Well, getting my One X screen replaced by a local company didn't go very well. Ended up with one of the cheapo ones where the digitizer is not bonded to the LCD (at all), so you get an "inverse bubble" in the middle of the screen if you press on it (to clean it for example). Now it's sticking and stops the touchscreen working! Clearly I will get a refund, but now I need alternatives. Tried a few other repair companies, but none will say if they use a proper machine-bonding method to join the LCD and digitizer.
Have any of you sent your One X off to HTC for a screen replacement? They refuse to give any kind of quote over the phone - just that if I have it picked up and looked at, and I then decide the repair cost is too high, they charge £30.00 to return the phone.
Alternatively, do any of you know a supplier (that ships worldwide), that has the genuine bonded digitizer+LCD screen? ebay is full of the cheap ones that are separate.

I'm pretty sure HTC charge around £170 for a new display, although they may charge more given it has already been repaired poorly. As far as I know they get the displays already bonded as one unit.
To be honest, you might have been better off selling it on Ebay for spares and purchasing another brand new phone, there is one on Ebay with a completely smashed screen at almost £200.00 with 12 bids and still time to go, so they are in demand even when damaged.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III i747 [http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att]. I tried to repair it but the glue I used to previously repair the glass was too strong and the digitizer came with it... Trying to power it and all I see is green light a part of the screen and nothing but the phone vibrate on start-up. I think the motherboard is still good.
I looked for local classified for broken screen (or used S3) but so far I wasn`t able to grab one and some times the seller are asking very high price (120$) for a phone I risk to break. I was thinking just buying a working one in good condition but that`s 200$. The idea is to swap the motherboard and sell the motherboard un-used.
I decided to check on ebay There are a lot of cheap bad esn phone on ebay with excellent screen condition but these are sprint phones (SPH-L710).
I wonder if I could still swap the motherboard and have a roger i747 phone? That would be the cheapest and easiest option for me if that`s the case.
Also, would the display work on the i747? After some research it was said some where that a T-mobile can accept a sprint display - would it be the case for a roger (ATT) S3?
It seems like it is possible to switch the mother board but I will need to also switch the antenna. The display exchange would probably be the easiest.

It was a slow but painful death my phone had, but I wish to revive it. The problem is finding the digitizer to replace the broken one and the process of doing so.
Is there a place I can find cheap digitizers?
You can find them all over the place online. Haven't seen a cheap one though. I afraid your probably not gonna find one under $130 or so. (I think that's how much I saw them going for, I may be a little off though).
Search Google and you tube for s3 disassembly and repair for how to's.

If I can make a suggestion, I actually work in a phone repair shop and these are very common repairs we do. You'd be much better off getting an oem oled and digi assembly. Its much easier to repair than separating the digitizer from the oled and then reapplying a new digi over the old oled. It won't be cheap but its safer.
Best of luck
my fone was dropped on floor n got cracks on screen .. plz check pics ... screen is working fine .. so is this only front glass broken n can i just get the front glass replaced or its a bigger spending ... checked glass on ebay india its just 1499 rupees .
forget that screen only replacement its not happening unless you have specialist tools your going to have to buy a new screen and digitiser and connect it to the phone

Happened to me once with my s4, the glass was cracked but the amoled panel was working just fine. I decided it was worth taking risk and decided to leave to a man in the mobile market. The man said there's no guarantee, the panel can get damaged during removal with the help of heat and re-applying and that he will charge 2000 pkr regardless of the outcome (glass + labour). In the end it worked for me. I was in your place I would take the gamble.
You guys are forgetting something: OnePlus does not sell parts to anyone! So anything you see on ebay is not official.
The only way to get official replacement parts is to send the phone to OnePlus service center.
Screen replacement costs about 150€ IIRC (covert that to your currency).

m not gonna do that myself .. just asking for approx costs like will i have to replace the screen as well or they will replace just glass ... will definitely take it to customer care as getting repaired outside will void my warranty ... so just asking to have an estimate of the cost or repair

Ask oneplus, my friend replaced his glass only with a fake glass one that broke in his pocket, best bet it to bring it to the customer support and get a glass screen protector asap.

Happened to me 1 month ago and sent to Oneplus for repair it: got it back after 1 week from Poland with an expence of 90 Euro in total.
Consider that the cost include transportation from my home in Italy to Poland and viceversa with UPS.
Looking if there was someone else in Italy repairing it, and I found one with a cost of 220 Euro (already tested with a OP2 of a colleague of mine)... sparepart costs 190 Euro.
Honestly, if possible for yourself, I would highly suggest you to open a ticket in OnePlus.
replaced few units "glass only", it takes time, but customers is happy with result and price
just foned oneplus ppl n they said full lcd needs to b replaced :/ n cost is 12000 rupees about 180-190 dollars ...
alone glass from ebay costs just 1500 rupees about 22-25 dollars ..
should i get it repaired from outside ?
what i think is its just front glass thats broken but scared that if i get it repaired n after removing glass it comes out that screen also damaged then i will loose warranty also by getting repaired from outside and have to buy screen also

Glass only, it absorbed all the force.. But getting glass of a sandwiched amoled panel is tricky.. Really tricky. Watch it on youtube.. Its better to replqce the whole screen in my opinion. Just send it to oneplus imo.

bro use the servify Accidental damage that came with the device it'll be done for freee
Anyone see this ?
link
i want to know if someone try this on the OP3 , my screen is broke and i want to replace for this ..
its say LCD , not AMOLED .
the color black in LCD be like the black color on a IPS screen?
If screen is working fine, reacts to touch, then glass only repair can be done.
@SunnyGrewal11, I think you are Indian and if you registered for accidental damage protection plan provided by servify then rest assured.
Because under this plan servify provides screen replacement for just nominal cost of Rs. 1000. yes only Rs.1000.
Contact servify for more information.
======
1 month back i also cracked screen due to accidental fall. I just contacted servify. they properly guided me to file a claim for repair.
To file claim you have to download app "OnePlus care By servify" from play store.
Procedure to file claim is given in app itself and its simple to understand.
After providing necessary documents I taken device to authorized repair center ( oneplus partnerd with several 3rd party repair centers across country).
I paid just Rs.1000 via app.
I got device repaired in only 4 days.

If someone will decide to teardown and sell by parts, i need battery cover and pls. contact me...
I dropped my OP3 on the concrete last week. I had the original sandstone case, but the impact was very hard so the case corner was damaged and it went through. Now there is little scratch on a phone's corner. Without the case, the device would have been shattered.
I'm now worried about my phone. How long was the height of fall. Also you should try contacting servify.

do you have any recommendations on where to order front glass replacements for the OnePlus 3? all the parts i've found so far sound a little doubtful...is there any source with quality glass comparable to the original?
Comparable to original, is only cutted straight from original lcd assembly using wire. All replacements "china oem", "hq" "a++" will not be the same as original which cames with brand new phone. Sometimes in eBay peoples selling bronken lcd assembly with good condition glass.
Hi Z1 Compact users! I'd like to ask you what do you this.
Some time ago I broke my Z1C LCD. I decided to replace it manually. I bought a cheap one and replace it. Unfortunately screen's quality was poor - very soon I broke touch panel. It doesn't fit corectly to frame as weel. Also battery cover glue weakened so it's not wter proof anymore.
I deicided to send my phoone to authorized Sony Servic Center in Poland - W-Support.
I received their opinion - They said that PCB needs to be replaced as well due to software ingenertion! Lol, nice.I didn't know that rooting and deboating my phone may cause it won't work properly.
Do you think they are right and PCB needs REALLY to be replaced? Costs of this one operation is about 150% of factory new Z1C
In their opinion it needs to be replaced not because I could broke it somehow during screen raplacing buy "DUE TO SOFTWARE CHANGES"
No, they just scammed you.
Unless you physically broke some connector during LCD replace there is absolutely no reason to replace entire PCB.
Also you should avoid authorized sony service centers at all costs (especially in Poland!), unless your phone is still on warranty period. They'll just charge you 3 times more than any other professional center.
