Yes it actually works! It's basically a new one-click root. I tried it on 4.3 ..but it's supposed to work on 4.4 too!

FYI, you can freeze those apps with default non-rooted phone by going to apps .

After running the script and it prompted to "crash". The phone switched to Service Menu, but Configuration menu did not crash.
Rerunning script keeps getting protocol error and status offline. The script no longer switches to Service Menu.

Given it's a ftf, and I have 6.2.B.0.200 (leaked with root) already installed, I should be able to use flashtool on my Win7 PC and just flash the ftf onto my XPERIA S.
I'm guessing I'll lose root access.
If I then have a non-rooted 6.2.B.0.200 build, what is the 'preferred' way to restore/gain root access again?
Should I hang ten awaiting a pre-rooted build which one would installed via CWM/xRecovery and a /mnt/sdcard/ located ZIP ROM. (reset, clear caches and etc)
Just thinking I should really start with a clean build to reduce any oddities and move on from the 'leaked' version(s).

Got it installed. That's the good.
The bad is that Android is a disaster with respect to backups and restores....or Sony is....not sure but I backed up to pc companion and restored and have lost just about EVERYTHING....pictures settings .....its basically a blank install. What a pain in the ass!
There has got to be a better way to do OS updates.

Correct me if I am wrong that you can't take an FTF file and use it with pc companion?
I backed up with PC companion, flashed with flashtool and tried to restore data via pc companion.

Apparently so, this should be fixed when you force GPU rendering in the dev options. You need to kill the settings from the task manager after that to apply this.
Also using nordic via full wipe in SUS and rooted. Only issue encountered is the lag in settings which is fixed via force gpu rendering. So far so good. Still monitoring batt life

This is actually your battery failing. I notice that around now I've been getting a lot of zl's have been coming into my repair shop and even one of my zl had this problem and after I replace the battery it starts working again. Sorry to say but your battery is broken.

If you don't want to wait, just Flash the 4.4.2 FTF file using flashtool
Just info, if you want to root your phone, search in this forum for XZDualRecovery by [NUT], then run the .bat file and select the number 3 option, then you will get pop up from Towel Root apk and press Make it ra1n... And your phone will be root and have the dual recovery (Philz recovery (based on CWM) and TWRP)...
And don't forget to enable Android USB Debugging in Developer Option

are you sure it is for Z3+ dual ? bcos you are giving the E6553_DS_32.2.A.0.224_MY.ftf and (E6553) is the model of Z3+ single sim version. Pls ensure that. other wise phone will get bootloop.

Hi First of all sorry if I take same mistake in english. Second 2 weeks ago I was bought Sony Xperia Z3+ and I'm happy because this phone is amazing but unfortunally appear some bugs for example if I connected my wifi I can't use google play and another google application and I think I try to fix my phone and I would like to upgrade a newer Rom. The name of the ftf file is actually correct to contrary believe. Sony Github sources like to call it the E6553-DS. As you can tell, the DS Stands for 'Dual Sim'. Don't be too scared of flashing anything that mentions DS beside its file name as its still a legitimate file
