Hello everyone,
I've been using xposed module with no problems until recently I installed the "xMultiWindow" , "Floating Window/App", and "Simple Battery Percentage" through the xposed module.
Now my phone randomly reboots every 5 minutes.. I uninstalled the apps..uninstalled xposed.. and performed a data wipe.. which works until I install xposed.. which continues to randomly reboot.
I have NO idea on how to approach this so any pointers are greatly appreciated!

how do you have installation set? to system or recovery? maybe cha ge that and try
I must say, I have *exactly* the same.
I got a brand new, stock, M8. Rooted it. It ran fine.
Then installed xposed (using TWRP) and the random rebooting started.
Tried rebooting in safe mode and doing a cache wipe, no effect.
Even after un-installing Xposed, the rebooting continued. Only a factory reset fixed it.
After the factory reset, I re-installed all my apps - phone ran fine.
Only after installing Xposed framework (no modules!) the phone starts to random reboot - again.
I have a similar issue, phone reboots every minute but only when I uninstalled Xprivacy, I tried wiping cache and dalvik cache but it didnt work, I didnt uninstall Xposed, only disabled and uninstalled Xprivacy.
but I reckon the issues are similar.
ART?
Are you guys running ART? Xposed doesn't play nice with that. Try reverting to Dalvik.

Hey,
Sorry if this not the place for posting this.
I followed this "Guide: and installed the Rom
Flashed TWRP 2.6.3 with odin from the Toolkit (selected the TWRP instead the one in the toolkit folder) FR and FS, Installed the Rom without any problem, rebooted again into dev mod, installed Google Apps, DATA WIPE, Reboot and SuperSU. Everything works grate.
The only (biggest) problem is that it crushes randomly. Cleared cache and delvik cache, after "opt apps" complete - Nothing helps. It's not a specific app it can crash on idle too. After holding power and rebooting everything come to normal
I did search on those threads but I can't find someone with this issue. Again, The OS itself crash - not an app.
Anyone can help?
Same random freezes here on my N7100.
Mine seems lock up/freeze more often when I have WiFi on.
I tried everything possible, every tweak in Android Tuner, still a no go.
At the moment, I'm on the 11/28 nightly after using Homebrew. Both present the same issue.
Just flashed 11/28. No apps installed.
Im also experience the crashes on Omnirom first dec nightly. Specially twitter. FC on launch.
I've got to say, I don't know what I did but the FC's stopped. There some minor App's getting FC's but that better then the issue.
Although maybe changing form delvik to art did something, My guess the problem is in the gapps, and after some updates the sys stabilized...
I still don't know the exact cause or the way to solve it...:S
Hello,
I have installed Xposed Framework and Xprivacy successfully in my rooted stock HTC one (m8), everything was working fine but i didnt like how xprivacy bugged me whenever I updated an app. anyways I chose to disable the module.
So I went to Xposed app, disabled Xprivacy, I also uninstalled xprivacy manually after that in android's App management.
since then the phone keeps on restarting, it restarts and functions for a minute then automatically restarts.
I restored using a Nand recovery backup and now its working fine, but I still have Xprivaxy installed.
has anyone faced this issue? Also, does someone know a safe method to uninstall Xprivacy?
Thanks

Did you check if was already installed when you did the backup? It looks weird because TWRP does a wipe before restoring data, so Xprivacy should not be there anymore. Yoy can also try to wipe manually the data partition, but you will have to start config, install & update apps again from scratch.

Try to install it again and enable the module in Xposer, restart, then disable the module in Xposer, restart once more and then try to uninstall it.
Do a full restart every time, so disable the fast boot option in energy settings.
Good luck!
right now it is installed, ill try updating then uninstalling, Fastboot is turned off for my phone.
I tried wiping cache and dalvik cache, didnt work.
I hope someone has a solution, I want to uninstall it.

This is weird, I tried to install, enable, configure and then I uninstalled without any problem.
I'm using ARHD 8.0, but it's almost totally stock.
I'll try to check what files are installed with the package, and maybe you can try to remove them manually using filemanager from TWRP.
I'm sorry, I tried a lot things and I can't replicate your problem. Even if I try to uninstall it with the module enabled in Xposer does it works.
I've been reading at: https://sourcegraph.com/github.com/M66B/XPrivacy the uninstall methods and are the same we tried.
If you want to uninstall XPrivacy, you have two options:
1. Disable XPrivacy in the Xposed installer
2. Uninstall Xposed using the Xposed installer
I think I can't help you with this
Maybe you could try to uninstall and reinstall Xposer and see what happens...

Thanks for your assistance mate, I uninstalled Xprivacy again, this time I didnt disable the module in Xposed before uninstalling the App, I just uninstalled Xprivacy, it worked, no issues
So I guess an advise for anyone disabling or uninstalling Xprivacy would be to take a NAND backup of the phone before uninstalling incase the restart issue happens.
Thanks to all.
Great! I'm glad finally you get rid of that module! :highfive:
Make a Nandroid backup is always recommended for everyone having rooted devices, it takes less than 5 mins and saves a life... :good:
I just bumped my lollipop rom and install xposed then I noticed that my phone shows out "android is upgrading" on every reboot. Is there any way to fix this as it is a little annoying...:crying:
Sorry for my broken English
+1 !
afaik its just a side effect of using the alpha build of xposed. sure, it can get annoying, but having xposed and this 'issue' is better than, well you know.

This activity tends to get lengthier after every reboot. I've found that once it "seems" to loop in the "Android is upgrading" screen, to remove the battery, boot into recovery, wipe the Dalvik cache, and reboot. It will go through the lengthy procedure of updating software, but will boot a WHOLE lot faster after that.
There is a fix to that. I have the same problem that started after installing xposed on my s4 lollipop. I was able to get rid of the "androidis upgrading". the one that shows you how many apps are being installed. Now, it goes straight to "starting apps". This is not a complete fix though, since it should boot straight up but at least, it's a lot faster now. Use lucky patcher then use the option "remove all odex". That fixed the issue for me. Though not 100% fixed.

I tried this method but it didn't work, and there are still 3 apps that are being "optimized" on every boot. Is there any way to find out which apps these are?

Try to change the version of Xposed installer and see if that fixes the problem. By the way, the problem is 100% fixed now on my phone. I used lucky patcher to remove all odex files. I also installed another version of Xposed. The latest one did not work well so used an older version.

Which Xposed version did you use? I'm on v68 right now which is the latest. I had v67 and it did the same thing.
V66. I tried2 later versions but this one worked for me.
I have a Oneplus One but I have the same issue. Every damn boot. Android is starting. optimizing app 1 of 121.
I also have the latest version of xposed.
I know not the forum for the OPO but just thought I'd let you guys know other phones face it too and hopefully find a solution to this.
I had to make a really important call and my phone restarted all on its own. That's bad enough but add to the random restart sitting for 5 minutes to wait for android to finish optimizing

I tried v66 like you recommended and the same thing happened. So it must be something else that solved your problem. I guess I can live with it though.

Trying this now...my G3 crashes for whatever reason from time to time after my Tasker that disables bluetooth as soon as the USB power is disconnected from the car.
Currently on version 79. Patched it with Lucky Pater and removed all odex; rebooted (got stuck but battery out & booted normally).
I'll report if there are any further issues
Okay it's very odd it seems like there's an issue with my LG G3 disconnecting bluetooth from the stock head unit in '13 WRX. If I try pushing the power button off on the radio then shut off the engine (Tasker shuts down bluetooth) then I don't seem to have this issue with the phone crashing. I've yet to have the phone crash if it's on A/C power and Tasker performs the same function.
Got my 5x for Christmas. I immediately unlocked and flashed TWRP, and started playing with ROMs. Once I settled on cyanogenmod, I decided to flash xposed. After flashing it, upon boot I got stuck in a loop of "Unfortunately, NFC service has stopped." errors.
Since then, I have been troubleshooting on the factory image. I formatted everything, even the sdcard, and then flashed the factory image. I then booted, then flashed and booted TWRP.
From this point, I have tried, in every order imaginable, flashing SuperSU (systemless and traditional), flashing xposed, and installing the Xposed Installer apk. No matter what I do, I get the NFC error loop. I have also tried both xposed v78, v79, and v79 dirty flashed over v78.
The only thing which has been even mildly successful has been flashing the original 6.0 factory image and then following the above steps. This results in a working xposed installation, but then upgrading to 6.0.1 and reflashing xposed causes the loop again.
From what I can tell by reading here and on /r/nexus5x, plenty of other people are having this issue, and no one seems to have the actual cause or solution. So please, if you have seen this issue, post the circumstances (be as specific as you can with versions, orders, etc), as well as your personal solutions. And if anyone has the true cause and/or solution please post that as well.

v78 doesn't work for me either. I've seen a number of people mention that v79 causes this error, and that reverting to v78 will fix it. However, I cannot get either v78 or v79 to work.

I just clean flashed mmb29q, tried to install v80, and got the nfc bootloop. Only way to fix was to flash the xposed uninstaller.
Tried this: checking "Enable su during boot" in the SuperSU app, then reflashing Xposed. No luck.
And nfc was not on prior to flashing xposed the first time.
Xposed v79 worked for me fine on mmb29p.
I used supersu 2.66 on mmb29p, and 2.67 on mmb29q.
Busybox installed?
Disabled NFC in settings first before flashing xposed
I got this too on MMB29Q with NFC enabled in settings. I disabled NFC in settings prior to flashing on the next try and flashing xposed v80 worked fine. After installing xposed framework, I was able to turn on NFC in settings again and all is well.
Go it to work. This was my path: Checked every box in SuperSu Settings tab that wasn't checked (e.g., enable multi-user, enable su during boot, etc.), installed the Xposed apk, flashed Xposed zip in TWRP.
Setup: MMB29Q, TWRP 3.0, SuperSU 2.67
I have the same issue trying to use layers manager. Wonder if it's related
I've installed v77 all the way up to v82, all with the same result while also trying everything mentioned before
UPDATE: I've checked literally everything now, including multi-user (didnt think that was necessary before), everything works now on v80
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
Bought my 5T last week (used) and immediately I installed magisk to root and xposed. Since then though I'm facing bizarre issues that come and go.
I was unable to add a Gmail account from settings as Google play services would crash
The Facebook messenger app would crash as soon as I open it, I downloaded the lite app and its OK.
The most common issue im seeing is Instagram crashing when I try to swap accounts. I can try to swap account, the app will hang and eventually crash. I try again and it will crash. But like an hour later it will be fine...
Also clearing dalvick and cache from TWRP seems to get it to work immediately.
I've had other things crash to which is strange as on my OP2 I had no such behaviour. The phone is lightning fast but these crashes are super annoying.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? Not sure if reinstalling Oxygen OS could help and what's the most efficient way to do this while getting magisk/xposed back.
I have a 5T that has magisk installed. I did not install xposed yet and am not facing any if these issues. Maybe try uninstalling Xposed and cleaning cache?

I've got xposed 90.2-beta3(systemless) installed, version 3.1.5
Android 8.1.0 - Oxygen OS 5.1.2
Magisk manager is 5.7.0 and installed version is 16.4 (though it says latest version is 16.0)
Only have 3 xposed modules actually installed.. ChromePie, SnapTools Beta and Xinsta. I could disable the xposed status for a few days and see how I get on, I assume that is enough without uninstalling it? Not sure

yeah exactly, like I uninstalled xinsta but it didn't stop it crashing (sometimes) when switching accounts... Even Magisk just crashed a minute ago as soon as I opened it to get the version, it was fine when I re-opened it.
Substratum I've never heard of before
Magisk modules all I have is Xposed framework and Youtube Vanced

Nope
I did an OTA update which caused the phone to not be rooted and went back to stock recovery.
I used it for a few days and had no crashes, especially Instagram when switching accounts. Yesterday I flashed TWRP and installed Magisk root again and since have had crashes again... odd.
