Maybe you have modified the Backup files (and that is why you are getting MD5 mismatch). [emoji52]

Okay, I think the problem is due to different recovery.
When you flashed a new ROM, I guess it changed the Kernel too (and hence recovery is changed).
SOLUTION:
Flash back the Kernel of your old ROM (the one you used to BACKUP) and try to RESTORE..
Hope that will work for you!
Good luck!
thnks fr ur sugstn
next time i will follow this method

Dear all, please help. i have been using hybrid ROM 2.1 with terma kernel, sd 2nd partition n a2sd. after about 3months, 2 hours ago when i was trying restore my stock ROM backup with cwm by madteam it shows an error message while restoring. i m sure that i have followed all da steps correctly. what to do now? please help me out.
You only can get back to stock with odin, CWM cant acces .rfs filesystem, only ext2/3/4. So reflash firmware with odin.
Don't forget to hit thanks

it is not an odin package, just a cwm backup which i made before start to use a custom ROM.

Yes i know: cwm doesnt have acces to the filesystem .rfs so the only way to get back to stock is download a odin firmware package on sammobile.com and flash that with odin.
You cannot restore a backup of stock rom after flashing a custom rom.

if you have backed up your original kernel before flashing terma's kernel, then flash it and restore your cwm back up
Buddy m also gettin d same prblm

You'll get MD5 mismatch error when you use CWMs not meant for your device. Use MadTeam's or Skin's CWM to backup/restore and there'll be no MD5 mismatch.

make sure that the back up inside your cwm folder has no spaces in case you renamed it
ex:
correct --> my_backup
wrong ---> my backup

Get your stock kernel here. Flash it through Odin as PDA. You can restore your Stock ROM after you've got back to stock kernel.

Which CWM did you use to make the backup? Backups made with Madteam's and Skin's don't have MD5 mismatch problem.
I have already a copy of the original stock ROM on sd card which I want to bring it back on my Gio. When I try to restore it through CWM, it gives an error that there is error with the md5. I even tried it with Titanium and it gives error too.
How else can I restore this stock back on my phone?
The backup probably got wiped so you can only get stock using odin or one flashable through recovery from here
I did make a copy of the backup on my laptop too, and the same I have put on the sd card to restore it.
I tried to restore it from CWM but it failed.
How can I restore this backup (there are two folders backup + download) by Odin?
You can't restore backups using odin.
I guess you want full stock?
Grab official firmware for you country on sammobile.com
And search the flash instructions on the forums
Thanks for the suggestion.
If its not possible to restore with the backup, then what can it be done with the back up we take?

If it isn't working the backup is useless, delete it and free up your sd card storage
You can't backup it by cmw.

he has 6 posts, he's just trolling to get 10 I guess, and talking complete ****.
you can use ADB to backup, pull system.rfs, recovery.img, boot.img from a running phone, create a .tar, and create md5sum with cygwin, so you can flash it with odin, , but I don't know if you can also pull your data/cache partition and so have a backup..
edit:
your current backup has a md5 fail I think, because you moved it to your laptop and it got corrupted.
you can remove .md5 and extract it?

Hi guys
I'm having g some weird issues I have a gs3 from bell. I rooted it and been flashing all kinds of Roms and never having any issues going back to restoring stable Roms until I decided to try twrp recovery but I noticed that I couldn't restore anything backed up by cwm so I flashed cwm though Rom manager and since then whenever I try to backup a Rom it finishes then when I try to restore them they say md5 mismatch. So after a lot of research I managed to notice that cwm isn't making any nandroid md5 files.
So my question is have I flashed a bad version of cwm through Rom manager or may I have just screwed my phones files somehow I was thinking of uprooting my phone and rerooting it but I don't know if that will fix this. Please help
*deleted*
Good luck
Just so u know i've read through that 3 times already I don't have that issue ... I dOnt have a nandroid md5 like showing up in any of my backups so thanks for nothing if you would have read my post you would have understood That already

Hi, I am still having the same problem as you, and I bought Cwm touch from rom manager and i created a backup and when i restore it it says md5 mistmatch.. So did you get a different older version of cwm? How did you end up using the backup that you couldn't open? Thanks for your help
Problem #1: Yellow List on top of my home screen (Factory Mode?)
Problem #2: Emergency Calls Only (w/ simcard)
Problem #3: Wrong IMEI and Serial Number
Problem #4: No efs backup I think. Have nandroid backup of past rom.
Been reading many threads about IMEI efs none was successful.

Post #19 said to flash stock rom with other files. Used this:
http:https://hotfile.com/dl/180451349/e1694c1/N7100XXDLJ2_OXA_FACTORY.zip.html//
Tried flashing via Odin 3.09, always stuck at SetupConnection. Flashed all files BTW.
Any suggestions?
For flashing try another Odin Version. I had the same problem with my Galaxy S. I've just chosen a higher version

I googled odin versions i think 3.09 is the latest. also tried 3.07 and 1.85 but all gave the same result.
flashing with the pit file fails (0 success / 1 fail). it also corrupts the phone giving the "firmware update encountered a problem, connect to kies" message.
after restoring im back to Post #1.

If u have nandroid backup, restore that no matter on which rom you are. Just wipe data and cache before restoring. After restoration take efs backup and flash stock rom or different rom.
Nandroid backup is best for restore efs.
sent from my GT-N7100. Press thanks if I helped..
