMEI...etc. But failed to register on network. Sadly i found that my IMEI was changed. Then i searched in xda and found out few modem patches. To flash them i rooted device and installed recovery. Then flashed DMG1_MODEM and modem_XXDME4 but nothing happened. Phone is still not registering to network.
What to do ?
I assumed that your device history was imei null or efs corruptted which has been fixed under 4.1.2 version.by upgrading the modem it will surelly broke your efs again.use special box to repair the network, nothing else you can do.
you have to flash the factory-image via odin (i think this would be the poland one in your case). you will get this on sammobile.com. with this it recreates your efs including your imei. (had this problem also)
after this you can try flashing a different rom, but don't forget to backup the efs

Is it safe to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1 just by flashing factory images via odin ?
If you have flashed the latest bootloader MK4,its not possible to downgrade to 4.1 as of now...

So using the phone like a tablet without GSM is the future for me ?
Hi i have been trying to update my att SG3(rooted) 4.1.2 for a while now, when i try to update to 4.3 it says it does not have any update available but i know that this phone can go up to 4.4.2 kitkat,i have tried to do it with odin but unfortunaley i couldnt find the original firmaware in sam-mobiles ,plz help,it does not necesserly have to go to 4.3 if you guys also now a way to go directly to 4.4.2 it will be great.and i have also tried before rooting my phone, still didnt work.P.S:sorry for my bad english.
If you have the 4.1.2 bootloader on your phone, the simplest way would be to flash back to stock ATT 4.1.1 with Odin and use OTA update to get to 4.4.2.
Using Odin will wipe all of your data off your phone.
You can also odin flash MJB firmware available in the General section. Then you'd only need one ota to get to 4.4.2.

sorry,im kinda new at this but does bootloader means firmware?,and if it does, for me to flash do i just download the android 4.1.1 and flash to my phone or is there something i need to do before doing that(like unrooting my phone).and if just flash can you plz indicate me a secure site to download it.sorry for the bothering
Yes. When folks here say to flash/update bootloader, they are taking about the full firmware. (Kinda confused me at first too)
You can download it at http://sammobile.com/firmwares

There are various pieces of software that need to be installed in order to all of the various functions to work. The main components are:
the bootloader http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...bootloader-on-android-phones-complete-guide/;
the modem/baseband http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseband_processor; and
the operating system or ROM itself.
ATT never released a full firmware (ROM, bootloader, baseband) for 4.1.2 but they did for 4.1.1.
Since your phone is on 4.1.2, you would download the firmware from the previous post, download Odin, install the USB drivers, and flash the firmware.
ok,thank you both DocHoliday77 and audit13
Just a quick FYI, it's more than just the bootloader/modem. The firmware includes the following partitions:
aboot - bootloader
NON-HLOS.BIN - modem/baseband
RPM - resource and power management
sbl2/sbl3 - secondary bootloaders
TZ - Trust Zone
System - rom
Boot - kernel
Cache
Recovery
The first group MUST all match. If they don't it can hard brick.
(This is why I've always wondered why people on the AT&T forums always say to just update bootloader and modem. I'm used to referring to it as the base firmware if not including the system/rom components, or full firmware if including the system.)
Sorry, a little OT. Not anything to be overly concerned about, just me being overly technical is all.

If you follow audit13's instructions you'll be fine.

Now that you're on 4.1.1, use the free method to sim unlock your phone before running OTA updates.
When you are in download mode, do you see the word "Custom" anywhere? Did you run triangle away before flashing back to 4.1.1?

I updated to Cyanogenmod 11's latest nightly of 4/26/2015 and my phone started behaving badly.
I kept losing signal and having trouble making calls and in my attempts to resolve the issue by flashing back to a previous nightly it seems I lost my IMEI and with it connectivity.
I found a video on youtube that says to access the service menu to fix it but CyanogenMod doesn't do anything when I enter the codes in the dialer so I was attempting tro go back to stock but having trouble finding a good stock rom I can use and the 2 I"ve tried both fail in odin. Then I read something about needed a pit file but flashing that fails to.
So right now I went back stop recovery but still on Cyanogenmod but the phone doesn't do anything when it boots...just no connection.
Someone told me the pros in this forum could help so here I am, help me Cell Phone Gods!!!:crying:
Got this phone info app that says bootloader is I747UCUEMJB
Update 5/5/2015 I'm on latest bootloader and running stock rom but have no data and both calling and text work randomly. 4G symbol comes on once in a while but most of the service I do get when it works is on edge network.
Sounds like your modem may be messed up.
Load a terminal app and use the app to verify the bootloader on your phone.

Odin is failing with the stock ROM from sammobile because the phone has at least a 4.3 bootloader on your phone. Do not flash anything from sammobile because attempting to do so could brick your phone.
Since you're back on cwm with an mjb bootloader, try flashing the mjb modem via cwm.

I did flash the modem you linked and that improved things a bit...I'm back to the original problem, I was having where my phone was having trouble staying on the network. I had even lost all my APNs in my attempts to fix. Now my APNs are back. Still showing unkown IMEI and phone isn't getting on the cell phone network.
So the baseband is now mjb?
Try flashing the latest release of CM10.2. It's possible you need to update the modem and bootloader together in order to support the newest release of CM11. I don't have an s3 so i can't confirm my theory.
You may have to try nvwriter to inject the imei as a last resort: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804117

The NV Writer method, I get stuck at this point in the instructions
"*If you are running a aosp rom (cm9,cm10,aokp etc) you can use the diag method described HERE"
The link is dead so I've no idea what I'm supposed to do.
Since your imei is null, I'm not sure what else to suggest except to re-flash the existing bootloader and modem or flash a newer bootloader and modem.

I wonder if I was on NJ1 before I started messing around....
I moved to another country to find out that my Note 2 is carrier locked.
I googled how to unlock it and found that option of accessing ServiceMode with *#197328649# but since my Note was already OTAd to 4.4.2, this wasn't working.
I decided to try and flash 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 to it with Odin but every single time I tried, Odin gave me a Fail, stating that Nand write start - fail.
I flashed a CM11 on it to see if it can do anything (with CWM) but something went wrong and I couldn't get pass the "Galaxy Note II" screen, so I flashed 4.4.2 with Odin and it worked.
So I can flash 4.4.2. but not 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.
I'd hugely appreciate any help! Thank you

You can't flash firmware via odin which has older bootloader than yours must have the same version bootloader or newer. Samsung rules, sorry. Look if you find any custom 4.1.1 rom to flash via cwm and unlock it but be careful because 4.1.1 has sds bug and is possible to brick your device. Another way is to try to flash it via mobile odin which don't flash bootloader flashes all the rest but is dangerous for sds too. Maybe you can find at Internet any cheap unlock code also.

Bootloader sorry but is not possible to downgrade, about 4.1.1 rom I haven't any link, take a look at old posts at forum if you find any. You can also try mobile odin the free version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899 you need to have root access to your phone and to download the correct addon (kernel for mobile odin) from the end of the page. You can flash with it the original 4.1.1 firmware which you have already. It flashes only the firmware without bootloader. If you haven't use it before read carefully the instructions and use it. It is absolutely safe, the only which is not safe is the firmware you trying to flash because of sds (sudden death symptom).

AT&T Galaxy s3 switched to T-mobile = hotspot not working (modem/baseband upgrade???)
The phone in question is a 100% stock AT&T galaxy s3.
Android = 4.4.2 Baseband = 1747UCUFNJ2 ROM=Stock
The hotspot worked fine on AT&T's network, quit working once we switched to T-mobile. The phone connects to network just fine (internet works), but when I enable hotspot I get the error "mobile data is off or invalid sim", even tho the mobile data is on and connected. I believe it is due to the baseband/modem but I am not sure?
I would like to upgrade to 1747UCUEMJB or 1747UCUFNE4 but am not 100% of the process and fear bricking the phone (It is not mine).
I remember doing this on a dif s3 a very long time ago, and I had to upgrade to MJB then upgrade to NE4 in succession. Is this still the way to go?
Also, the phone is not rooted and has an older stock recovery. Can I just throw the baseband file on the sdcard, boot into stock recovery and flash? Or should I use Odin?
Also, is there a way to back up the entire phone without a custom recovery or root in case I screw something up? I tried using galaxy s3 toolkit, but when I try to "install an insecure boot image to enable adp" (have to do this to backup it says) it hangs on "waiting for USB debugging to be enabled" even tho it is on for sure.
Thanks in advance for any help guys!
The safest way to update to the latest stock ROM may be to flash a stock ROM from Sammobile.com and run ota updates until the phone is running the latest ROM.

I did not realize MJB is older than NJ2....I suppose I just need to flash NE4 then?
I cannot do OTA updates as it was an AT&T phone and now were on T-mobile and when I try an OTA update it errors out trying to connect to AT&T servers.

Oops I missed that lol, thank ya sir.
So I guess the baseband is not the problem? No it is not rooted.
T-mobile tech support said they couldn't make the tethering and hotspot turn on even though it is active on the account. I have a rooted s3 with cm13 and the tethering and hotspot works fine. But this is my fathers phone and its 100% stock non-rooted. Was just trying to figure how to make the hotspot work, but I have no idea what it could be now if its not the baseband....hmm, thoughts?
If the phone is 100% stock and the baseband is nj2, then the bootloader should also be nj2 as OTA updates and Samsung firmware update both at the same time.
As some s3 owners have discovered, flashing an incompatible baseband or bootloader can hard brick the phone.
You could flash a custom recovery to the phone and then flash a custom ROM to see if that helps. Before flashing a custom ROM, you should backup the existing ROM and all partitions using TWRP in case you want to restore.
