Are the Korean models (I have the S) wireless-charging-capable out of the box?
I tried wireless charging with the Nokia Qi charging base, but it didn't work... no matter how much positioning.
I thought it is supposed to work, and the battery cover certainly looks like it has the charing receiver in place.
(And note that I'm talking about the phone itself, not the phone with the the Quick Circle cover)
The battery cover on it only has 2 contacts ... that's nfc the qi charging cover has 4 connections... Korean and us model won't have it

S is not wireless capable out of box, the back cover only has NFC.
I have the S also, just added the Quick Circle Cover, now it is Qi capable.

Can you remove the flap part (maybe cut if off) and have just the back cover? (and have it look relatively normal, not like a coyote ripped off half of your phone case with its teeth)
Yes you can just cut the flap off with a sharp knife.
But if that's what you want, you can just order the G3 Slim Hard Case? They even sell this case cheaper the the Quick Circle Cover.

Yes, it does fit. That being said it is a very tight fit, one poster here removed the foam from the back of the Otterbox case, I did not and the case still fit.
I have also purchased the PT defender case from Bestbuy and it fits as well, again a very tight fit.
I was really worried about it charging through the cases, but it does without any issues.
Awesome! Thanks for your response!

There any other good cases that will fit with the wireless charging door?
I have the case/holster combo from Verizon and the wireless charger and battery cover. The case I have does not work with the wireless charger back. It sucks I have to change the back cover everytime I want to charge the phone.

Doubt it. Wouldn't a case on that door affect how well it works?

The wireless charging door seems like a extended battery size? Is their a different case that bestbuy sells besides the PT Platinum? I can't find the defender you are referring too

The charging door is bigger than the stock door, but is still smaller than the extended battery door.
Here is the SKU 2299396 for the platinum Best Buy case.
I had to do my first battery pull since using the BB case and I don't recommend using this case with the wireless battery door. Like I said it was a tight fit putting the case on, out was almost impossible taking the case off!.
The Otterbox Defender is a tight fit, but can be removed fairly easily.
The Best Buy Platinum case is much to difficult to remove to recommend it for use with the wireless charging door.
So the Otterbox's plastic and rubber doesn't affect the wireless charging at all? Any idea what the range on the wireless charger is? Also, what wireless charging system are you using?

When using the Otterbox case I had no issues when charging. I didn't remove the foam, but like I said previously it was a very tight fit.
I have no idea on range of the charger, and i'm using the LG Verizon pad.
my black silicon verizon case fit fine over the wireless charging door, it created some gaps and such around the kickstand, but it worked and charged fine

So are the wireless battery doors and mats interchangeable or do you have to be sure you use the correct brand mat for your door? Just wondering because if the doors/backs are mat specific then I probably won't do it as you won't be able to use the LG Verizon pad with anything other than a phone.

Don't think it's specific to the LG Verizon charger, I just purchased it as I got the wireless battery door free (Aug. Verizon promotion)
Pretty sure that I read here (XDA Forums) that the powermat would work as well, I would search the forums before going and buying the powermat charger.

Powermat won't work as it uses a different charging technology. You can use the energizer QI charging matt though, that will work.
Hi everyone!...
I bought a smart case for my G3(not original). But when I try to change it with original rear cover, I saw four small yellow metal portitions on it. And the case that I bought does not have them. What does exactly do these yellow metal portitions? Am I going to face any trouble if I use that case?

Those are the contacts for the wireless charging and NFC coils on the back cover. I hope you bought the correct cover for your phone because I believe there are three different contact configurations.
2 for Qi charging
2 for NFC
If the case isn't using them, then you're not using those technologies....
EDIT: mrfeuss beat me to it
I purchased a Qi sticker a few months back and placed it inside my back cover (replacing the existing sticker). The Qi sticker is tight putting a slight bit of pressure on the back cover when attached to the phone. Over time the pressure from the back cover with the Qi sticker has caused the screen to start pulling away from the phone on the left-hand side causing light bleed. I am pretty sure that it is caused by the Qi sticker because when I removed the back cover, I can press the screen back down with no further issues. You may want to think twice before getting a Qi sticker as it will likely cause the screen to separate over time.
I'm using a Qi sticker with no problem. Did you remove the old one?
No. I really like the Qi charging capability. I read over on the Verizon LG G3 forum that others were having the same problem and the few people that posted all seem to have a Qi back cover. I purchased an aftermarket Qi sticker from China and replaced the existing NFC sticker. I didn't buy the official LG Qi back as I felt they were too expensive. I noticed this morning that the screen was separating this with light bleed. I bought an aluminum bumper to add some durability to my phone so hopefully that will help.
AT&T sticker has that problem. Didn't know With enabled stickers did, too.

The sticker is for NFC only, you'd need to either replace the entire back cover or take off that sticker and get a wireless one.
I have had great success with a back cover I ordered from here:
http://www.dealsishop.com/lg-g4-door-qi-metallic-grey.html
It has the sticker already pre-installled and fits like a glove.
Both NFC and wireless charging work flawlessly!
The wireless charging also still works with a Diztronic TPU case and my Seidio Dilex Pro case.
The price is pretty competitive as well.
Hey all - has anyone tried a Qi compatible magnetic car mount to see if it would work with our phones? Not really needing the wireless charging, just wondering if those circular magnetic mounts allow the wireless charging feature to still work with our phones. Would be nice to have an actual magnetic mount that charged at the same time, but not a necessity.

Nope it does not work The metal plate stops the wireless charging from working. As I'd rather have magnetic car mount than wireless charging I've just put my Nexus Wireless Charger back to the basement, until I get a car with Android Auto.
Edit: just reread your post and you're asking about a charging mount, which I've not tried. The below still applies.
It works. It all depends where you place the metal plate. I can put mine low enough between the case and phone and still do both. It works fine, but I'd rather have another plate in there to get a better hold on my mount. Sometimes it slides a bit.
What we really need are a couple of metal strips you can put along the sides to reinforce it some more. Take a look at the 3 XL tear down, and you'll see where the charge sensor is. Totally doable. I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FZVCPHL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which has a rubber cover and then a hard backing that snaps in. Placed the plate between those and no scratches
If you look at Nato Mounts, they have a circle ring plate. Big thin O. Scosche also have a U shape plate. Those leave a big opening in the middle. You can get one like the Nato Mount for half the price on Amazon. Just don't know about the charging speed.

I'll have to check that out. I experimented in lowering the magnetic plate on my case so that it was able to recognize it was on the pixel stand and charge, but it was only up to 50% by the morning, so it's interfering with the signal still.
Here's another option, look at the last image, comes with two different magnetic plate options.
