System Restore / Fix booting loop

Sprint Logo repeating and repeating on you? Mine was too, here is a set of instructions that even a n00b like myself can follow to fix that. We'll simply be restoring the system software/ROM on your phone. There are other instructions listed, but don't include step-by-step instructions.
Keep in mind that this requires bubby's recovery, which is the ACS version. You can not mount USB on other recoveries (yet).
Boot into CWM
(Hold down Power and Up arrow until it appears)
Connect your phone to your computer with the data cable
Go to mounts and storage
Then mount sd card
Then do mount usb storage (second to last option)
and download the files linked inside this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272186
unzip it into a folder in the following location on the root of the phone's sd card:
/clockworkmod/backup/(any folder name)
so it would look like clockworkmod/backup/folder/ (files)
This is IMPORTANT, it must be in clockwordmod, then backup, then ANY folder name. If you leave the files in just "backup" it will give an error no files found.
Then do a wipe your data/factory reset
Then do a wipe cache
Then go to the backup and restore menu
and then the restore, will be whatever you named the folder that you unzipped the files to.
Let it finish, choose reboot and you should be good to go!
If you want to avoid losing your data in the future, follow these steps to make a full system backup as often as you'd like:
go back into cwm, goto the backup and restore menu again
then press backup
You can keep multiple backups
Again, I take no credit for this, just passing along the information. Hope this saves someone else's day!
All the credit goes to kse91holydiver, he helped me, now I'm trying to pass along the instructions to others who may be in the same spot.
Double post ? maybe
Also, you have to be on bubby's recovery, which is the ACS version. You can not mount USB on other recoveries yet.

You should put "For Noobs", or "Noob Friendly", or "Idiot Proof" in the thread title so people don't think you're double posting.....Bromigo.

Going to repost I resolve my own issue, there are two things I did to finally get my pc to see my phone so I'm not sure which resolved, First which is what I think solved it was be sure you don't have a drive like and dvd-rom drive or flash drive with a assigned letter of E: or F: if you do Google how to change it. And the second thing I did was reflash with zedomaxV3 and let it restart to the boot animation automatically then I unplugged and pulled battery and put battery back in and plugged usb back in and boot to animation again, then restart and mount in clockwork mod.
I hope this helps anyone else.
I made a nandroid backup in cmw v5, installed AE mod rom, didnt like it, booted, and I got cwm v4? ...and my restore/backup file no longer exists.
I cannot unzip the files to the phones folder: /clockworkmod/backup/folder/ (files) because I dont have a folder understand name at all.
This is my first time rooting, Iam still stuck with a looping SPrint loop boot screen.
Any suggestions?

Never mind, got it. : )
This saved my phone! I love you all!
OMG! Thank you so much! I had bricked my phone and this worked when other methods did not! It only took me 16 hours to research and try different methods. You are awesome! Back to factory so now I can hopefully find a good root and rom.

[Q] Stock Update.zip?

It seems I deleted the update.zip file. I cant mount external sd card via Clockwork. My phone just sits at the startup screen. I would flash a new rom but I cant get to the external storage. I can flash a stock kernel but then cant flash a rom.
Can someone PLEASE post the stock UPDATE.ZIP file found on the internal storage so I can update my phone? Thank you.

Why don't we just let these posts fall off of the front page instead of everyone trying to be vigilante moderators. Bumping these threads is almost as bad as starting them. (And yes I am aware that's what I'm doing right now, but it is all the way at the top.)
EDIT: Ok, I'll be helpful too. update.zip attached.
Was that the file? Didnt work and seems to be pretty small. If thats it thank you anyway.

Need your help if you have a rooted HTC Desire HD

Hi All, we are working on unbricking HTC Desire HD and need the partition info and partition backup from a working DHD phone to move forward. If you have a working rooted DHD, you may help us on any of below. Thank you!
1. if you rooted your phone by using gfree, then as this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision) in section '6. Backup and cleanup' it mentions the gfree can backup part7backup-.bin, etc. If you have those backup files, can you please send them to us.
2. with your working phone, you may retrieve the partition info as this post (thanks E:V:A), can you post your partition info output, as well as your carrier name and ROM info. Other info like recovery type/version, HBOOT display (which shows S-ON/OFF, Radio version, etc) and CRC's are also helpful but optional.
3. If you phone's microSD has 2G or more free space, and you has some Linux and ADB knowledge, you can backup the whole internal memory of your phone to a file on SD, then pull the file over to your PC, and upload somewhere and share with us. See This post (thanks TrevE) for details. Please note this type of backup file has all your phone memory including the IMEI number and your user data, so please don't share it in public. You may use a HEX editor to search the backup file for your IMEI number and mask it (I don't know if it is encoded or encrypted somehow). If you can trust me, please upload your backup and PM me the download link.
4. If you are a developer (know python and has Linux or Windows with Python), you may try to run the attached script to pull the partition info and backup partition by partition as this post (thanks darkspr1te) . However, the post and script was not coded and tested for DHD so you may get error and need to edit the script to make it work with DHD.
Thanks for you help!
Anyone??
You wouldnt know when you would arrive in a QHSUSB_DLOAD situation.

Recovering accidentally deleted photos

Hi, I accidentally deleted 700 photos from my Samsung Galaxy S9. I purchased FoneLab-Android Data Recovery but couldn't figure out how to use the "advanced Root" to get the deleted photos. Everything I looked at, regarding root apps, said not to trust them. So, it's been 3 days now since I lost the photos, but I haven't used the camera because I read it could overwrite the photos I'm looking to recover. Can anyone help, in layman's terms? Thank you! Cheryl
If the photos were on the phone and not the sdcard I'm not sure there is any way to recover them as the internal storage is encrypted, heard of people bricking their phone trying with various recovery programs
If they were on the MicroSD card you can run pretty much any PC software recovery program, although there are specific ones for USB/SD cards too
Future reference, make regular backups (How did you manage to delete 700 photos accidentally?)
Hi, thank you for responding. I think they were on the SD card. The album shows a picture of a camera and an sd card. So, I went to delete a video I just took but didn't realize I was on the "folder", selected it, and didn't realize until it was too late that I selected the whole folder! I hit cancel when I saw it was deleting over 700 photos, but again, was too late. So, if they were on SD card, how should I proceed?
Thank you!
Cheryl

Take the SDCard out of the phone, get a reader or adapter to put it in so you can connect it to your PC
Make sure you do not copy anything else to that card
Install this on your PC
https://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/card-recovery-software/sd-card-recovery-freeware.htm
Follow instructions to recover files to from the sdcard to PC
Good luck
Thank you so much! I'll give it a try!
There is a site about recovering data from an Android phone. But for your Samsung S9, you need to root it first.
www.android-data-recovery.com
Another option.
https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva
recover deleted photos
hello,
Maybe you can use the Bitwar Data Recovery to recover your deleted photos. As you have lost hundreds of photos, most data recovery tools are not free to use. So I think you can try this freeware.
Well bro, the situation is very hard to bear as I can understand the worth of those 700 photos. When luck is bad then you cannot do anything. But one thing can be done to get back lost pictures from your Galaxy S9 and that is by using a recovery tool like Android Photo Recovery.
Yes, this is the only solution that can bring back your disappeared pictures from Samsung phone. But remember you should not overwrite the files with new data. Using a recovery program is the only answer to your data loss and all your pictures will be restored without any backup required.
But I would also like to mention that if you have created a backup then kindly check them once. And if not then you must use the a recovery tool like Android Photo Recovery.
