What mircoSD Card are you using for Note 3 Neo? - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which brand are you using?

Any affect on the Battery Life?

Am using 32 GB Class 4 card by transcend which I purchased 2 yrs ago [emoji24]
I personally would recommend a class 10 though by SanDisk or Samsung and I don't think it affects battery life on your phone as I've a lot(almost full) of music , videos , pics stored on the SD card

It's the best value for money for an android device.

Apart from SanDisk being VERY expensive in my country.. They are really really hard to find. Just like Samsung's 64 gb models. lol

Which brand are you using? Strontium
Which one works the BEST? Strontium really surprised me with its performance
Which one did you try and failed on you? Sandisk, I was Sandisk for past few years but I was disappointed when one of the 32GB cards started giving problems. It happened few times.
16? 32? or 64? I am using 32GB Strontium and 64GB in my Galaxy note 8.0
Any affect on the Battery Life?
In terms of battery life, strontium didn't give any negative effect. Both my note 3 neo and note 8.0 have given me excellent battery life of around 5-7 days with SOT of 6 to 7 hrs on note 3 neo and 9:30 to 11 hrs on note 8.0 consistently.
I highly recommend strontium if anyone is planning to purchase micro SD cards. transfer speeds are excellent. They are absolutely worth the money. Prices have dropped down a bit. And most importantly they didn't give any problems to me so far in two devices.

I have such one from Amazon. It' s from a company I never heard of but works in my SGS II since I unpacked it perfectly and stable. Has lifelong guarantee.
Video rec to sd is nice and smooth and fast, divx videos stored on this class 10 msd play perfect.
Just search in Amazon.....

Lexar Class 10 32Gb FTW. Got one and its brilliant.
Don't think a class 10 is as fast as you think it should be, I have a samsung 8gb class 6 that will probably out perform most class 10 cards. Why pay the extra

I just checked the app, if you do not mount the sd card it tests /mnt/sdcard (the internal memory) but if you do mount the sd card it does test /mnt/sdcard/external_sd. For me the app works.
I think testing on a pc with a card reader is the only way to get comparable results. I don't trust the phones doing a proper job on this. My numbers above are done using H2testw 1.4.
My 32GB class 4 is 9MB/s Write and 14MB/s Read.
I'm quite happy with that.

Recommendations for Class 10 16gb micro sd?!

I used to have a patriotic class 10 signature 16gb card that jus died. Apparently, I took advantage too many times of just unplugging with out disconnecting first. Stupid self.
Now I would like to replace it but I don't necessarily want the same card I feel the class 10 was performing more like class 8 or below on my Epic Touch.
Does anyone have a class 10 16gb that perform top notch on their epic touch?
I also curious does deleting a picture causes a stop in playing music for everyone else with their epic touch. I just can't recall this ever happening on my evo before.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Edit : Apparently, I just read some reviews on the patriot sd card and for some reason with Android phones and tablets they sometimes go corrupt and need to be reformatted. There is also an occasional freeze as well. It appears then these cards can't be used right now until they fix this. Just wanted to post this in case others were experiencing issues with their patriot sd card
I've heard great things about these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058GH4U0/ref=ox_ya_os_product
They were sold out for a whole month so it's possible they may sell out again. Check out the reviews

SanDisk is the best. I been using this one for over a year between 2 phones and never a problem. Class 4 but plenty fast.

$30 at Amazon < NEW 32GB
SanDisk 16GB Class 4 for $8 is refurb (I would rather go new, but it may be fine)
I have many SanDisk cards and they routinely test as double their stated class. (Class 4 card tests as class 8). I have some cards that are stated as clas 10 and routinely test at under their stated class (Class 10 card tests as class 6)
So I would not put too much stock in their stated ratings.
Buy SanDisk, you will not be disappointed.
If you need one that says Class 10 on it, try this one from Samsung:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MicroSDHC-Memory-Komputerbay-adaptor/dp/B00698ZUHK/ref=pd_cp_e_3
Microcenter sales them for 25 bucks. They have their own brand. I believe it I'd made by Kingston. I have been using out for 4 months and had no issues.
On my Epic mobile phone.
You really don't need to spend the extra money on a class 10 card for your phone.

I have two Wintec 32GB Class 10 cards and they work fine for me. One is in my ET4G and one is in my Nook Color. Not a stitch of problem from either and they're both about a year old. Granted, they don't test out at 10, but they are faster than a SanDisk Class 2.

Recomend me an SD Card

I'm looking to buy an SD card (in the UK) but having never bought one i dont know which to get since there's about 50,000 choices. I dont really want to spend much more than £15 and im sure 16gb will be enough.
If anyone can offer any suggestions i'd really appreciate it.
buy a cheap one and watch it break... get a decent branded one - i have samsung class 10

like bigmrb says, get a decent branded one and forget about it

Depends on the manufacturer, i also have a Sandisk 8GB class 4 and it is quite fast but if your really concerned about speed then get a class 10, only reason i got a class 10 is that it was on sale but i just wanted a 32GB card regardless if it was class 4 or 10

Very true !
I got the Silicon Power 32GB Class 4 microSD. Haven't had a problem with it, was cheap (AUD $44) but is quite slow (about 2-3MB/s) which is expected from a Class 4 card.
Btw class 10 won't make huge difference in ur phone compared to class 4 but when copying to pc its a massive difference

My Lexar Class 10 is, as expected, twice as quick at transferring files as my old Sandisk class 4.

3 class 10 sdhc cards only one is really lol

I have there class 10 32 GB SDHC cards - one from my old t-bolt the one in my gfs SG II and the one in my note.
I ran a bench on my PNY and sure enough it did not come near class 10.
So I got all three togehter - backed them up - did a full fat 32 format (not quick) on win 7 and tested all three. On the pc and in the note -
PC Via ATTO
Note via antutu
Of the three brands I had Lexar, PNY and Sandisk - all three supposed to be class 10.
Only the lexar - which was sitting in my unused t-bolt - actually ran class 10 posting 13.6 MB/s writes and 22 MB/s reads..
The others not so much - both the Sandisk and PNY barely managed class 6 writes....
makes me happy for having a 32gb lexar class 10 card then
Just got a sandisk uhs-1 32GB not any faster than my class 10. dissapointed again.

that is not true at all - uhs-1 is 50-70 mb/s in uhs-1 supported devices which Samsung has said the note does support.
testing some more - added in samsung class 6 16 gb I got cheap at microcenter on sale.
Ummm. wow. The class 6 samsung runs as fast as any class 10 or uhs-1 I have tested. Faster in fact than everything but the lexar. Just shy of 11 mb/sec writes in my note and 27.1 mb reads - fast enough for hd video recording. I may order a class 10 sammy to see what it can do!
just ran it through Crystal Disk Mark - here is the results - again this is a cheaper class 6 card

Antutu benchmark has a built in file read/write test.
On antutu my n7000 gets I think 10Mb/sec write and 22MB/sec reads
My 2.5 year old class 6 16GB uSD card gets 4.5MB writes and 14MB reads in the note.
sd tools from the market as well will test your sd card. I do a full format before I test though. Framentation and data can affect your results.

Because it's not true: UHS-1 does not equate to Class 10.
On a device that supports UHS-1, it will be very much faster than Class 10.
On a device that does not support UHS, it won't.

I ended up with a Strontium 64GB SD Card Class 10 U1. I think I'm quite dumb to believe I needed a super fast card to record videos in 4K. What was it thinking? A pro camera? Turns out, the phone compresses it to 6MB per second. And it's working just fine.
I might get a bigger capacity in the future. 64GB will suffice for now.
