I think there is a good news for FonePad 7 users. As most of you guys may have already came to know that there has been a great update from android 4.3 to 4.4.4 has been released by Asus for Nexus 7 and other phones. So i guess FonePad7 users may expect KitKat update to their tablets in near future.
Lets have more discussion about this.

Android 4.4 KitKat Update is Coming to Ascend P6
Most of you might know that Google has released the latest version of Android called Android 4.4 “Kitkat” just a few days ago. Android 4.4 brings optimizations to the current Android 4.3 jellybean and sources claim Android 4.4 is much faster than the Android 4.3. Android 4.4 also includes a replacement for the current dalvik virtual machine called “Android ART” (Android RunTime). This new feature said to improve application responsiveness by 100%.
So getting back to the topic, Huawei Device, chairman “Yu Chengdong” mentioned that they are working to bring Android 4.4 Kitkat update to the Ascend P6 by the end of January next year. Information about this were posted on Sina Weibo and Baidu forums.
According this information it looks like Huawei won’t bother with Android 4.3 and they will provide Android 4.4 firmware update with Emotion UI 2.0. Huawei hasn’t mentioned about their plans for the other devices yet. But when thinking about current situation on Huawei firmware updates its really unlikely that the other Huawei smartphones will ever get Android 4.4. And its worth noting that if Ascend P6 gets Android 4.4 update, initially it will be only for the Chinese version of the phone. International update can take few months more.

Galaxy tab 3 will never get a update to 5.0 official maybe you will see it in a unofficial way like CM 12 or so.
I am glad I never bought my tab3 7 as it came with my mobile, the limitations it has compared to my S4 are huge.
Is there a developer who is able and wants to develop a 5.0 lollipop rom for tab 3 7.0? 8.0 and 10.1 versions have it. But 7.0 is stuck to kit kat. Maybe you could do a porting if it'is more simple to do. Sorry for my bad English

In the greedy android manufactorers world, you dont get updates fast. They want you to buy a completely new phone to get the newest android version. LG G4c is really really low priority because it's cheap. If you want updates (more than one major android version), you need to buy nexus phones OR jump the train to CRapple
It's not completely the manufacturers fault. The carrier has to tweak it too so it's compatible with their crapware.
It goes from Google, to the manufacturer, then on to the carrier.
Hi guys, I received an old Asus Fonepad K004 with Android 4.1.
Do you know if there is a way to update it with a newer ROM (like Andorid 7 or 8)?
If yes, do you know where I can find the ROM and the guide to do the update?
Thanks in advance!
