I have a question about the camera. My camera shuts down and returns to the main screen when I take a photo and click the check mark.
Is this a setting of the phone/camera etc. or is it due to a problem?

" when I take a photo and click the check mark." what do you mean?Are you on sense or gpe? there is no check mark in sense.when you take a photo it returns to camera's interface.

Had the same issue and discovered it was because I was running Google Now Launcher. You need to change back to BlinkFeed to prevent this from happening. Go to SETTINGS - > PERSONALISE->HOME SCREEN and change.

I do not have any of the issues in the poll but do have the following:
When I leave an app back to the home screen, the home screen shows 'loading' for 5-10 seconds before I can use the device.
Popping and stuttering in audio playback when using tune-in radio with beats enabled.
Periodically the phone seems to 'kill all' applications (except the one with current focus) including wallpaper, streaming music (last. Fm or tune in).

Some icons for games that I've added to a games folder disappear and I cant re add them because they dont show up in the menu when I hit the 'add' button. I can see the apps when I go into the Apps Drawer though.
another bug: the text is misaligned at the top left label in clock application when you change settings>display & gestures>font size>small
and the music stuttering sometimes when beats is enabled
and the previews on basically all pictures taken with stock camera app are corrupted, like the bottom portion of the picture thumbnail, however the picture itself is fine. when viewing the picture on a pc the thumbnail is still corrupted, picture still fine.

is there, 5th from bottom
got 2 devices replaced for camera bug in 4:3 mode(unable to process images >3mb,image appears blank),my friend replaced his one x with xperia S after noticing the issue in his device also.......but my new replacement also have the same problem,so it seems more devices have that problem(u can check only if image size exceeds 3mb in 4:3 mode)

Software, if it was hardware then the button wouldn't perform correctly. The button does perform correctly it's just the software appears to think its been pressed twice.
realised the camera's touch focus doesnt work well. hit and miss, especially with macro shots (even with macro mode).
Experienced camera screen flickering today several times and i had to close before i could take a shot. Wonder if it was due to the low battery state while i was taking pictures (<30% left)

yea it's a vbulletin poll "feature", talked to mike and can't do anything about it...
unless we reset it and lose all votes...and start all over...

That indicates that Sense crashed, and is restarting. It should be added to the poll.

could be related to the first issue on the poll, check if you have any htc agenda widget on any homescreen.
Geez that's a lot of bugs for a flagship device.

The secure camera widget on the lockscreen for SlimBean doesn't work correctly.
It loads up the GUI elements, but then hangs without loading the camera feed (black screen).
It is then unresponsive, however I can exit with the back key.
My second problem is that when you use the default camera app to take a picture in a separate app, after you take a picture and are asked to confirm the picture, it doesn't pause on the picture you take, rather just becomes a live feed.

What about the fact that after you take a picture within a separate app (using camera), that it doesn't pause on the picture you're taking?
I have the latest CM 10.1 d2spr nightly and I'm noticing that when I take a picture (either with the camera app or another app that has camera support), I have no preview of it after it's taken.
For instance, in the Facebook app, once you take a photo, you're given a checkmark and an X to decide whether or not you want to accept or reject the taken photo. With mine, I take the picture, the screen flashes to indicate the photo's been taken, but the on-screen image continues in camera mode. So I have no idea what the picture I've just taken looks like.
Is everybody's like this or just mine and there's a setting I haven't noticed to change yet?

I have the same problem, apparently the solution is to use a custom camera app for those in-app photos and use the native app to take regular pictures... I'm still trying to figure out how though
Hi.. maybe i'm missing something (very probable), but i can't seem to find out if it's possible to have both buttons on the camera screen at once, for taking a photo or starting a video recording.
I've attached three pics to show what i'm on about.
1st shows M8 camera screen. Only button is to take a picture.
2nd shows M8 dual shot screen, on here it's possible to do both, take a pic or start a video.
3rd is from the One X camera screen. On it it's also possible to do both from the same screen.
Is it possible to get both options on screen on the M8? or do i have to keep switching between photo & video mode in the menu? which is a bit annoying if i want to quickly take a picture but have forgotten to switch to photo mode!

That'll be a no then
By going to video mode (press the 4 circles in bottom right of the screen and select video), you can start recording video, and after you record a while, 2-3 sec, a camera button (that captures images while recording) appears under the stop button.
I don't know if there is any other way to get them both simultaneously.
The second pic is dual capture mode. This mode allows to use front and back camera at the same time not take a pic and video. You can see the red box in the corner which is the front camera image.

What i meant is that the buttons to take a picture or start recording a video are both on screen.
What i hoped for was a way to have it like the last pic from the One X, so that as soon as you start the camera up you can have photo & video buttons on screen.. but it seems as if that's not possible, maybe because of the two cameras on the back of the M8?

What about the Zoe option? You can take pictures with it or you can hold the "capture" button in for 3 seconds or so and it starts recording a video.

There already is that option in camcorder mode. As soon as you start recording the camera button becomes available for taking pictures.

This isn't exactly the best option since you lose any ability to use the duo camera effects if you take pictures with Zoe. Does anyone know of any mods that bring back the photo capture and video capture buttons on the stock Sense 6 camera UI screen at the same time?
I open up the the gallery application on my LG G3 it shows pictures but, when I click on a photo to make it fullscreen, it stucks , it shows me it is loading the photo and but the photo is not completinig loading. What should I do?

Happening with all photos? Could be an issue with a corrupt photo file.

Yep, it happens on every photo file. BOth on SD and Internal Memory.
Try clearing the data for the Gallery app from Settings > App > All > Gallery to see if that helps.
My screen touch is working fine on my LG G3. But wenever am on my camera or gallery I am not able to use my screen touch to access settings on gallery and camera. But the screen works jus fine in other areas.

Factory reset might solve your problem. Or just switch to fulmics.
