Xposed - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

I'm back on stock sense
What are some good closed modules? My main thing since the m8 already has a lot of features is the mobile data icons from the international edition
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app

Here are the Xposed Modules I'm using. These have made a great change to the stock launcher, but still make it feel like stock, which I love.
Unicon gives me the customization of the icons that a 3rd party launcher world give me, such as Nova, without having a 3rd party launcher. Unicon is also the only module you have to download from the PlayStore. It also costs money. I'll post some screens of my setup later so you can see what it has actually done to my HTC One M8.

have a good search on the market yourself would be the best option for you. there are literally thousands of different options for you. but customisation is relatively limited for non rooted phones, live wallpapers and HTC themes, avaliable though HTC built in Sense Themes.
with certain roms, they take on the T-Mobile theme system what utilises much more themes to download and customise. launchers only make changes to your main screen and application list, icons as such a limited.
adw launcher, launcher pro, helix launcher
Re. Make your phone look nice without root...
This might raise some hackles, but in my opinion, when it comes to the aesthetics between rooted and stock phones, there isn't usually a drastic difference. You can get a stock ROM looking really great. I run LauncherPro Plus on CM7.1, but to be honest the cosmetic difference between that and running it on stock Froyo is fairly minor, to the, uhm, passerby. *hides*
Thanks this helps alot
An here are also some nice Themes for Sense 2.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 and Sense 2.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048894
Launcher pro is a good one. You should check it out

Icon Packs

Hello there, I'm currently running on Cyanogenmod 11 Android version 4.4.2. I was wondering if there were any ways to use icon packs with having to install 3rd party apps like Next Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc.
I really like the way my UI looks and I don't want to use unnecessary Launcher apps. Someone please tell me if this is possible or not.

Using a launcher or no ?

I am typically a big Nova Prime Launcher guy. But trying a launcher on this M8 didn't feel right for some reason. It took away the beauty of the One or something.
I am running a custom ROM with tweaks, as well as Sense 6 Alpha toolbox xposed framework.
But think I'll hold off on a launcher for awhile, and enjoy Sense.
Anyone else ?

I thought the same thing, was a adw ex user on my evo. Probably won't use a launcher until I get sick of sense when cm variations come into the game with stability.

I don't enjoy really anything about sense. Using the Google now launcher.
How do I install the Google Now Launcher ? When I look it up, says my device is not compatible.

So far I'm sticking with the stock Sense, but will likely go back to using Apex at some point.
Does motion gestures still work to unlock screen with Google launcher?

Get it from Android Police...

I completely agree about wanting to use sense...the issues for me are:
-hard to back up and restore the homescreen for sense
-not as many customization and gestures
-doesnt show notifications on custom apps like nova does.
I do think that sense has really upped their game in design
Using apex with a shortcut to blinkfeed. Like it a lot.

Sense is a lot better than some of the other OEM options, but still the first thing I installed when I got my One was Nova Prime. I've just gotten so used to all of the customisations I can (and want to) do with Nova that the experience without it just feels off.
For starters, I lose my swipe/tap gestures on the homescreen which I've now developed muscle memory for.

It's not hard to backup and restore the homescreens for sense. I use titanium backup for that and backup BlinkFeed (homescreens). This will backup your homescreens the way you have them.

I used Nova Prime on my EVO 4G LTE and EVO 3D before that... but am still using Sense 6 on my M8. Although I absolutely love Nova and got really comfortable with all the gestures and other customizations I had set up, I decided I'd run Sense 6 until I get bored of it. Another thing is that I actually like the Sense widgets and was always a bit bummed that I had to download alternatives to use in Nova.
Used the Google experience launcher on note 3 but haven't felt the need with the m8

Favorite launcher? NON-Rooted

What's everyone's favorite launcher for the One M8? This on a NON-Rooted phone, and won't be. So what do you guys like besides the stock Sense?
I'm using the stock launcher but i want to try Nova with it because I bought prime.

I like Action Launcher, it's nice and quick to find apps.
For my it's Lightning Launcher because of all the things you can do with it hands down. It has a big learning curve, but when you get the hang of it, there is nothing it can't do....

+1 for Nova, I've loved that launcher for a long while. I've been running the google now launcher and have to say it's pretty good. I usually like a bit more icons on my screen but all in all I like the Now launcher.
I've been a Nova user for years now, I've got paid versions of all the major launchers but Nova's what I've settled on lately.
Since I got my M8, I've been using Sense and I really like it, with one really irritating feature missing... you can't fling icons/widgets off the homescreens. You also can't change icons to individual custom ones (easily) but oh well.
I don't really use Blinkfeed or whatever, but I think the Sense launcher is pretty good on its own.

Any way to apply icon packs from Play Store?

Does anybody know if there is a way to apply icon packs from the play Store rather than the ones on the Samsung themes store? There are some amazing ones in play store.
Thanks
Edit : obviously I can install Nova or another launcher but I love touchwiz so rather stay on it.

I'm on my first Samsung phone and run into the icon pack problem as well. TouchWiz goes a little further than most overlays like HTC's Sense, or Asus's ZenUI, so its not as easy, not for me anyways, to just throw another launcher into the mix!
There is a free app on the playstore that allows you to use your preferred icon packs in TouchWiz without any other modifications! Two to be exact. The first app is Zedge. It has been a popular website for a long time to download ringtones, other items and they have an app on the playstore that basically does the same thing, but it also includes icon replacement in stock launchers that do not support custom icon packs. I would not prefer this one due to the fact that you have to choose from the apps built-in icons, not your own installed from the playstore. But as with all others, there may be a few things you prefer about the app besides the icons.
Second, "Awesome Icons" app on playstore. It has an icon option under menu, and it will automatically pull up a list of all your installed apps, and out to the side, all your icon packs, just pick and choose which icons your prefer for each individual app you are going to be using a shortut on a screen!
Only downside is, takes a minute or two. Upside, ability to use icons from icon packs off playstore of your choice! Plus, you can even mix & match individual icons for individual apps you have shortcuts for!!!!
Hope this helps!

As the first poster put it's probably easiest to install a custom launcher from the Play Store.

Thanks for the obvious advice guys haha but I don't like 3rd party launchers. Love touchwiz so rather stay on it. But looks like there's no way to get third party icons on touchwiz.

Love touch wiz? Have you tried nova? So much more to customize and you can make it look the same and act pretty much the same. But better!
On that note every new phone or any time I have reset I try touch wiz. But end up trashing it due to its limitations
I haven't minded Touch Wiz so far actually but I'm sure eventually I'll switch back to Nova.
I have tried nova and dozens of others. I prefer touchwiz for many reasons which are not relevant to this topic. Let's not change the topic of this thread to convincing me to switch to nova ??

Good luck In your effort. If you find out let us know.
There is a reason people use a custom launcher. Icon packs are part of it.

There are lots of icon packs in the Samsung store. Not very nice though
@mahdibassam have you tried Awesome Icons? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.momocode.shortcuts&hl=en
I used it back in the day. Not sure if it still works or would work with the new touchwiz
Alright so I'm trying out Nova again. Is there any way to import my folders from the touchwiz app drawer? Already imported home screens but all apps are loose in app drawer.

Nova sure has a ton of customisability. But touchwiz is a launcher that grows on you as you continue to use it. Sure it might be limited in functionality, but there is a simplicity to it which nova cannot replicate. Plus it's made by Samsung for their devices, so why not keep it?
