Which one of those carrier ROMs are shipped with the least amount of bloatware?
Sooo... When we getting a flashable rooted knox-removed version?
These firmwares don't carrier lock our phones do they?
Anybody try custom recovery (via Odin) and root with this?

I'll pull and deknox when I get home and make a zip
Editownloading now so hopefully not much longer guys. Long long day
I installed it then philz and flashed agn kernel no problems. As far as bloatware the Rom's are all the same its the csc that sets the carrier if you explore the csc folder all the carrier files are in there so it should not set a carrier lock
I wonder if i317 can flash the bootloader as I'm tired of the 4.4 non bootloader charge bug.

Working on one now
after flashing TWRP 2.7.0.0, I flashed SuperSu update 1.8.0 via TWRP, updated supersu and removed knox crap
one thing that's odd, is that TiBu only recognized 69 of my 158 backed up apps :-/
edit --> looks like TiBu was just being a bugger, because it kept saying my backup folder wasn't writable. anyway. no issues otherwise.
\m/
downloaded the bell version but ill wait a bit till i install. I dont want any TiBu or cwm issues. Easiest way to root afterwards?
ok

i check now
Uploaded twice but AFH keeps kicking me. Aaahh. Trying again
Downloaded Bell version
So far so good, philz touch recovery flashed + SuperSU 1.94, removed all knox crap then used TIBU to debloat. Calls, Data, Wifi, Gps, and everything else working properly, no issues at all and very stable
it's not that bloated as I though (believe me you have to see any Claro Puerto Rico FW to see what real bloating is lmao)
Edit: forgot to mention that was able to restore all my appz with no issues as well
Hope this clears any questions

I just received this update alert as well.
are you using a i317m (canadian) on at&t? and did you do the update? im holding off because I know it will flash a modem and we have different ones even though im on at&t.
It is a patch for the kernel exploit and it has a new modem... its 8.5 mb I think

I figured it had a modem either way. sucks cause now we have to switch roms or go i317m stock until upadetes are out so we dont keep getting updates....or just delete the updater from the system using a root app like titanium backup (I use it to delete everything I dont want with a rom I flash) probly the easiest way right now if we dont wanna switch roms or chance an update bricking.

Do you have titanium backup pro? If not its definitely worth the few bucks to spring for it. Then instead of deleting the updater app you can freeze instead. That its still on your phone in case you ever need it for something yet it freezes it which will stop the the update pop up. I used to delete all my bloat ware to but then if a update comes like this one that is ota only all you need to do is unfreeze those apps and flash the stock recovery. Now if you want the update patch for the kernel without the modem you can find it here on xda and flash just the kernel. Thats what I did instead of fixing my phone back just for that small update. If you want the modem to you can also find it here on xda and flash it separately as I did. Its a way better modem than the first. My signal strength nearly doubled after I flashed it........

Hello.
I bought the SGH-i747 SIII, The phone is unlocked, everything works fine, I can receive calls.
The problem I have is that the Data doesn't work, I live in Rep Dom and I'm using the phone with Claro (has the same frequency as AT&T), I have the plan data and APN configured but I can't make the Data works.
I'm using the Stock AT&T firmware (4.0.4 ice cream sandwich)

It wasn't you who rooted it ? I assume you got it second hand and someone unlocked it and it just won;t work on your network ? did someone use it before on Claro ?
Is it a i747 or i747m model ?
Below is the link to all the modems. You just reboot into recovery and flash it there. Make sure its the one for your model. It's an option to try.

Ahhh makes sense now. So you rooted with the rooted :
Puerto Rico Image - New!
Current I747MUMBLL1 (JB 4.1.1)
Mirror 1: Download root66_PCT_I747MUMBLL1.7z
If you don't have a custom recovery do this:
The fastest and easiest way to install TWRP is to use the GooManager app:
Play Store Link
Direct Download
1) Install GooManager from the Play Store
2) Open GooManager and provide root permissions
3) Hit Menu (or the button with the 3 dots on your screen) and then Install OpenRecove
then boot into recovery (hold power and volume buttons down and then release power when screen flashes or use the goo manager app to boot into recovery)
and flash a modem and see if you get a signal.

My first post here and my first Android device.
Bought a Note 10. 1 2014 last week at Future Shop with firmware version MJ4. Heard that MK1 is the latest update but I could not find where its available. Tried Software Update in Setting function but it said my firmware is the most current. Is MK1 update coming to Canada soon?

Did the flashing trip the KNOX counter? Did it remain with normal status in the system info?
I'm in Canada too and also wondering why we are not getting the update. I asked in the Facebook page of Samsung Canada and as usual they don't have any information: "We don't have information about upcoming updates as of now, but when we do, we will let you know. Thank you"
I flashed mk1. The status is official. I don't think it tricks knox bit.

I just went through and flashed your Odex Debloated KitKat ROM, and downloaded this to block the OTA from happening. However, I just noticed the last update of this is from December. Is it still OK to flash this on top of the KitKat ROM, or is that going to muck up things? (Or did you already "bake" it in by getting rid of some of the stuff in the debloat process?).
Thanks again!

Stock Un-Rooted HTC One..?
My husbands phone (which he refused to let me root when we had the chance, has been giving him a lot of grief with this latest OTA. It keeps downloading, attempting to install, and there errors 410 update failed, and exits software update. When I checked his phone after the latest attempt by the phone to install 4.4.3 to see if the download was still ON his device, it had disappeared with the failure of the update.
My question is, he's just sick of getting the prompt, error, and reboot - as a temp fix, can I push this OTA Killer onto his phone even though it isn't rooted and have it work, or do I need to find a signed RUU of the 4.4.3 and flash in bootloader (as I was originally planning on doing, but came across this...)
Thanks in advance!!!

NO, no custom recovery installed, everything is 100% stock. He spent a good part of 3 hours with tech support with Verizon and HTC and they were both dumbfounded....go figure!
Problem is because it's a virtual SD, I have no way of verifying (without root) that it's even downloaded to the virtual one on the M7. Would it hurt anything to take a shot at it from stock recovery.....?
Or is there a link someone could suggest to a download to the OTApkg file?

would this help my problem??
I recently read a post, I don't know where now, but it had to do with a hidden Trojan/malware. That was started in 2013... After reading, thinking back to when this really started affecting me Feb,26, 2015. I noticed some strange things mentioned in my service log from around that date. The post mentioned how it places a high tracker in some obscure app. Unfortunately I got the bug, BAD!!! So not knowing about this until I made it worse by plugging my phone into my computer... I'm sure you can figure out the rest. My everything is screwed now. My HTC one m7, is the only device I can use period, now. I tried to root, and couldn't. Then downloaded another root checker, and it said my device was already rooted. Is there anything I can do(on my knees begging). This has to be the worst inter-web experience ever. Any and all ideas, advice, similar problems, links, and time are greatly appreciated. Thank you
Is this for real??

On a side note, does anyone know how to get the update on a rooted device? I just rooted mine a few weeks ago. Still running stock ROM, but nothing I've tried seems to work.

Forget it, you won't be able to get it through official OTA.
Once you're rooted, your only way to update is to wait for someone to create a flashable zip of the update, flash the entire ROM by downloading from samfirmware or wait for a custom ROM.

Tried updating over KIES - what an ordeal. Had to run through emergency recovery twice but finally got it. I wasn't using root access for a great deal - basically lose out on Greenify automanaging and being able to revoke permissions. I can live with that for a while.
I hear towelroot for the s5 works with the kk update.

KIES doesn't want to recognise my device and Odin is... either stuck on flashing system.img.ext4 or taking really long... heh
EDIT: Changed USB port and Cable and it flashed properly...
Great News!
That's really a great news!!! Anyone planning to make a flashable zipfile for this rom without the bootloader and knox? I preserve 4.1.2 bootloader on my phone since 4.3 came out. So far, is this update good ?? i heard battery life not really good...
Thanks guys!
Has anyone tried installing the firmware using Mobile Odin and using the Everroot option?
I'm not really willing to try it for myself as this is my daily driver phone...
I wouldn't recommend this update. I updated this morning and everything seemed fine until I tried running Waze on the way home from work. My device was plugged into power as it usually is, but now on this new version my battery is actually discharging WHILE connected to power.
Now to look into rolling back. This is a deal breaker.
Edit: And for the record, this drain is confirmed on two different Galaxy S3's in our house.

I just installed update. I was rooted running flashed stock 4.4.3 rom... I used Android Toolkit from skipsoft and it worked..
I tried different ODIN versions with no joy.. Using the Android Toolkit somehow when it loaded ODIN the flash to stock 4.4.3 worked...
UPDATE: I disabled AVG while using toolkit, i had not using odin orginally it may be related to my issu
Be careful using the toolkit. Its been known to brick devices and cause other problems as well.
Yay. Pretty much the same as using any method I suppose. Got lucky I guess.
Is this new bootloader is locked to prevent downgrading to another bootloader ???
Its not "locked" (meaning you can still flash custom recoveries and kernels), but I fully expect it'll be the same as before with regard to downgrading.

Ok. So downgrading from 4.4 bootloader to 4.3 should not work i guess??? . Another question, With 4.4 bootloader, is it possible to flash a 4.3 Rom ???
Correct. Provided its like 4.3, you can only flash the same or newer firmware.
I believe you should still be able to flash older roms like before, but have not seen this confirmed yet.
