I recently rooted my HTC One (M8) so that I can get rid of the bloatware that the phone comes with. However, I seem to be unable to remove the apps. I used Root Uninstaller Pro, Titanium Backup, and going to system/app and system/priv-app using Root Explorer (then reboot), but they continue to come back on. Does anybody know how to permanently remove the bloatware? I am almost to the point that I would just back up the ROM and install a CyanogenMod 11 Nightly.
The Bloatware that I want to remove:
Amazon
Google Drive
Gmail
Kid Mode
Lookout Security
Parent Dashboard
Photos (Google)
Play Books
Play Movies and TV
Play Newsstand
POLARIS Office 5
Stocks
T-Mobile TV
(Possibly) T-Mobile Name ID
Visual Voicemail
Carrier IQ
Why don't you just disable each of those apps from within the settings/apps menu?

They do not show up on any of the three tabs (Downloaded, SD Card, Running) of Settings/Apps.
The fourth tab, "All" is where I found them. I have selected "uninstall updates" and "disable" from there. After that, the apps are disabled.

Thank you, I didn't see the fourth tab. Though I found another way to permanently remove those apps. It was posted in the HTC One (M8) generic Forum.
Here it is if anybody wants it.

seems like your issue is sort of resolved but the reason you were having difficulty is there is write protection on the system partition. it can be removed by flashing a custom kernel or there is a mod that will just remove the write protection.

Then I search in google and say to do this
1. Launch Android Market.
2. Switch to the Home screen.
3. Wait 5-10 minutes for Market to self-update.
4. Re-launch Market.
But it didn't work. Can anyone help me get the new market
P.S I want to find a way to auto update not to update manually
Give it some time. It will do it on its own. If its been more then a day, then i'd wonder wtf.

I noticed this too. My Market App updated, but none of my apps updated like they always did with my Sensation??? I think HTC Sense had a different back-up format because my wife's Vibrant never updates the apps either, just the Market.
BTW I love this phone!!! Makes my Sensation look and feel lame. GO SGS2!!!
Thank you it work

So, I ws playing around in Titanium and came across 'Googe Play Services' app. After a second or two in Google Search,I came upon the APK in the actual market. (Play store) I decided to just see why/what it is doing there. Google already told me what it was.... I was curious.
The fun part was the comments. If you had a few seconds, check out the comments. Add your own..

Sorry if this was mentioned previously. I was genuinely amused.

Could someone please actually tell me what this is?
My phone was not wanting to download or update any apps. I restarted my phone and I got a notification saying I had an app update. I clicked it and it took me to that app in the play store.
I assumed I had gotten a virus or something and was trying to be phished using this app. So I decided not to download it and did a factory reset on my phone.
After that my phone worked fine and it never popped up again. I made sure and installed an anti virus though.

So why did it pop up out of nowhere? Is it because I had an app installed that needed it?

So as you all know Facebook is planning on relasing to the public a launcher suited for the use of their social networking. Starting up with the new HTC First.
You may find some things working, some not. For example the messenging app

Hello, Do you have a list of what specific apps must be deleted? There are a lot of apps and plugins too
the main facebook apk in general, i deleted all of them, including the plugins
I managed to get it work on my Nexus S but after rebooting the device two or three times the screen went black, no feed from facebook even the interface was working. Same problem on the Nexus 7.
later edit: Facebook is causing the news feed error, probably wants us to wait for the official release
Same thing as above. Feed doesn't work. I think that it was a "controlled" leak made by Facebook

This is an older version of wallet. It's the one before google broke it.
It will only work if you have it working already. If you have the newest one working, don't try this one
The device check has been removed
If you don't have it working now, don't ask how to. I have no idea yet, until my rom updates and I'm going to try a few things.
To install
FIRST AND FORMOST. MAKE DOUBLE SHORE YOUR PLAYSTORE IS NOT SET UP TO AUTO UPDATE APPS, TURN NOTIFICATIONS OFF ALSO IN PLAYSTORE. THIS IS A MOST, IF YOU DONT, THE APP WILL UPDATE AND IT IS RENDERED USELESS.
Download
Delete your old one and replace it with this one all at the same time. Fix permissions
It most be in system/app
Reboot.
Should work
You take all risks if it doesn't.
DONT COMPLAIN IF ITS BROKE.
If you do it right, it won't break. I've done hundreds of times.
Transparent wallet
Brb
Just an FYI, if you choose to try any mooded playstore and you have to unistall playstore first. The new playstore default to auto update and wallet updated in a blink of an eye. This is why many wallets got broke. I also believe that Google settings app that came with Google plus has allot to do with this entire mess.

Does anyone know if it's possible to set the playstore to only offer & display updates
for apps which are currently in my app drawer instead of offering/displaying all apps
which I have ever downloaded or purchased from the playstore which I don't use?
In other words I want the playstore to only display those updates which are currently
installed in my phone's app drawer and not for all apps which I have ever downloaded.
I know the settings in the playstore are very limited so perhaps there is a third party
app which I am unaware of that I can download from the playstore which has a lot
more user options in it's settings so I could have more control over the playstore.
Any help, suggests or advise would be really appreciated.
Well if I got you right it does it on its own if you select my apps and open the installed register. Sorry if I got your question wrong but that seems to be the obvius answer

Yes I know about opening "my apps" and that's the problem.
When I click on my apps it lists all updates even if they are not currently in my app drawer.
It lists a lot of apps which I have uninstalled and no longer use or all those bloatware apps
which I have already uninstalled or froze with titanium backup.
Apps like google play music, google play games, yahoo finance, all share cast dongle,
beaming services, group play, samsung print services, google drive and many many
more bloatware apps all appear or will appear as an update even though they are either
uninstalled or frozen.
Thanks for the help.

Have you tried using titanium to disconnect the apps from the play store? If you go to the backup/restore tab and choose the app you want and swipe the page that let's you freeze or delete it has a special features page. One of the options is "detach from market". Worth a shot.
