I have a T-Mobile SGH-M919, and recently when ever I make/receive a call using cell signal there is no sound. I can'r hear them and they can't hear me. However whenever I cake/receive a call using wifi, it works like a charm.
This is the 2nd replacement and the thing is happening again. I have downgraded/upgraded all rainbow colors of modem.bin. I even went to the stock 4.2.2 modem.bin, unlocked, cleared nvram, rebuilt nvram, restored nvram to no avail.
What can be preventing my phone from producing/capturing sound during calls over cell? It works perfectly over WiFi

Neither, all official software.
I was trying to SIM unlock by downgrading the baseband, and then upgrading it.
Its most likely a hardware problem. Your warranty should cover it.

GPS on device unexpectedly turns on ????
Hello everyone, greetings from my cozzy bed lol
No, serious talk.
During this last week i have noticed how my gps keep turning itself on, i an very paranoid when it comes to whats on my phone. The fact that it turns it self on at random moments
Was very strange to me. I recalled of any apps i installed., google settings, location settings, i even downgraded my Maps app because had just recently updated it. Since the problem was with the gps i assummed it could be a bug in the app. Which i find it is not. Now i have noticed that it comes on when:
*Placing a call
*Plugging usb cabke to pc/ac adpater
*Turning data connection on after being off forna while
*sometimes even after the phone gets unlocked
Now whilebmost of the times i unlock the device and its already on, i have dropped my OGP but that shouldnt be the cause as the problem is
Software related not hardware. It has been about 3 days now with this issue and i
Have grown a frustration towards it. I even thought the phone was messing up and almost trew it against the concrete when ibwas walking outside.
It really annoys me to have to be watching its state while i try to do something else
I wondered if anyone else has this same issue and if they were able to fix it.
Please help me with this bug.
This seems to happen randomly, it did it to me, I had to factory reset my phone to get it to stop. I then had it happen again so I flashed the original modem from the non value pack update and it never happened again, don't know if that was a quinky dink or it coincides with it.

Mine also shows the GPS on frequently and randomly when at idle. Probably more so than any other phone I've had prior.

Strange never have GPS coming on if I don't explicit select it. Seems like an app or something is causing that issue.

I'm thinking it's probably Google Now. The real oddity is the amount of time it stays on for while indoors. It's almost like it doesn't want to utilize AGPS for when it can't pull a line of sight GPS signal.

Actually its most likely the AT&T Carrier IQ software that's on this phone. You can disable it in the Android system processes but it comes back on within 24hrs. Does anyone know of a thread of how to get rid of Carrier IQ on a LG Phone? I briefly browsed threads on XDA but didn't see a LG based one. Looks like the new G2 also has Carrier IQ on it too but the old Optimus G does not.

The problem I'm having with every 4.3 ROM I've tried is that when I switch back to sound from vibrate, my notification sounds, ringtones, and alarms don't work. Only thing that fixes it is a reboot, but after toggling from sound to vibrate, then back to sound, it starts again. Any help? Thoughts? Ideas?

If you dirty flashed CM 10.2 on top of CM 10.1. that could be what's causing the errors. It's alway recommended to clean flash whenever there's a .1 Android update.

One of the first things I did when I started noticing problems was reflashed, so that wouldn't be the issue.. I have V4A installed, and thought maybe it was causing problems so I didn't install it when I reflashed, but that didn't help either. I'm puzzled.

You figure this out yet? Restore your EFS with the same ROM you backed it up in. ie Stock, OpTimuS, nexogen
I'll look at my ESN in I few and see if it is 8 digits. Gotta restore to stock first.

Do you have a stock backup to restore with? Try that. Either way, I'm guessing you're doing the update profile/prl also.
I know 4G/LTE has been giving me issues for a while, so I have to manually turn it on. Sucks, cuz I can get 4G, but my area is too weak to keep it. If I leave 4G on, I'll loose all reception.
On stockish roms, go to Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Network Mode, and select CDMA.
Then try update profile/prl. Maybe it'll work. Although when you update, everything reverts back to 4G if you have it, and you'll have to turn it off again.
Hope that all makes sense. :silly:

For the data? Or LGNPST.
I can't remember for sure, but LGNPST doesn't wipe data. The only thing I can think of to hopefully get your phone working again is to do a Factory reset. You'll have stock recovery now and I'm pretty sure a Factory reset will wipe everything. SD included. So save whatever files you need, then, in the root guide is how to get into stock recovery and how to navigate it. Let's hope this gets your phone working right again.

Yeah. In stock recovery it's called Factory reset. If this doesn't get you going, LGFlashtool might now that your are Factory Stock

You shouldn't need this but just in case. LGFlashtool. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443185
It uses .tot instead of .bin. You should just be able to change the extension on your bin file to .tot. But it does use a different dll. Hopefully it's, it's own DL.

This is really weird. With stock, you should get everything as far as reception. And your EFS seems intact. Maybe Sprint is working, or is having issues with the towers.
I haven't ran LGFlashtool for a long time, but doesn't that give you the Handsfree activation?
You could also try, on stock, Settings>Activate Device. Maybe?
I'm running Blue Lightning, and that's CM based. Try going to Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Preferred Network type and select 3G. See if that works. For me, if I select LTE, and I lose LTE reception, my reception will lock up and I have to either reboot or select 3G and reboot.
I'd say stay on stockish Rom's until you get this figured out. Then move on.
Other than the above, I'm at a loss.

Yes, it ran activation process automatically but no lte even after activation.. I don't think it is tower issue cause my gf's galaxy s3 and mom's note2 having lte in my house.. It is definitely my phone's problem.. Can it be an apn problem? I'd better call and ask sprint about this?
Add. Oh, I also tried cm/asop/aokp based roms, but they not even giving me 3g even though I change preferred network to 3g.. freaking weird.,

It was the same. I just got my new charger wire from amazon which fixed odin's problem and when I flashed it the audio came back which is great.
For now i guess the only way to fix the problem is to flash through odin and odin problems are due to the wire.
OK so I flashed the PAC ROM for hlte then I noticed my screen would stay asleep after every phone call forcing me to press home to wake it up pull down my notification bar and hanging up through the notification now I recently changed to the latest snapshot from cyanogenmod and flashed the latest lean kernel hoping that oy would be fixed and nope still does the same thing. Just wondering if I can fix it or is it my phone that's busted?
Also my screens is cracked pretty bad don't know of that matters any replies would be nice! Thank you

Well then I'm going to say ALWAYS MAKE A BACK UP!! then you can delete it if ur new Rom works good but u should always keep at least ONE. If you do have that one back up I would say yes, go do that or the better and easier option is to just start completely fresh with a full wipe and new Rom. Hope this helps. Its a kernel issue, and it could possibly be a cm source issue. Meaning most cm based kernels could have the hard sleep issue. So if its on one cm kernel its almost going to be on all. Since source commits are the same, just added features per kernel. I highly recommend yank 555 kernel, then you can tune your max off freq and hardlimit etc. May help you out a bit..
